Quality Italian food and tip top real ale in a big former pub with great views! My summer spot!
Fighting Cocks Inn – BurnleyMy favourite in the Burnley area. lovely looking pub. Awesome big outside space and the food is to die for.
The Forest – BurnleyYou may need to go up hill and down dale to find this remote pub but believe me it’s well worth the effort. Beautifully appointed in what you might call ‘country contemporary’ style with rooms for an overnight stay too. Popular with walkers and cyclists getting to grips with nearby Pendle Hill.
Barley Mow – BurnleyI do like Barley, nestled under Pendle Hill. It now has a great pub the Barley Mow. I stayed the night a while back and my son and I were treated so well and loved our meal and accommodation. This time I came on my own as the sun was shining. Smoked haddock on a bed of creamy spinach which hit the spot. Then an ascent of the hill in the glorious sunshine and back down for a pint. food, exercise and beer....perfect
Barley Mow – BurnleyBest Italian meal I have had outside Italy.
Fighting Cocks Inn – BurnleySENSIBLY PRICED QUALITY FOOD WITH EXCELLENT SERVICE.
Bistro 197 – BurnleyEnjoy a meal out with work. Was in a large group and the service was friendly and the food was nice. Highly recommended.
Shimla Spice Restaurant & Takeaway – BurnleyWhat a refreshing change, a landlord that looks happy, the pub is lovely with a good range of drinks, would recommend.
Katy & Kelly’s Real Ale Irish Bar – BurnleyDisappointing. Been to Harvesters numerous times and always enjoyed our experience. However, we went again today and we're extremely disappointed by our service (or lack of). Staff seemed uninterested, rude and very off throughout. We waited over half an hour for a waiter to return to take our order after waiting 25 minutes previously to receive our drinks. Every time we had to approach the bar and remind them we were still waiting for service. At the end of the meal the waitress cleared half our plates, slamming then down on the table as she did so as though it was an inonvenience, then failed to return for the rest until we asked for someone to. Food was good as always but tonight the poor service definitely ruined our experience. Very disappointing.
Bentley Wood Farm – Harvester – BurnleyA real gem for the Burnley area. Loved my parma ham and aubergine pizza. Great views over the countryside and beautiful venue inside. A family business with a passionate team behind them. Well worth a visit!
Fighting Cocks Inn – BurnleyThe service was not as good as I expected. One of the employees with quite big eyebrows and a double chin gave me grief as she was passing me my food. Furthermore, the hat she wore looked silly on personally i think that red doesnt suit her.
Bannys Drive-Thru – BurnleyHi, been to the Harvester quite a few times now and going again today very good value for money, never had a bad meal yet. Everyone very friendly, we find it really good and would recommend it too.
Bentley Wood Farm – Harvester – BurnleyI thank you for our late booking on new years eve, everything 100.Thanks Jill
Beijing Restaurant – BurnleyOn Sat 15 Nov myself and a party of 9 friends visited Nino's for a family celebration. First impressions, yes, it's a beautiful place and our table looked amazing. However, we were soon very disillusioned as the food left a lot to be desired, such that one meal was completely inedible! My own choice (Paperino Pizza) was also appalling and consisted of 1 piece of shredded duck, 2 small pieces of crispy bacon which was then smothered in spring onions, thinly sliced cucumber and a few tinned mushrooms! All in all an extremely poor effort for an Italian Restaurant. I'd heard so much about Nino's but alas, won't be dining there again.
Fighting Cocks Inn – BurnleyWent there to celebrate a friend's birthday. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we walked through the door. The menu was extensive and we each chose something different for each course. Everything was perfect, the food was excellent, the timing spot on and the service attentive without being pretentious.
The Cellar Restaurant – BurnleyMy wife and I booked a table for two, we had 3 courses of good food, the issue was service. We had a course of poppadums that before we had finished the waiter removed, announcing that our starters were ready. Then likewise as we had just had our plates removed and our main course served. Within 35 minutes we had had 3 courses in a very rushed affair. I was ready to order coffee and or desert, no desert menu offered when the waiter gave us a plate of hand wipes and orange segments. At this point we felt like we were being thrown out! We asked for the bill. This restaurant was recommended to us by several family members, so a massive disappointment, not one I am likely to return to.
Shapla Restaurant – BurnleyEnjoyed a really good 3 course meal with 5 friends last night at Bertrams Restaurant, they scored high marks on everything (one main course was late though - there was free coffee to compensate) - and it was great to hear a live jazz duo during our meal.
Bertrams Restaurant at The Woodland Spa – BurnleyI went to Sycamore Farm last week for the first time. The food was marvellous, and plenty of it. I will be going again.
