A wonderful restaurant hiding in Liskeard in South East Cornwall with a deceptively small front which belies the spacious rooms inside. Sue is the chef who uses locally sourced produce to conjure up delightful mouthwatering food which is a pleasure both to the eye and the palette, while husband Mike fronts the restaurant guiding one through the extensive menu and advising on wines and soft beverages. We held our wedding reception at Tapenades last year and having returned several times this year, this weekend celebrated our retirement there with friends. It has never failed us and we cannot recommend it more highly! A real gem! Thank you Mike, Sue and your team.

last week me, my husband and young children all went to the oriental touch for a all you can eat buffet. we had such a warm welcome i ordered a drink that they didn't have but they went and got it for me. they were so accommodating as we needed 2 high chairs and something to keep the little ones occupied. i liked that there was plenty of choice and that my son could just keep going up for more. there was desserts there too all included in the price of £9.95! great experience going again soon!

A hidden gem in Falmouth- a must for any vegetarian. I myself am not a vegetarian but love the food- it's very tasty and healthy. I like having the soup and roll as it is a very good option for a quick lunch, but everything is good there. Their pea and asparagus soup was so good I went back the next day for it again! The only downside is that it's a small cafe so fills up very quickly, so go early if you don't want to be disappointed!

This place is a gem! It's in the top ten beach restaurants in Cornwall. Don't be put off by it's name as it's far more than a cafe. It's a very cool bistro/ restaurant by the sea- serving good food, coffees and alcohol all day. I would particularly recommend you try and go on a sunny day or warm evening and sit 'outside.'

It's THE best fish and chip shop in Cornwall! You can get a take away and sit by the harbour, which is just behind the shop, looking out onto the famous, scenic carrick waters. Or you can eat in the brilliant restaurant- all very clean, with a modern yet traditional feel. The menu is very extensive with a guide to all the different fish and seafood. The helpings are huge (particularly the children's meal- my two girls aged 5 and 7 share one) but if you dare try the 'Moby Dick' portion. Out of season they do a 'senior citizens special' which was about £5.50 for fish, chips, bread and butter and a cup of tea! My mum who is 65 couldn't finish it! For the more healthy ones you can have your fish grilled with a salad on request. A brilliant twist is that the children's meal is served in a bucket with a free spade on the side. You must try it!!

We love going here! It's great for couples or families. The staff are very attentive and friendly, and make the experience even more relaxed and enjoyable. This is definitely the best chinese in Falmouth. All the food is very good and the early bird special is very good value.

I recently spent a couple of nights in this new superb hotel in Helston and enjoyed a five star dinner. The decor, menu and service were excellent and the food worthy of any top London restaurant. A truly memorable dining experience - you must try it!

Hello Stavros & George, Man.. what can I say. Being half Greek myself, living in North London, and traveling to Cyprus/Greece, plus lot's of the Greek Islands.. I was absolutely amazed by the hospitality from the Proprietors (George & Stavros) and professionalism from the staff... and lets not forget the food, ALL classic Cypriot/Greek dishes with authentic ingredients, with the freshness of the local fish and meat dishes on offer. It's worth a visit.. I recently had a weeks holiday in Newquay.. and went there 3 times. The restaurant is also open for early lunches, so a light Greek snack is worth it's while before indulging yourself into Newquay's high life!!! WICKED!!!!! Jason

Paul’s food is in a league of its own, he twists, he turns, and he hits the mark. The simple menu descriptions let the food speak for itself, you know the ingredients when you order but what then emerges from the kitchen is nothing short of culinary alchemy. A salmon scotch egg…perfectly cooked scallops and home made black pudding a classic combination taken to new heights with silky smooth carrot puree. Risotto brought bang up to date by the clever use of pearl barley as a base. Even steak and chips benefited from the Ainsworth touch. Desserts are the work of a genius with combinations of texture and flavour that leave you in awe. Service is slick and the staff really know their stuff and to top it all Paul visits tables through out the evening and makes everyone feel as if this is their local restaurant and he has known them for years. Stop what your doing and bag a table now before the secret gets out.

Absolutely fantastic - a real "cut above". Visited June 2009 and will definitely be returning

A beautiful setting — double height space lined with modern art tucked away off the main drag. Very stylish yet still warm and welcoming. It has an interesting menu with a wide range of flavours. I've always had the pork belly about which I have actually dreamt and drooled! Not cheap but well worth it as a holiday treat. Make sure you visit at least once during your stay.

I've been going here for years — I remember when it was still an artists studio. I love the cosy feel, the booths, the decor which is a lot more than the ubiquitous fishing net, although it has that as well. From the picture of Marilyn Monroe, to the paper money from around the world, to the endlessly fascinating photo-montages of historic pictures of the town, there's something interesting in every nook and cranny. The food is wonderful. We did a taste-test and found their Dover sole to be easily the best in the town — huge and moist. The vegetables are some of the best, too. I especially love the Cornish smokies starter and the Mermaid Mess dessert. Also try the surf 'n' turf. The staff are very friendly. You can relax here and, for us, it's like coming home.

We rushed in rather late for a restaurant but were warmly greeted and accommodated. The food, service and atmosphere was so fantastic we opted for the same again the next night having originally intended to eat elsewhere! (May 2009)

A very friendly pub In a lovely setting on the Roseland peninsular. Can be a bit of a fiddle to find but is worth the effort. The landlady is very friendly and made us very welcome. Great menu and specials. My only groan would be that the starters were overpriced for what you get. However overall experience very good.

This busy pub is right in the centre of St Mawes close to thee car park and therefore i very busy. There is a sun terrace at the front, but plenty of space inside. The food is good to very good, and the menu is varied with a reasonable specials board aswell, however be warned the portions are huge. Usually eat here at least once when we are in St Mawes, as good food and friendly service.

I had a very bad experience at The Navy in Penzance. Whilst enjoying a pint with my friends, I picked up the candle, only to be told by the chef that, in a very aggressive way, that I should not touch it as it cost more that the profit he makes on a barrel of beer. He then muttered a four letter expletive under his breath. Not a nice experience - would not recommend the place.

Navy Inn – Penzance

Possibly the best staff in any Restaurant. They don't suffer fools gladly and are totally on the ball in a really busy place. food is really good quality and it's fast and friendly. Booking is advisable as it's hectic during summer months. I really enjoy going back to this place time after time as I know that it is always good value and service is tops!
