La Vespa – ClitheroeI went here for dinner with my partner on Monday. When we arrived we were seated promptly & asked if we would like any drinks, after about 15 minutes the waitress came over and took our order. I opted for the risotto with garlic and parsley to start, followed by the steak with wild mushrooms & Chips for my main. First impressions of the food were rather good the starter was slightly bland (however my partner really liked it, so I put this down to my personal taste. The main course was really good & there was just the right amount served . For dessert I had the Rhubarb crumble with vanilla ice cream, this was by far the best part of the entire meal It’s not the easiest place to find, however once you get there its worth it
Freemasons At Wiswell – ClitheroeWe took a trip out to the Freemasons Arms in Wiswell from St.Annes. What a beautiful place with great food. Quite like to back for the cooking courses they run. Only complaint we had nowhere to park but would definitely return.
Freemasons At Wiswell – ClitheroeWe are regular visitors to Amico Mio, its a lovely intimate restaurant always with a buzzing atmosphere. Thursday nights there is live music from a pianist. You always get a warm welcome and the food and service are always excellent. Its always busy so booking is advisable even during the week, which is a good sign. Well worth a visit. We will be returning very soon.
Amico Mio – Clitheroehad a great Sunday lunch with my old queen. The potted duck and Cumberland sauce was great although it maybe needed a touch more salt. The other side of the table got all sticky with the ginger sticky chicken wings. Main courses of Roast loin of pork was the ultimate. 2 good slices of pork loin still tender and juicy with crackling that was supremely crispy. the portobello mushroom burger was good but the tomato sauce has the weirdest taste, maybe some work needs doing there. The jelly was more like a wine gum consistency which was a shame and lacked flavour although the whipped custard quenelle was beauty. I could of eaten a whole jar of that. After saying all that the service was impeccable and the new spring menu will be arriving on Friday the 15th April. we will be booking for Easter. Yes that's correct you will need to book. I love this place, i have a soft spot for it. Keep up the good work.
The Three Fishes – ClitheroeSo pleased to have found this restaurant. The food, ambience and service are first rate and the menu very impressive...the best Italian restaurant for miles!
La Vespa – ClitheroeVisited this restaurant with 4 friends and found it very enjoyable. the food is to die for and the service really good. proper Italian waiters and a lovely comfortable environment A++++
La Vespa – Clitheroethis is a good restaurant. i would recommend it to people who are looking to dine or go for special occasions
Dil-Raj Restaurant – ClitheroeHad not been to the Red Pump for a good while, what a mistake, this is an excellent place to dine out, we need to visit more often. You get a warm welcome and the staff are, friendly and helpful. We went with friends on a Saturday night, it was busy with a good "buzz" in the dining room. I follow a strict vegan diet, and have to say some restaurants attitude is diabolical, but not at the Red Pump, having read a previous review about dietary requirements, I have to agree that they go the extra mile. I had a delicious curried potato soup with saute potatoes and mango chutney, followed by a vegan lancashire hotpot, twice cooked chips and green beans. I am not a big pudding fan but maybe I made a mistake by not asking for one, would have been interesting to see what creation I got. Anyway make a beeline for the Red Pump, Martina and John are great hosts and it will not be long before we return.
The Red Pump Inn – ClitheroeRude staff and over priced poor quality food served in a scruffy poorly presented pub.The worst meal i have eaten in the Ribble Valley.
Assheton Arms – ClitheroeFreemasons uses to serve delicious sandwiches, however they have taken them off the menu in order to make more profit from their meals. Only meals are served, no light meals at any time-very disappointing. Won't be returning as their meals are too expensive. They've caught the Ribble Valley bug of overpricing!
Freemasons At Wiswell – ClitheroeExcellent! Eaten here several times - always very high standard. Welcoming, friendly, great atmosphere and nothing too much trouble! Also do gift vouchers!
La Vespa – ClitheroeSimply a wonderful Italian restaurant to have so close to us. One of if not the best we have been to for a long time. We live local and indeed own the the Kingfisher Cafe Bar @ Reedley Marina so we like to think we know a good one when we find it.
La Vespa – ClitheroeDreadful! 4 of us booked for the 7 course taster menu at 8pm. At 11pm we were still waiting for the 5th course. The reply from front of house staff was "the chef has to prepare each dish individually." This is usually the case in such establishments! The food was unremarkable but the service dreadful/rude and as such made for a regrettable experience. If people are able to apologies instead of make feeble excuses it is much more acceptable. Particularly when paying ~£100 per head. It seemed unusual with the chef rushed off his feet that he had time to walk around his establishment, notably taking no interest in whether his guests were enjoying their dinning experience. Here for an end to supposed quality establishments where the front of house staff are not up to scratch. Pay peanuts get monkeys!
Freemasons At Wiswell – ClitheroeI have eaten at this restaurant a couple of occasions, including Christmas day. A party of 20 of us, with quick friendly service everyone served at the same time, authentic tasty food our party felt fully satisfied, the food and atmosphere was fantastic. Very friendly staff and reasonably priced food. Fantastic! thank you la vespa x
