Best food ever, cant wait to visit again
Waddington Arms – ClitheroeVisited this restaurant after searching through Sugarvine, and so glad we did. The pizza in this place is what I call a real Italian pizza experience, it had every topping you can think of, and my partner had the pasta which was such a generous portion she (& I) couldn’t finish it off! It has a very relaxing atmosphere, and the staff were very attentive and the food was delightful, I couldn’t praise them enough. A great authentic Italian restaurant.
La Vespa – ClitheroeThis is the best new restaurant we have visited in years. Owner and staff very friendly and efficient. Menu extensive and prices very realistic. The quality of food is just wonderful. We have been about nine times in just a few weeks. All the best to them. Keith and Jan
La Vespa – ClitheroeWe had a fantastic meal at the Wellsprings Inn this afternoon on our first visit. The staff and service were first class and the food excellent and very good value with 2 for 1 on the main courses. The atmosphere was very festive and with snow outside we felt like we were in the Alps. The only very minor problem was that the Ladies toilets were cold (my wife and daughter said !). We can't wait to go back.
Wellsprings Inn Pendle Hill – ClitheroeWe visit the Buck Inn whenever we can with other family members. We love going there as Steve and Rachael always make us welcome . The atmosphere is great and the food is always top class. It is always worth the drive from Accrington worth while.
The Buck Country Pub – ClitheroeSince the restaurant opened we have now eaten here on three occasions. The food is excellent Italian cuisine from an extensive menu with a good choice for everyone, supplemented by a very good wine list. There is a very good atmosphere and the staff are very hospitable and attentive. All in all this is an excellent restaurant and a welcome addition to the area.
La Vespa – ClitheroeOur first visit to The Villa. Our party of 8 were greeted with a warm welcome on arrival and shown to the cellar bar for pre-dinner drinks. Nice lively atmosphere. Service and food was good but with one criticism there seemed to be quite a few cream based dishes on the menu no big deal but can restrict your choice. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Tiger Lounge – ClitheroeVisited for Sunday lunch and the food and wine were both excellent. Very good Sunday lunch menu available as well as extensive Italian a la carte. The staff couldn't do enough for our party. Thoroughly recommended by all 6 of us.
La Vespa – ClitheroeWe are regulars at The Spread Eagle and the food is always excellent - must say though that Sunday's meal was the best ever. Do try the game casserole if it's on the menu!
Spread Eagle – ClitheroeWe came across the pub by chance on a Sunday. They had a Sunday lunch menu as well as a la carte.Choice was excellent & no course disappointed.from seafood or black pudding with belly pork starter. With mains of roast beef or pork both satisfying the taste buds. A good range in the sweet department which should make everyone happy. And if wine is your tipple you cant go wrong with their selection. Take some friends,we will definitely be going back.
Duke of York – ClitheroeCalled in recently for Sunday lunch. 1st time of visiting this establishment and found the mixture of old world pub charm and excellent restaurant cuisine amazing. Staff were very friendly and the food delicious.
The Red Pump Inn – ClitheroeWe originally found Amico Mio on Sugarvine.com and have visited many times now, but most recently went on Friday night, and as always was very busy, with the usual romantic atmosphere, a guitarist playing in the background and the staff very attentive, and also had a chilled bottle of Rose waiting at my table on arrival made this a special birthday for my wife. The food doesn’t really need a mention as it was as spectacular as ever, this is far from your usual “authentic” Italian restaurant. If you’re looking for a nice calming romantic meal or a lively fun evening with family and friends then Amico Mio is the place for you. Keep up the good work.........Brillante, Bravo
Amico Mio – ClitheroeToday is my first time out to CLITHEROE with my family on a DAY TRIP tour to the Dales and we had a meal at the CALF`S HEAD. I have to say the wide range of menus and the generous portion of food was very good. The food was fresh and the presentation was good. The staffs were friendly and helpful and they worked their socks off. I would highly recommend this pub to my friends . Keep up with the good standard
Calfs Head – ClitheroeWonderful atmosphere, fantastic service, friendly staff, absolutely out of this world food. Would highly recommend. Only thing that lets it down, are the toilets. Well the ladies anyway, I haven't been in the mens :) They are grotty and tired. But that is nothing to do with the food and service. Second to none.
Wellsprings Inn Pendle Hill – ClitheroeDid a walk that started and finished at this pub. We popped in for a great pint afterwards. Will definitely return to this beautiful spot for a meal.
Assheton Arms – ClitheroeI have visited the Freemasons at Wiswell on several occasions with my partner and children. Each time the service has been great, and the food is fantastic - especially their mini sweet selection! Top quality food with a really great atmosphere. Much recommended.
Freemasons At Wiswell – ClitheroeAbsolutely wonderful! The pappa al pomodoro was INCREDIBLE.... Warm and cozy authentic, hearty Italian!
La Locanda Ristorante Italiano – ClitheroeOn a one night stopover in the area my husband and I visited Benedict's, for a light meal. Can't praise it highly enough. We were spoilt for choice with light meals, (chef's Pate-Delicious.) Mains and Deserts. Food was 1st class and presentation beautiful, bottle of wine with meal was exceptional value and the coffee delicious. The ambience, food, art work all made for an enjoyable experience, we'll definitely visit again.
