The Marlow Donkey looks a lot better from the outside. Inside is OK but in need of either being modernised or reverting to a traditional look and feel. My burger was very pleasant and was my friends slider of different burgers. Prices reasonable as was the Guiness.

I can't recommend the Giggling Squid highly enough. The decor is bright, simple, stylish and modern with exposed beams, white washed walls and reclaimed timbers. The service is warm and friendly. The "rustic" Thai cooking is some of the best I've encountered anywhere - including Thailand on four trips. And great value -especially the lunch time Thai Tapas" sets which cost around a tenner. There's plenty of seafood all cooked to perfection, although - although my massaman lamb curry was outstanding.

On Friday 3rd August my family came to your pub for an evening meal, good food, not a problem. However, I was totally disgusted with the price of a bottle of Echo Falls Rose wine which we had with our meal...the cost was over £15 a bottle. Could you explain to me how you get to this price as we bought 3 bottles for £10.00 from an off licence earlier in the week. The wine was served in a wine cooler which was disgustingly filthy. We visit the two brewers quite often but I think you should check your wine prices. If we can get 3 for £10.00 how much do you by the wine in for? An angry customer. Pam Simms

Much happier after lunchtime visit than on an earlier visit at 7 pm on a Saturday - much more civilized and staff not so hattered.

Just arrived home from my first and definitely last visit to the "new" Britannia (Marlow). We were greeted by a very friendly waiter who unfortunately sat us on a table next to a electronic gambling machine. An hour and a half had passed and we still hadn't received our food. Our waiter came over to ask us if we had our food, we then explained that we hadn't. We also had no drinks. He came back to the table and said that the food had been ruined by the chefs and was being cooked again. We waited for another 15 minutes. The manager arrived at our table with an apology. When the food eventually arrived the two steak dishes that my family had ordered were nicely cooked (although were strangely served with two metal bowls of butter). We also asked for mustard which we were told they didn't have.I had ordered the steak and ale pie which was so burned and blackened that I had to call the manager again and send it back. It had clearly been sat on the pass under the heat whilst the other dishes were being re-done. In the end I ended up having nothing. The manager kindly didn't charge us for either the drinks or the meal, but the whole ordeal was embarrassing and a complete shambles. Two words: VERY DISAPPOINTING!

Food was tasty, waiters were attentive. A definite recommendation.

Coco Tamarind – Princes Risborough

Nice meat but lousy service. A place where some of the staff believe they are doing you a favour by serving you luke warm or cold food. Not a patch on the Toby in Edinburgh we went to.

The Toby Carvery Shenley Church – Milton Keynes

Lovely place I enjoyed the food and would recommend it definitely

Turtle Bay – Milton Keynes
Icebabe

Our 1st visit to this restaurant and definitely our last! They should not be allowed to say they are "fine dining". The staff including the Manager need a course on how to serve and talk to people! Would not recommend this restaurant, you get treated better at your local pub!

Piatto Bianco – Buckingham

Excellent, I ate here a little while ago and was greeted by a warm friendly atmosphere. The guys behind the bar were great, nothing was too much trouble for them, would go back again.

Kiln Farm Club Bar & Restaurant – Milton Keynes

What a transformation. The pub was left standing and deralict for a few years after the previous landlord passed away. It was a dull and spooky looking pub.It is now bright and inviting; tastefully decorated with a lovely seating area to the rear of the pub. It also has a large car park.My husband and a friend go there once a week for a drink and a chat and sometimes something to eat and he's always come back and said that we should go there. We joined a group of people there recently for a celebration, on a Tuesday evening, and had a delicious, properly cooked carvery. There were 3 different joints of meat, a selection of potatoes and a nice variety of vegetables which were not overcooked and mushy. Two of our group decided not to have the carvery and chose something else from the menu, which has good choice of yummies to eat. Their meals were served appetisingly and although there was plenty on the plate it was not so much that it put you off eating and there was no wastage. Everyone throughly enjoyed the food. Even the puddings were delicious and serviced with a choice of cream, custard or ice cream. The service was friendly and efficient and I wanted to let everyone know that it is well worth a visit. We are going there again this Saturday (8th September) as they have a live band on that night. We will have a nice drink, some lovely food and a thoroughly good evening.

Kings Head Indian Restaurant – Great Missenden

Hearty helpings of beautiful home cooked food, in pleasant surroundings, with friendly, efficient service. One of the party is lactose intolerant, and they sorted out a good, multichoice menu for her. Prices quite reasonable as well.
