Another idylic lunch here last weekend. Beautiful day, blue skies but a bit of a breeze. We decided to go out side and they had fleecy blankets for the diners to use. A superb bottle of white oke aged Rioja, fresh and vibrant tomato soup to start. Mains were goats cheese and tomato tart and a warm beef salad, the puddings as usual were sublime, well presented and delicious. Perfect food in a perfect location.

I used to work for the Windswept Cafe and i can vouch for all the staff being lovely, genuinely committed people besides the manager, ruth, who just so happens to be from the very hell nightmares call home. She still owes me, and half of the newquay population money. . ..after being able to take no more on the bully/assault front and walking out. I tried to take her to court, but unfortunately had to attend to business overseas. Now i dream until the day we meet again.

I've been to the Windswept Cafe twice so far and plan to go back as often as I can! The views are fantastic and it's a great place to go whether you want an brunch to start your day, a hot chocolate after a walk on the beach or a tasty evening meal. The menu is diverse. The food it well cooked. The service is great and as for the pudding nights they do on the 10th of each month...they're a must! I'm looking forward to checking out one of the Gourmet nights very soon.

We were very pleased to discover this attractive little deli come pizza take-away open during a cold January evening. We ordered a couple of pizzas which were fantastic - they were cooked in a food fired oven and were the best we have eaten outside of Italy. Good value for money and highly recommended.

food debris on menu, food debris on walls, food debris in waiters hair, chef picking nose in open kitchen, very old/slightly smelly chicken and pork, garnish on all plates was shredded cabbage and carrot - which was so old and dehydrated it must have been a week old. I am baffled and amazed. Please people, take notice of these details. If their front of house, menus and staff are dirty ... Imagine the inside of the their fridges. A positive note, was nicely flavoured sauces.

we read the review in the West brition, whats on guide. Must admit we were a little sceptical, with the reviews comparison to the mighty Rick Stiens in Padstow. But we had the most amazing lunch at Hub, the food was quality and perfectly cooked, hats off to the chef. the staff were really laid back but efficient and the bill came in at a perfectly reasonable price. we were also surprised at the huge wine list, all by the glass. I so wished i was not driving. If in St Ives do try the Hub you will not regret it.

Fantastic meal - Excellent menu for both meat and seafood lovers. Loads of choice. We had seafood every night we stayed. (Lobster, Crab, Monkfish etc) Brilliant place, lovely setting and lovely staff. Well situated between eden project and lost gardens of heligan. Well worth a visit.

Comfortable surroundings, well sourced food not straight out of the freezer. Pleasant staff. Prices are typical for this type of restaurant and bar prices are comparable to most other pubs in the area. New owners in 2007 have now made this place one of the places to visit in the area. 9 out of 10.

Absolutely fantastic! The food, wine and service were all exquisite and in my opinion, far better than fifteen. Cheaper too! ++++

This is a good beer drinkers pub where children are welcome. Being well placed for anyone on the coastal walks in the area around Fowey and Parr it serves excellent food. We know the area well and always make a point of visiting.

Fantastic - Best Tom Yum soup I've had in years! - very friendly, and reasonably priced - if you get the chance to visit - don't miss it!

had lunch on 02/01/08, ostrich fillet on mash with chargrilled med veg, and two homemade cheeseburgers, hot choc, coke and angostura lime and soda. could not fault anything, which is unusual, i'm quite a stickler for detail.a lovely lunch on a very cold and windy day.

Since coming under new management earlier this year, the quality of food has gone seriously downhill! The venue is still a lovely place for a drink however DO NOT EAT HERE!!! Dedicated fans of the Crows Nest for over 5 years, we were severely disappointed on our recent trip. The food was at best microwaved ready meal standard, with no imagination, pride or care taken in the food served, particularly the vegetarian option. Vastly overpriced, and nowhere near the fantastic meals we've enjoyed for many years. A huge disappointment - we won't be going back! As you may gather from this review, we would not recommend going here for food!

Lovely people, fantastic food! I have eaten here a number of times through out the year and every time has been fantastic. The staff are helpful and friendly and James the Chef regularly changes the menu to suit the locally caught fish and seasonal produce. A great find in the heart of Falmouth, tucked away down a little alley at the back of the Chainlocker, where I would also recommend a visit! Enjoy,

We love this restaurant. Happy staff and plentiful food. Always a nice atmosphere in the years we have been going there. We look forward to going to the Crossbow as part of our visits to Cornwall, even though we only get to the west country twice a year.

Chantek, took the friends for a lunch, we had the special soup, it was a disappointment the soup looks like a dirty water with a few pasta and mince and extra chilli, the duck in my opinion was frozen and badly cook. this must be for a cheap people, chantek never again.

Had lunch here yesterday, walked through the town which was a ghost town, no one around. Passed the totally empty Porthminster beach and walked into a busy, vibrant and cheery restaurant!! They have just launched a new winter menu, it featured Game and more meat dishes that usual. We had some oysters as a treat and then ordered the mains. I opted for the Roast Partridge my fellow diner the Crispy Pork belly, both looked stunning. We chose dessert from the new menu, these were also beautifully presented, my Vanilla Meringue was a triumph in execution with different textures and flavours running through it the other pud was a caramelised rice pudding dish that my friend raved about. This place just gets better and better-full of surprises. Just wish they would change the name from Cafe to dining room.
