The food was delicious and plenty of choice on the menu. Plenty of drink choices as well. The staff were brilliant. Very friendly and attentive. The place has a lovely cosy feel as well and is truly dog friendly

I have visited the Royal George three times since it reopened after Christmas. Each meal has been delicious, the service welcoming and friendly and the prices very reasonable. I will definitely be visiting again, thank you to all the team and good luck for the future.

Fantastic Sunday dinner Wonderful service

Excellent meal in great surroundings. Vegetables need a bit more cooking though. Staff really friendly and attentive. Chef came to speak with everyone. I'll be back.

Excellent meal on Saturday 11th of November for a table of 12. Really nice selection on the menu, and every dish was really well done.

The food was great, fresh & Piping hot too. A nice menu to chose from. Something for everyone. Staff were friendly, diligent and on the ball … After lots of bad press, I’m glad my friends and I decided to give it another go. We will all definitely be returning.

The Sunday Roast was excellent. The beef was beautifully tender and delicious and was served with well chosen vegetables. There is a good variety of Starters and Desserts and the staff were all friendly and efficient. I wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Tasty food but portion sizes are small for the price you are charging.

We had a lovely meal at The Royal George last week. The bread & olive platter to start was amazing. The pesto was so delicious. Mains were excellent too. My husband had the burger and there were no complaints from him. I had the cajun chicken, which was very tasty. The potatoes were spicy and creamy which I enjoyed. The only thing I would say is that the menu doesn't have that many options on it. Great, friendly service, we'll definitely be back.

Our local group ate at the Royal George on Sunday 3rd September 2023. The weather was extremely kind and following our walk we decided to sit on the decking area to the rear which was splendid. The staff (manger and assistant manager) and not forgetting the bar staff were extremely polite, helpful and very welcoming and even offered us the option of all going into the lower dining room as an alternative to the table that they had reserved. This was a welcomed treat as it made it more private and exclusive for our group. There was a slight delay on the food, but what would you expect for a group of 18 with two latecomers and during a Sunday service? I had the roast chicken which was extremely tasty. It could have done with slightly more veg especially some more roasties but the cauliflower cheese was very well received as a side (included in price not an additional dish). I was eating again later that evening so probably all round it was sufficient. Very tasty and very nicely presented well done to the kitchen brigade too. Overall I would certainly recommend the Royal George. The updating and investment that has happened over the last few years (it had been several years since I last visited) was very much appreciated. This venue is very clean and tidy and has manged to assimilate the old with the new contemporary décor extremely well. The st The locals of Cottingham and Middleton have a real jewel. Thank you to everybody. P.S. I didn't have a pudding (shame) but they looked great!

Sunday lunch was delicious, six of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The staff were delightful and it was great value for money.

Lovely freshly cooked food, generous portions and a beautiful setting

My wife and I went for dinner and it was brilliant. The menu is wonderful with great variety. Something for everyone. The staff are amazing. Very friendly and attentive. The food is absolutely delicious and good sized portions. Lots of different drinks available as well. The Royal George is also super dog friendly but please ensure your dog is well behaved.
