My wife and I had dinner at The Olive Tree on Friday 7 June 2024. The restaurant had been recommended by the Beryl bed and breakfast where we stayed for the night. We both really enjoyed our meals. We shared an onion bhaji starter that was light and delicious. I had the pork cheek main - which was tender and tasty - and my wife had hake in a chowder sauce that was also delicious. I had the treacle tart for pudding - which was nice but not remarkable - and my wife had the Eton mess which was lovely. The atmosphere and service was good and, unsurprisingly, the place was fairly full. Overall, a very nice meal and experience - and much better than we had expected.
