Amico Mio Risturante Italiano

Our second visit here and we were not disappointed. Although we live quite a distance away we feel it well worth the journey, the staff are very friendly and nothing is to much trouble.

Visited on 28th October for dinner, having last visited about 10 years ago. The menu was different, the food was excellent, we were made welcome and found the dining room not too crowded and it had a rustic charm. A thoroughly enjoyable visit which I intend to repeat.

The Red Pump Inn – Clitheroe
Mitton Hall Country House Hotel

My daughter got married a couple of weeks ago and chose this venue for the reception. what a good choice we were very well looked after by excellent staff and would recommend it to anybody

I asked for nachos and the "green" dip in the middle of the nachos was still frozen. I mean I did not know you could freeze salad. I complained, they scooped it off, put it in the microwave and gave me the same meal back. Now I just go in for coffee.

The Emporium – Clitheroe

First visit - on entering the bar/restaurant we were slightly put off by "the best man's speech" being piped through the speakers quite loudly - very nice if you are guests at the wedding but slightly uncomfortable if you aren't.. anyway after asking the manager to switch it off (5 mins later he did so) - we were shown to our table it seemed everyone dining that evening was placed albeit squeezed into one area of the restaurant - menu pretty mixed if slightly confusing for a country pub/bar restaurant - Chinese, Indian, french, British dishes which were ok definite room for improvement but we did go expecting traditional British food.. nice place and surroundings but we wont be rushing back - Aug 07

Shireburn Arms Hotel – Clitheroe

With great views, excellent food and fabulous decor this is a great choice for a romantic meal. One of my favourite places! Kimberley x.

Wellsprings Inn Pendle Hill – Clitheroe

What a find!! hidden down a beautiful country lane The Buck Inn is by far one of the best eating and drinking houses around. The menu choice is unbelievable for the size of the pub and the prices are reasonable. The gammon is awesome and sourced locally apparently. Service is truly amazing to say how busy they get, a credit to the staff who unlike most places do afford you a smile for your trouble. Truly exceptional!!

The Buck Country Pub – Clitheroe

Quite simply the best Italian meal you will find. The specials are fantastic and the portions are generous.

Visited for a bar meal on 15/9.07. Limited choice on the menu and very, very expensive for pub food. Fish, chips and peas cost more that £10.50. Chips were inedible -enormous and hard inside, overcooked and "hard baked" on the outside. When we complained to a waiter my plate was removed. Waiter returned some minutes later with the same plate to tell me that the chef had said that the problem was with the type of potatoes used and that he had added some more of the offending chips to my plate!!! Not worth the 60 mile round trip. Doubt if we'll ever go again.

This pub has gone downhill fast. Up until my recent visit in late June 2007, I was recommending it to my friends but afterwards had quickly to go round and warn them against it. It was service without a smile; no please or thankyou, minimum conversation and little if any eye contact. The drinks were overpriced and the cutlery was literally thrown on to the table as the waitress rushed by.The prawn piri piri, which I chose from the specials board, consisting of the minutest of prawns swimming around in a watery concoction which could hardly be called a sauce and served alongside a tablsepoonful of limp salad. My friend had chosen a sausage with cheese melt on a baguette which was equally obnoxious. We left without ordering a desert and won't be returning. What a shame! The surroundings are beautiful, the village picturesque and the pub full of charm..... unlike the proprietors. Don't go there.

My friends and I always leave Breda's feeling that we've had a real treat - gorgeous food, spotlessly clean, modern but cosy atmosphere and decent service at a reasonable price -what more could you want?

Breda Murphy Restaurant – Clitheroe

Absolutely excellent food and beautiful room (we had the Tap room, 18th and 19th August)couldn't fault anything and particularly liked the heart shaped fried bread with the superb breakfast.....typifies the humour of the hosts, who deserve a major award for turning this place around!

The Red Pump Inn – Clitheroe

Gosh, reading the other reviews I feel a real party pooper. We came for supper during a weeks' break in the region and I wasn't that impressed with the place. Very very busy and touristy but with a very good buzzy atmosphere which the kids loved (as did the millions of other kids there!. Menu a little uninspiring and I settled on fish and chips which was good but left me feeling a little bored. Kids meals good but we have visited better places in the area that deserve a little more airplay than the Three Fishes currently enjoys.

A very nice surprise on a wet (soaking actually) summers day. Superb sesame tempura calamari with soy dip, meltingly delicious Ribeye steak and a super berry pannacota for me; the significant other had duck and rabbit terrine, excellent whole seabass baked in parchment with gingery vegetables and followed by liquorice ice cream. We were supposed to go for a walk on Longridge Fell and decided to just look at it instead from the gardens at The Red Pump Inn with another glass of Merlot. Absolutely spot on, didn't even know the place existed, but will return.

WE have been here many times and have always liked the ambience, the food and the service. It really is a special location and the quality of the food is consistently good BUT BUT the portions are minimal. What could have been a super meal was spoilt by the tiny amount of food hidden under the salad. After lunch we went to home to satisfy our hunger.
