After a long time we revisited the five bells. What a change for the good. The menu was completely different to the normal type of pub food. We had fish and chips, sausages and a chicken pie all of which were cooked to perfection. We would recommend to follow with peanut butter ice cream.The welcome when we arrived was very warm and the service was excellent .We will return when we are able. We wish the new owners every success.
The Five Bells – LewesWe tried a burger, battered huss and chips. Burger was great. But the huss was small and tasted off on one side. Large bone across the middle. Chips needed more cooking - a bit pale and stodgy. I told the staff about the huss but they weren't interested.
