"Ten minutes later, someone banged on my home door... bit too late for an apology from a rather angry and large man!" Had a look at the last review and was happy to order from a "local" company rather than dominoes. As cheap takeaway pizza goes, this was okay. Despite ordering from their "special offer menu" got charged for the full price. When I phoned to query and ask for a refund, told that it would be taken off our next order and that no refund was possible as they were "a company". Phoned for a second time, informed them that I had spoken to my bank and discussed raising a dispute, still refused a refund and subjected to an expletive response. Ten minutes later, someone banged on my home door... bit too late for an apology from a rather angry and large man! Needless to say I would not recommend this kind of "local". One angry "brother" was more than enough.

I love this restaurant! My husband is Persian & is very fussy about what he regards as Persian cuisine served in restaurants....he would eat here everyday if he could! Its a cosy, no frills place with excellent food & as all Persians love...rice is plentiful! Can't recommend this place enough.

This is a true kinda hidden gem in Chorlton. I saw hidden as the front of the restaurant is a turkish takeout, and a very busy popular one at that. Once through the takeout in the front, you enter a wonderful atmosphere of local, friendly, accommodating charm and that is just the service. The food is amazing, and the whole experience just fantastic. After returning from Turkey last year from a holiday, it's wonderful to have some of that lovely Turkish hospitality coupled with fabulous, fresh, tasty cuisine.

Went for Mothers Day last night, for the first time, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Was a bit confused when we arrived outside, just seeing the take away part but then was nicely surprised when we walked through to the restaurant at the back. Friendly and welcoming service. Food was delicious. Already thinking about my return visit!! Excellent!

I'm used to Persian cooking myself as my family and I cook and eat it everyday so my standards for someone else's persian food is set high. I can happily say I have always returned for more. There's nothing difficult about the menu, all mains come with everything you could need and want and anything else is just bliss. Going back for more in a few hours!

Had a lovely meal at Due Fratelli last night and the staff were so welcoming. I mentioned that I found the place on Sugarvine and we got a great table. The starters and mains were both delicious and I had some wine from the barrel which was also very good. I will be returning soon again .

I went with my partner to this place earlier this week. The restaurant was very cold. We tried to speak to the manager. He was extremely rude and just shrugged hiss shoulders up and said '' There is nothing wrong!''. Very poor customer service and rude staff. Certainly my last visit!

The best Indian restaurant in Manchester without any doubt. Don't bother going down the curry mile, come here. The food is fantastic, no grease and oils, but a pure joy to eat. I couldn't recommend it any higher. It's a hidden secret so don't tell too many people.

Was really pleased that the Horse and Jockey got refurbished and started doing food. The refurb job is lovely - they've turned a dingy pub into a nice, bright restaurant/bar. Service is a BIG problem though. When dining with a vegetarian friend the veggie caesar salad came with large slices of anchovy on it. It was sent back and replaced with a supposedly fish free one. After a mouthful my horrified friend insisted she could taste anchovy and when we queried with the same waiter who'd replaced the first plate, he casually replied with a shrug that the chef puts finely chopped anchovy into the dressing. He offered to replace the food with a different meal (but not for free) but couldn't even be bothered to apologise for the mistake. For a restaurant that's supposedly very veggie friendly (they even have vegan dishes on the menu) it was a disgrace. I was hugely embarrassed that I'd taken my friend there. I was so appalled by the service that I will never eat at this restaurant again and I would strongly advise any vegetarian or vegan customers to think twice before dining there.

Our party arrived and we were greeted by the manager (i think) who was very charming and witty which we appreciated because she seemed under pressure from an overbearing owner (at least we hope it was otherwise she should have shown him the door). Despite this she took it in her stride. Waited 20 minutes for a drink, they were busy but I could have made them for us and the bar staff in half the time. The food was good / ok not the best, we've been before and the quality was better, maybe just an "off night" from the chef. Overall 8/5 the service from the lovely waitress compensated for mediocre food, a rude obnoxious owner / customer and what would otherwise have been a non-starter. Our experience: the food in Beggars Bush (across the road) is far superior and the cocktails made in half the time. I'd give it another go.

I had the falafel and the small filo pastry parcels stuffed with feta ans spinach and deep fried. Wow! Along with my kofta kebab on flat bread. Yum Yum!! My favourite Kebab shop/Restaurant in Manchester. Everything is freshly prepared daily, the chickens are boned whole and rolled for the kebabs. Even the doner is prepared in house by top quality Lamb. They even mince their own neck fillets for the kofta. If you haven't been... you need to.

Just had Sunday Lunch at the Horse & Jockey while over from Middlesbrough to visit our daughters - no mashed potatoes, but the other veggies more than made up for it, and it was one of the best Sunday lunches out that we've ever had. Nice surroundings and friendly staff too - will definitely go again!

Visited Coriander for the first time last night, it was really busy and although its small you don't feel like you are sitting in the laps of others. The food was fantastic, the staff are really attentive without being overbearing, after enquiring about my own tastes the waiter recommended Grandmothers vegetables and what a fantastic recommendation it was! As a vegetarian dining out with a meat eater, the choice was fantastic. Eaten the left overs for lunch today! Don't be put off by the decor just enjoy the delicious food, great service and nice cold beer.

First visit yesterday, courtesy of the excellent reviews on this page.On arrival at 5pm i was very very sceptical as the place was empty and the decor, although clean, leaves alot to be desired. We sat down and ordered, with the very helpful assistance of the waiter and, while waiting for the food, slowly the place began to fill up which was very reassuring given my initial impressions! On arrival the food, which smelt fantastic while cooking, tasted even better,i had the shashlic with onion rice and was extremely impressed as were my fellow diners with their choices.Highly recommended and proof you should never judge a book by the cover!(however, please hire a new decorator!!)

I felt compelled to write this review, as I had been directed to this restaurant by several people, telling me of the delicious food.Me and my partner enjoyed the shared Mezze to start, it was varied and fresh. However neither of our main meals tasted of very much. Infact of anything. My chicken was watery and there were no mushrooms or green peppers in the mushroom and green pepper sauce. The meal had no seasoning or taste to the sauce, not even an onion or hint of garlic. After taking a few moutfulls I informed the hostess I wasn't happy with my meal of this -her reaction was something extrodinary I have never encountered as a restaurant customer before. She informed me I was a cheapskate who just didn't want to pay for my meal, that I was just to full from the starter. Customers had enjoyed their food for 22 years and I was completley wrong. She intimidated and embarassed me, raising her voice and threating to call the police if I refused to pay for my meal. To top it off, she sent over her husband with the bill to thraten my boyfriend. When asked "do you treat all your customers this way?" The kind owner replied "No, just you." This was supposed to be a celebration meal for my boyfriends new job, and it was completely runied. I have never been treated with such aggression or rudeness before and I would strongly deter anyone from going to this restaurant.
