Sunday Carvery outstanding, using local produce. Staff all very friendly and welcoming. Puddings to die for. Well Done I wish I lived nearer and could pop in every week. Thank you for looking after the whole family.

Maltsters Arms – WadebridgeCalled in today for an Ice Cream Sundae but only Ice cream on the menu never the less we had our Cornish Ice Cream and accompanied by gorgeous runny clotted cream made by Roddas also a local company. A little pricey but very nice. A wonderful location and staff who go the extra mile to please,
The Cove – FalmouthFive of us and the dog mostly enjoyed our afternoon at this lovely cafe in Rock. Our waitress was charming and the whole experience was what we were looking for after a day on the beach with a choice of great food for everyone. The only blot on the landscape was the pernicious manageress sat inside in the corner making totally inappropriate comments about her waiting staff. I would NOT revisit this cafe if I knew she was going to be there as I find it unacceptable behaviour to cause an atmosphere of fear in your staff that obvious. We were sat outside and we could still hear her.
Blue Tomato Cafe – WadebridgeI visited Cribb on Saturday and had the jerk chicken the chicken was so soft it just melted in the mouth and taste was to die for also had a tropical cocktail which was so tasty and well worth the money. On Monday morning I had breakfast there I had granary toast and marmalade the toast consisted of 2 very thick slices of bread and was delicious. The staff and owner made me feel at home for which I would like to thank them. I would highly recommend a visit if in Falmouth
Cribb Dine and Lounge – Falmouthgreat people great food
Green Chilli – NewquayWent here in 2004. Had some very tasty dishes. The dish with roasted potatoes, chicken, vegetables and chorizo with chilli oil was quite memorable. Good atmosphere and service.
Alvorada Portugese Restaurant – MevagisseyNot really a restaurant. A B&B serving breakfasts only. These were enormous, and staff happy to serve anything you wanted for breakfast. There were cereals, cooked breakfasts (cooked fresh to order), and toast. Plus coffee, tea and two types of fruit juice each day. Excellent value for money.
Pendeen Hotel – NewquayReally nice restaurant. The staff are attentive and work very hard to keep everyone happy. The food is varied and is tasty and beautifully presented. It's menus change by the season and there's a very nice atmosphere about the place.
Mannings – TruroAbsolutely fantastic food and view. Arty creates interesting combinations and the food is locally sourced and seasonal for the most part. The decor is modern and unfussy, and I found the waiting staff to be attentive and whilst it's a bit pricey, I do believe you get what you pay for. In this case, a wonderful memorable meal.
The Cove – FalmouthReally friendly staff, and a great choice of locally sourced food, nicely presented. The winelist is well thought out, and the decor (esp the individual hand towels) is mellow and suited to a cellar style environment. Well worth a visit.
Hut, The – FalmouthWe had a family lunch at Kota and were very pleasantly surprised to find such a restaurant in this part of Cornwall. The food was delightful and beautifully presented, service was very attentive and the location is right on the harbour side. I've said average for the price as it compares favourably with gastro pub prices here on the Lizard but the food is of a much higher standard. Do go try it out for yourself - you will not be disappointed.
Kota Kai – HelstonOne word Fantastic!! they did everything they could even arranging flowers and ordering fresh lobster Thankyou!!
Maltsters Arms – WadebridgeMyself and my partner went to The Cat last Saturday night for food and drink and were not disappointed!! The place is cool in the extreme in terms of design and decor and complimented by wonderful food and amazing crafted cocktails plus some wacky draught beers. We will happily return and recommend too
One Eyed Cat Bar and Restaurant – TruroExcellent chilli beef starter, beautiful fillet steak. On second visit had pasta main course, beautiful but not enough! Cooking and service very high standard but a bit pricey but so were all the other restaurants in the area.
Seven Bays Bistro – PadstowWith the departure of the locally-owned Cafe Citron from Lemon Street comes the march of the mainstream and the arrival of Pizza Express wearing its Sunday Best. Wedging an ASK restaurant into Truro must have been a challenge for it's owners....to come into one of the UK's smallest cities, around the corner from it's well established, well known and well loved older brother. An older brother that lives in the beautiful old Coinage Hall on the main town 'square', not just tasty unfussy food, but a great dining room to eat it in. Compare this with what ASK has moved into; 2 long narrow ground floor shops with the window at one end. It's done a great job! The design is well thought out and makes good use of what space is available. The staff too deserve praise, being friendly and who wait the seemingly large number of tables with speed and professionalism. And there lies the rub....so many tables, one kitchen, a national chain with targets to meet. The food was safe, average and sterile. I'm sure the chef would love to do more, but it won't happen here. With current TV fashion suggesting we enjoy local, fresh, unfussy dishes then this is not the place. If you fancy pizza/pasta then head round the corner for the same stuff one quid cheaper at Pizza Express. For great tasting restaurant food, just look around. Truro has plenty - with Gaudis, Mannings and Bustophers all within a 5 minute walk.
ASK – TruroWalked past one night and it was buzzing, though the window you can see the kitchen and the girls working like Trojans and it was packed out inside and with people queuing to get a table. Mental note to come back another time as we had already eaten at "the mex" another must try in St Ives, that evening. We came back on Monday night, walk through the door and the smells and sounds hit your senses, loved the informality, no table bookings taken just hang out till they can seat you about 10mins that’s all, the communal benches, the recycles cardboard seats, no frilly place settings here, a simple jug of cutlery on the table to help yourself all adds to the experience. Starters were sardines. Fresh from the sea done on the griddle. That’s it nothing added or taken away just a squeeze of lime or lemon if you wish, they were awesome. Chillies burger with blue cheese all homemade, the sauce was out of this world with chillies lemon grass and lime that gave it a tangy bite with out being overbearing. But then the best kept secret.” the pudding" described as amazing chocolate fudge brownie it was that good that i cannot possibly even try to describe it, suffice to say we had a second helping. A unique dining experience and well worth the effort to find it !
Blas Burgerworks – St IvesWe have eaten at this restaurant a few times and every time the food has been outstanding. Probably one of the best fish restaurants in Cornwall. Excellent service and very often the chef/proprietor comes out and has a word with the diners at each table to make sure that they are satisfied - excellent all round.
Waves – PadstowI've eaten here twice so far and have already enquired about a Christmas booking. There could be a little more between the small and large roasts (an extra potato or two, perhaps. It looks as though you only get one extra slice of meat for your extra £1). There's a fantastic selection of desserts but be warned, they're very large portions! I have seen people taking left-overs home with them though. All in all one of the better places to eat in Cornwall at present.
