This is the bestest Italian restaurant ever and we have been to many. we always like to eat here,and also take the children,lovely family run business. love love love it the lasagna is amazing and also the home made garlic bread yum yum x

Stayed for one night on the way to Pembrokeshire for Christmas. Hotel was packed with party goers and there was a lovely atmosphere. The staff were really friendly and helpful, the dinner we had in the evening was delicious, even though they were busy with big parties, the food was well presented, beautifully cooked and the wine list was very reasonably priced. Would not hesitate in staying at this hotel again.

lovely place, open on st stephen's day to warm up after a brisk walk on the coastal path in penarth....homely and welcoming, worth another visit with the kids for the adjacent playground & place for them to use bikes /scooters.....

I love the bunch of Grapes! Excellent quality food, always delicious! Love their pub quiz interval snacks. A lovely place to spend an evening!

fantastic.... the food was incredible and was brilliantly priced, the drinks were a reasonable price and the staff were nice and made you feel at home.

Visited last night 14/11/2011 food and service great, atmosphere friendly and helpful particularly as I am a coeliac and as such cannot tolerate food containing gluten.We live some 15 miles away but opt for this place whenever we are in the area.

Lovely place! 2 of us went last month and had a great lunch, wonderful ambience, clean in decoration and hygiene and good, professional staff. It must be tried - just don't go too quickly down the Goldcliff road or you'll miss it - and that would be a tragedy!

The Gwyn Arms is a fabulous place to go for a home cooked, beautifully presented meal. The portions are very generous and the quality of the meats etc used is superb. Absolutely fantastic homemade desserts such as raspberry and white chocolate cheesecake. An excellent welcome and very family friendly. Meals are very well priced and well worth it. Best place to eat in the area without a doubt. We travel half an hour by car to get here as in the neath/Swansea are there is nothing that compares to it.

we went there on Friday the 4.11.2011 and i would not recommend spending your hard earned money there

I went to Porth looking for the crispy cod as i saw it won the best in wales, it isn't in Porth. I did find it, wish i hadn't now cod and chips was more like fat and sponge. if this is the best the rest must be ....... useless. Wish I had 5p bag to stop the fat messing up car mat. real awful stuff

I dine here regularly and must say it is an absolute gem. Excellent food and good service in a proper restaurant setting! Love it!

UNBEATABLE, FABULOUS, OUTSTANDING !!! I just spotted the previous review on this site and agree with everything stated. This venue has consistently the best food you could wish for. QUALITY, QUALITY QUALITY. Oh , and by the way, they have just won BEST ITALIIAN RESTAURANT IN GWENT FOR THE SEVENTH YEAR IN A ROW....A formidable achievement. I also spotted a " FOUR STAR " ENVIROMENTAL HEALTH AWARD on their front window....very reassuring. How many stars has your usual restaurant got I wonder. I found a huge shock when i explored foodratings.gov.uk some so called top newport restaurants achieved very poor ratings

I ate at the Bagle Brook Beefeater restaurant last Saturday and was very disappointed with the meal and service. Firstly, I had to send the chicken back because it was cold, and when the waitress returned the chicken it was only re-heated and i was not given a fresh piece of chicken. Then i asked the waitress for some chips, but they never came, so ended up not having chips with my meal. Felt that i won't go there again.

I would never recommend this and will not be returning here. Food is greasy, I know its unhealthy fried food but no excuse for how greasy the food is. Staff are rude and inconsiderate. They'd rather be talking to each other or looking out the window than serving. The speed they move at you're lucky if you get your feed warm. No point complaining the managers dont care just overcharge, then take off when it gets busy.

Made to feel welcome as soon as you go through the door,Food is yummy. The new owner has only been there 8 weeks but what she has achieved in just a short time!.Hope to return sometime to see the finished dinning room! All the very best for the future.

This is the worst restaurant that I have ever eaten in. The manager is rude and their policies are a joke. After spending over £200 on food and drink, I was told that we could not eat a birthday cake that we had brought with us as they had to charge for a price of a desert each as they had to pay for the napkins we would want to use. Ended up leaving and ate the cake at home. What a joke of a restaurant. There are much better around in the local area. Try the Colliers in Eifal Fach!
