The best meal I have had in a long time. Tremendous flat iron steak and spiced pumpkin soup. First class selection of wines by the glass too.

The experience as a whole was just amazing! The food was divine. The ambiance so fun and comfortable. The staff was attentive, down to earth and so very professional. The chef was so personable and fun to meet. We are from the U.S. and I would plan a trip just to come back, the experience was definitely a highlight of our trip. Worth every penny!

We made a recent visit to mgj and it's always a pleasure. Beautiful and innovative food, laid-back but attentive staff and a gorgeous but chill aesthetic. I wish all high end eateries were like this. Also, posh Mr. Whippy ice cream was a childhood dream come true, so thank you!

Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. We've been coming to MGJ for years and it is, by far, the best restaurant we know of. The food is sumptuous and lovingly prepared by Gordon et al; every time we've gone it has been a delightful surprise as to his latest creations. It is lovely that the chefs serve the dishes and explain what they are; the care and thought that's gone into them. The service provided by Amelia is excellent (she's a very good somelier) and the ambiance is gentle and relaxed. This is an experience we look forward to every year and is better than any Michelin guide restaurant you care to name; I absolutely guarantee you won't be disappointed.

My wife and I had a fantastic Saturday lunch this weekend. The food was absolutely stunning, my wife is still raving about the butteries, the best bread rolls she's ever had. I won't list the whole menu, but it was a fantastic blend of flavours from across the world. The staff have a hard job describing the ever changing menu, but did it admirably. They were top of the tree in their approach to everything. The wine is also reasonably priced and just enough choice as opposed to trawling through some massive tome! We don't live locally to Bath, but we'll definitely be back. People, use it it lose it and support this place as it's amazing and there's so many challenges for small businesses right now.

Splendid lunch. Food, service and atmosphere was fantastic. This was our 5th visit to MGJ and the standard is as high as ever. Remains one of our top “go to” restaurants.

I've lost count how many times we've been to this fabulous restaurant - it's a much anticipated treat every time The food is fabulous - of the courses last night, I'd want every one of them again The wine flight is brilliantly thought out The music helps suck any pretence out of the night ... Viola Beach, The Cure ... The service is a masterclass.

Our 2nd visit to MGJ, loved it as much as the first.. Food was excellent, my favourite was the Hagis pie, served with a roasted kidney on top, all courses were amazing though. Staff were attentive and friendly, lovely place to eat and it remains one of my Fav restaurants. Looking forward to going again...

Our 3 rd visit to MGJ and never disappoints , very relaxed atmosphere , all staff friendly and attentive and more than happy answer or pass on questions about the food and Gordon himself gets very much involved , looking forward to coming back again

Had another brilliant evening at MGJ. The food is always amazing and once again Chef delivered. The menu was exciting and different with such good wine to accompany the food and bring out the fabulous flavours. The atmosphere was very relaxed but you always feel like its a very special treat to be at MGJ. The staff are also so friendly and welcoming. Had to book again as this is such a special place!

My solo lunch at MGJ was a huge treat! I could not have asked for a more attentive staff or more beautiful atmosphere. The food was creative but approachable and every plate was more enticing than the last. I would love to eat here again!!

This is the 4th time we have attended MGJ and as we each time it was amazing. The food was delicious, I love that you don't get to see the menu until after you have completed the meal. We travelled 2 1/2 hours to be there and will definitely be back. The experience is great, staff so friendly and welcoming

We had a most wonderful meal and experience here. Great flavours, and the wine/non alcoholic wine pairing was superb! Staff explained every dish and wine pairing, and is happy to elaborate further. Portion sizes are not very big, but they don’t need to be. We left sated (and very happy) but not uncomfortably full. We enjoyed the retro alternative music as it added to the quirky vibe.

Excellent dinner on Valentine's day. Tasting menu, of course, with all but one of the inventive dishes being virtually faultless. The only near miss was a too fatty piece of lamb in my meat course dish (my partner's was fine). Wine flight was good too and well-priced. House champagne is the excellent Ruinart. Service superb. Atmosphere spoiled somewhat by the music: good but too loud (for this old fogey anyway). Reasonably priced with no added service charge: that's left, as it should be, to one's discretion. A great dining experience. I look forward to our next visit.
