Went last night and although I’ve been in the past standards are definitely slipping. Mac and cheese ran out, there was no ackee in my ackee and salt fish, waited 50 mins for food! To top it all off we went for the 2-4-1 hench box offer, only to be told when getting the bill that we don’t qualify as we didn’t order a small plate? This wasn’t advertised on the fb page and unfortunately I won’t return.

This place is amazing. The food is wonderful. Not greasy at all really fresh. You get good portions for what you pay for. Service is good and the atmosphere is lovely.

The food here is amazing. I have been so many times and never once have i been disappointed. Yesterday i had the jerk chicken wings for the first time and they were devine. I don’t link bones but the meat just fell off with zero effort and they taste was delightful. The hench box is amazing and again has never failed to please me every time. It’s a bit on the pricey side but the portion is big and the taste and quality is 9/10.

We’d heard great things about The Drop and my partner loves Caribbean food so I booked this as a surprise for his birthday. He was delighted and so was I. The food was the best Caribbean food we’ve ever had, the staff were brilliant (even via email when I changed my booking). The atmosphere is authentic, cosy and upbeat - couldn’t ask for more. Cant wait to come back :)

The food is fantastic. We had a really good evening here. We started with the meat sharing platter, essentially a sizzling hot plate of various meats, and followed it with two lamb curries. The starter was excellent, and the curries no different. The naan's were superb as well - thin, light and crisp. They have kingfisher on tap as well as non-alcoholic beers for the drivers. You recommended. We'll definitely be back in the future.

Initially when I first dined at this restaurant the food was on par (delicious). Price bracket very good. Restaurant is a bit on the small side but cozy. My last visit this Sunday was not up to its usual standard. Chicken was delicious but the lamb was a bit dry. The worst part was the cost. We paid in the brackets of £40-50 for 4 people but even with cost of living raise it was over £70 for 2 people main meal with a couple of sides. Furthermore in West Indian culture rice and peas is a dish we eat every Sunday and this is the day of all days we would expect to be served it. We were shocked to be given vegetable rice instead and told that rice and peas is not served on Sundays. I was so disappointed to say the least especially as it was my son’s birthday and his first time eating there and because we had hyped the place up. My Sunday visit was not up to my previous expectations and experience. It is a shame as my son is an avid Caribbean food lover and buys most of his food out when working. He was so excited based on my previous review to find another place to purchase Caribbean food. I was badly let down. Main disappointment food not up to usual standard Value for money way off Portion size smaller than usual. I don’t know if it’s only Sundays it’s like this as in the week previously it was great.

Ok so lovely laid back set up Cocktails delicious when they arrived and food super hot However initial service was slooooow We had to ask for drinks And salt fish had too much juice and Ackee was over cooked so was mashed up Still tasted good Kiddies meals were small for price But overall wasn’t too bad and we had free cocktail for bday boy

Food was filling, incredibly tasty, service was fast and atmosphere was fantastic. 5/5 one of the must try restaurants in Manchester

I went for evening meal, foods was nice and the service was very good but was really surprised when we paid TJ a bill was over charged. We had 2 x main dishes and the menu price is £13 easy but been changed £15 each! So over charged £4 plus we gave good tip. I didn’t realised till I saw the receipt after I got home.

The food was nice, nothing special, service was good, but very very small portions and very over priced!! The website pricing is not updated & the ‘hench plate’ is not ‘hench’. Smallest portion of the mains - It’d probably be better value for money to order the mains & sides separately!
