The friendliest most helpful pub we have ever been to.

My new favourite! The garden is amazingly quiet for central town and had a delicious light fish lunch. They have a seasonal local menu that apparently changes regularly. Its still is having work done but if it continues like it is at the moment it looks to be a real treat....

Exceptional food and cocktails at this new restaurant in Colchester. The dining room is inside an old library next to the Town Hall in the centre. The room is amazing, High ceilings and a stunning cocktail bar. Food is very much fine dining but the service is friendly and not pretentious. They stay open late so stay for a post dinner drink and enjoy the atmosphere. They have private rooms if your fancy making it a little more intimate. Highly recommend.

Waste of money - horrible food and very expensive. Would not recommend the restaurant to anyone. Felt ripped off

Unable to recommend this restaurant, house wine for £14 very poor, £2.99 quality, fish and chips meal,well i have had better from a take away, very disappointed, I just wish the food was as good as the staff.

Great atmosphere, beer and food. We tried to the set Japanese meal and were really pleased with the flavours and quality - a great way of trying the cuisine of a different place. The staff were attentive and courteous. We'll be back.

We had a lovely evening here for my daughters 51st birthday ( we did have a bit of trouble getting through on the phone to book ) but never the less they did us proud and really looked after us . thankyou to the staff we will go there again

Zizzi manages to be part of a large chain of restaurants but nevertheless keep a personable touch. The one in Colchester is a place I have visited several times with different parties (partner, parents, friends, etc). The staff has been very attentive and meals served in reasonable time, the meals themselves are always of a medium to high quality and the prices are very good for what is on offer. Obviously, there have been exceptions to the above: lukewarm Perroni beer bottles, occasionally overwhelmed waiter who takes double the time to serve food/drink, amongst others. But this is no Michelin star establishment and if one keeps that in mind and has reasonable (not low!) expectations, you won't be disappointed. I would give it 3.5 out of 5.
