My 10 year old son and I stopped here midway through a bike ride to and from Sirhowy Valley on a warm April lunchtime. The menu was varied, service was excellent and the food was top class. I plan to take my wife here for an evening meal very soon.

Hope and Anchor – Llanellithe best Sunday lunch i have had in a long time. you can have a choice of meat and also a very good selection of vegetables. The chef is very generous and the waitresses are polite . I have been to this pub/restaurant in the week(wed) and the cooking was not as good. Def go on a Sunday , you will enjoy!!!!
Cross Keys Hotel – CardiffRegular customer, staff very friendly, food very cheap & cheerful in "Early Bird", bit overpriced at full price. Avoid school holidays & bank holidays. Some parents are unconcerned about their children? behaviour! Consistent standard of food, recommend the ribs. Best ever! House wine very good and good value at under £9 / bottle.
Old Mill Harvester, The – BridgendNot as nice a setting to anyone that's been to the New Garden in Aberkenfig but definitely superior cuisine. The best chinese i've had locally.

Plaza Indian Cuisine – NeathThis restaurant is excellent. They have a fantastic take away menu too! We had a fab time, real party atmosphere, price was very reasonable!
Spice Connoisseur, The – CardiffA very pleasant restaurant that provided good service an excellent menu and a delightful cosy bar area. The boozy ginger pudding is a must, all at a reasonable price
Cnapan Restaurant – NewportI Recently Attended a birthday party that i was invited to at this particular restaurant, i found the service outstanding along with the delicate taste of the wide variety of food provided at the restaurant. The amount that was provided on the plate was good for the money that was paid. Very satisfied! I highly recommend this restaurant, you will not be disappointed!
Mermaid on the Strand – TenbyThe place itself does not look much, but the food is simply out of this world! If you can look beyond the design of the menus and go with an open mind, you will be blown away! Seriously excellent food for a modest cost.....Steak was £9.50 etc If you visit the Black Mountains or the Brecons, make sure you visit the Corn Exchange!
Corn Exchange Inn – Abergavennyhad a takeaway meal on friday and curry was very nice and tasty.
Masala – LlanelliA fixed cost (£12.80 April 2007) eat as much as you like menu which offers a great variety of quality Thai style food served by very friendly and attentive staff. Drinks and dessert are extra but the value for money element of the main courses still makes this a very good evening out for about £20 per person including drinks and dessert. Well worth a visit (phone and book at weekends)
Thai Pheonix Oriental – SwanseaI stopped in on my way thru to Ireland - what a pleasant surprise - the owner there has a sister in Australia and we spent a memorable evening catching up on whats happening in and around Pembroke Dock as well as in Brisbane, Australia. I highly recommend this as a stop in for a meal before boarding the ferry.
La Brasseria – TenbyUnder new management (Chris & Emily are excellent hosts).the range of real ales and standard beers and lagers is well worth a try. Food is always well presented and the portions are for people with big appetites(the greyhound chicken dish and house curries are well recommended and the chef's lasagne is outstanding). Sunday lunches are excellent with a choice of three meats every weekend(you can even ask for a slice of each !)Accompanied by an excellent choice of fresh vegetables. In the winter the coal/log fires are well welcomed on a cold damp day! There is an upstairs function room which will cater for parties of up to 25 people and a larger downstairs function room with seating for about 60-70 people.
