Service was good, my husband had ribeye steak but it was pretty small and not worth the money they charged, he wasn't full up , I had pasta with chicken which was OK , plate more pasta than chicken so quite disappointed on pur qst visit

The Blue Anchor – ColchesterHad a lovely Eggs royal today for breakfast. Food lovely as usual. It was busy and the food and drink took a long time to arrive. We wanted a refill of coffee to go with the food, but that only arrived after we had finished eating. All in all we still enjoyed our breakfast though and will come again.

It was quite a quiet evening due to the hot weather and football but that meant that the atmosphere was very relaxed and we were not rushed to finish. Would recommend a visit.

I ordered the Buddha bowl, less ingredients than before, smaller portion and basically £17 for a medium sized bowl of salad. Drinks and cakes on a previous visit came in at £21.45 for 3 people. I have been a long-term fan of The Barn but feel the food is now over-priced and I will stop visiting
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterCame to Blue Anchor for a business lunch. Had not been for a meal there myself for a long time. All 4 of us enjoyed our meal and drinks. As was a lunch we only had the Main meal a pint and a coffee to finish with . Menu was good , providing ample choice . All meals were good sized portions, hot , presented well and delicious. Staff were attentive without being in your face . Will not leave it so long before returning again.
