On Sat 15 Nov myself and a party of 9 friends visited Nino's for a family celebration. First impressions, yes, it's a beautiful place and our table looked amazing. However, we were soon very disillusioned as the food left a lot to be desired, such that one meal was completely inedible! My own choice (Paperino Pizza) was also appalling and consisted of 1 piece of shredded duck, 2 small pieces of crispy bacon which was then smothered in spring onions, thinly sliced cucumber and a few tinned mushrooms! All in all an extremely poor effort for an Italian Restaurant. I'd heard so much about Nino's but alas, won't be dining there again.

Went there to celebrate a friend's birthday. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we walked through the door. The menu was extensive and we each chose something different for each course. Everything was perfect, the food was excellent, the timing spot on and the service attentive without being pretentious.

My wife and I booked a table for two, we had 3 courses of good food, the issue was service. We had a course of poppadums that before we had finished the waiter removed, announcing that our starters were ready. Then likewise as we had just had our plates removed and our main course served. Within 35 minutes we had had 3 courses in a very rushed affair. I was ready to order coffee and or desert, no desert menu offered when the waiter gave us a plate of hand wipes and orange segments. At this point we felt like we were being thrown out! We asked for the bill. This restaurant was recommended to us by several family members, so a massive disappointment, not one I am likely to return to.

Enjoyed a really good 3 course meal with 5 friends last night at Bertrams Restaurant, they scored high marks on everything (one main course was late though - there was free coffee to compensate) - and it was great to hear a live jazz duo during our meal.

I went to Sycamore Farm last week for the first time. The food was marvellous, and plenty of it. I will be going again.

The Fence Gate Inn has a refurbishment and is looking fantastic. Definitely my venue of choice in the Burnley area.

Fence is a lovely part of Burnley and there are some great options to dine, drink at. The Fence gate Inn and the Ye Old Sparrowhawk are the best I believe. We nipped in for lunch and even the though there was a funeral on, we were looked after well. I had the ploughmans which was very nice. A great palce for a pint outside with lovely countryside views.

Me and my family recently visited your restaurant on a visit from Northern Ireland, and we were very very impressed with everything about the place. On entering the premises we were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff, who quickly escorted us to the area of the restaurant that fully met our needs, and explained clearly how the ordering system worked, and also went to bring us the highchair we requested. I then went to place the entire order for 8 people, and ordered drinks along with this. We then went to pick up our carvery meals....each person was given the full attention of the server until they had exactly what they required. All of the food was piping hot and beautifully cooked. Then there was the desserts.....now where do I start when talking about these desserts....the whole range was exceptional, and we couldn't believe the sizes of the portions....overall truly wonderful experience and tremendous value for money (my wife even made me come back the following evening to by a take away portion of dessert).I have nothing but praise for your restaurant, and have already made numerous recommendations for people to visit. Please could you if possible pass on my thanks to your entire staff....WE WILL BE BACK, AND SOON

I didn't dine at Bertrams, However I was very impressed with the whole set up. The Spa itself is very luxurious with a wonderful outside area, perfect on days like yesterday. The dining area has a very upmarket feel. A perfect location to make a day of it!

Yesterday I visited Nino's at The Fighting Cocks Inn, together with my partner and another couple, and it was not an enjoyable dining experience for the following reasons. * Food:- This varied greatly, out of four starters & four mains there were four good, one average, one poor & two very poor (the lasagne), also the garlic bread was burnt. * Service:- In practical matters acceptable, but impersonal & not especially welcoming. * Price:- Not good value (drinks very expensive). * Ambiance:- Very noisy, not authentic (it didn't seem to me like an Italian restaurant , just a restaurant serving Italian food - there is a difference!). * We will not return.

We visit on numerous occasions and have always been more than pleased with the food..The menu is extensive , the only complaint is that the portions are much too large, We are happy that the menu has been revised and that there are now smaller portions on some items . We certainly continue to visit on a regular basis.

Fabulous. We went in a big party to celebrate my daughter's 21st. My daughter have failed to tell them one of the party was in a wheelchair, they were very accommodating. Half of the party were half an hour late, still no problem. Despite the fact that they were very busy, our food came out all at the same time, and it was hot. and it was delicious! Very impressed with service, food and the whole experience.

I've been quite a few times since my last review and I'm sorry to say that standards seem to be slipping somewhat. This seems to a direct result of their increased popularity as the meals yeaterday weren't up to their usual standards. My granddaughter complained to me about the salad in her hot chicken skewer as the sauce only tasted of vinegar and the salad had not been shredded as is normal. My daughter's hot steak sandwich was on ciabatta, (as it said on the menu but as she'd never had ciabatta she didn't lnow what to expect.) She's now decided that she won't be ordering it again. Finally we come to my all-day breakfast. The "grilled" bacon had been fried and was covered in grease, the sausage wasn't a sausage just a flat meatball with herbs and then fried, also swimming in grease, the mushrooms were tinned and fried, need I go on. The restaurant was very busy that lunchtime and I suspect that this was the cause of most of the problems, so we'll try it at a different time of day.
