What a fantastic day for myself, partner and my parents. We had afternoon tea in the manor cafe. The device was impeccable and the food was lovely. It was a Christmas present for my parents, I did not now Renishaw but hoped the positive reviews proved to be correct, they were. We had afternoon lovely walk around the fantastic gardens afterwards, a throughly splendid day.

A beautiful place to visit . Service is good but wow the portion of soup was mean. It really was the smallest portion I have ever received. It was delicious too. For the price we paid to still leave hungry would probably put me off booking again .

Went yesterday with a group of friends for my birthday lunch. All had excellent meals. The quiches were delicious. We all liked the look of the afternoon tea. Will do that next time

When we finally drank our coffee after a 35 minute wait it was well received although we had to drink quickly as we were due on the house tour. Similarly the plate of fish and chips later for lunch was delicious but we waited 40 minutes so we were probably hungry. I doubt I’ll rush back to the cafe tbh due to the waiting times. Staff were very friendly but the order to receiving times need attention.

Booked a table as knew it got busy, was best idea as it was quite full and there were 4 of us, queue for ordering a little busy so took some time getting served, food also little delayed but understood due ti how busy it was, food good, salad lovely and fresh, coleslaw spot on as some cafes fill it with onions! Excellent and friendly serving staff, good place if you want a bit of gathering

Had a delicious afternoon tea here. The sandwiches and savouries were fresh and very tasty and the the scones and cake were also very tasty. The best thing was being allowed to eat and chat at our own pace and we never felt rushed by the staff at all. I would highly recommend this cafe.

I had my baby shower here and I was very impressed with everything! The table was decorated beautifully, the staff were all fabulous and very attentive, and the afternoon tea was wonderful. I would definitely recommend and I will be visiting for afternoon tea in the future.

We had a high quality experience at Renishaw Hall Cafe this weekend. The food was excellent, the service friendly and efficient whilst the embience in both the cafe and the courtyard was relaxed and refreshing. Outstanding- we will certainly be visiting again.

I visited with a group of 12 prior to taking a tour around the house. Our orders were taken and we were shown to our prebooked table on a very pleasant room. Our food was served to us very promptly. The portions were generous and tasty. People felt the prices were very reasonable. Tea & cakes later were also very enjoyable. Thank you to all the staff

Lovely afternoon tea. It was busy but the staff were still attentive and friendly. One lovely man even offered to take a photo for us. I love how you decorate the tables for those having afternoon tea, makes it feel more special. Will definitely be back!

Visited for afternoon tea on 2nd April, which was a lovely Mother's Day treat from our daughter. We were seated in cafe, our window table was positioned looking through on to one of the courtyards. Our table was beautifully dressed with white linen table cloth and flowers. Service was prompt and we were soon served our pot of tea in lovely china cups, our drinks were refillable throughout. We were then served our sandwiches, savouries and cakes around 10mins later on a traditional 3 tiered cake stand. The quality of the food was outstanding, so tasty! A special thank you to Natalie who had a lovely, warm and welcoming smile which matched her disposition. Natalie supplied us with a calendar of upcoming events which was great. We would definitely recommend Renishaw Hall cafe and we would be sure to visit again soon.

Enjoyed a very nice afternoon tea. The table was nicely laid out. Service was lovely too. Suggestions:- Have a point where those who've pre-booked can go to be assigned to their table without having to attract someone's attention. Provide pastry forks for the cakes - they are nice, but not easy to lift or to eat without getting messy.

A lovely afternoon tea with my mum. Plenty of lovely food and very attentive service. Went to pay the bill only to be told they don’t accept cash. Lots of people still want to use cash, especially the older generation. Don’t use it and we’ll lose it. It seems it’s already gone at Renishaw Hall.

A little disappointed. Attitude at ordering point brusque and unhelpful. Heard several folk being berated for not knowing their table number. Menu limited, no vegetables apart from mushy peas. However those who brought our food were lovely and the food was tasty.

I had booked on the 2/3/25 Mother’s Day afternoon tea for 5 adults and one 14 month old child. 2 vegan and 3 normal with a child’s meal. Confirmation arrived of the booking on Saturday 29th via email. Got to the restaurant and got seated within a few minutes. After all getting seated and offered our drinks one of the waitresses approached and apologised but they were not serving children’s meals that day only afternoon teas. She offered a child’s afternoon tea to a 14 month old. I explained he was too young and dairy free. I asked if it would be possible to warm up a ready meal I had brought just in case, they were unable to do this due to allergies. They offered no other options for my son. (If I had known about this on booking I would have looked elsewhere). The sandwich fillings were nearly none existent and the coffee was like warm when it was served. I have eaten here a couple of times previously and not had any problems but I wouldn’t recommend the afternoon tea at all.

We booked a table for lunch at 1.30, having been gifted a cafe voucher from friends, for Christmas. It was a nice March day, so the cafe was quite busy. There was a large queue at the entrance with nobody to advise we had booked, so would have had a long wait to get our table, until a manager arrived to ask. By the time we had our table and selected, we faced a long queue at the till to order and pay. From joining the queue to ordering, two of my preferences had been sold out, so I had to have an less appealing alternative. The food was good, and came quite quickly. However, the overall experience was ruined by the shambolic system and lack of proper organisation. Is it too much to ask to be able to order from a full menu, especially after taking the trouble to book a table? I would think not. Will we return to eat here? Not unless they reorganise the system.

Booked Mothers Day originally for 4 for Sunday lunch 1 being a Gluten Free Sunday lunch in the 17-03-2025. The first confirmation I got from Renishaw Hall was the 27-03-2025 saying it was afternoon tea not Sunday lunch. Then I received another phone call on the 29-03-2025 saying it was again afternoon tea not Sunday lunch. We had no time to book anywhere else so went for the afternoon tea. Heather looked after us on our table and was a credit to you and an nothing was too much trouble. The afternoon tea provided for me as it was gluten free consisted of 4 sandwiches and a packet of crisps poured over the sandwiches. The variety of cake was 2 large pieces of cake and a scone. No jam no cream and the two slices of cake were far too big. A bit more consideration could have been taken into preparing for my GF afternoon tea. It was a lot of money for 4 sandwiches and a piece of cake!!!! Will we be coming back? We very much doubt it. Came for mothers day afternoon tea. Lovely experience. Lovely setting. Staff attentive. Food good quality and varied. Will certainly come again. Only one thing would have made it better which was not having to queue to pay which took forever waiting for people to get drinks and food.
