What a jewel in the area. I was astounded by the quality of the cuisine and service at Tiandi which was more than a match for quality restaurants in London

Tiandi – BudeI would like to write the first review on Bustophers since its renovation after a recent night out there with my wife and daughter. That horrid dark interior has now been replaced with a fantastically stylish, bright interior - they've spent a few bob on it I would imagine. But I'm sure it will pay off because as soon as you walk in the door, this place looks the business! The greeting was somewhat disappointing however - the bar and waiting staff are dressed in a traditional French brasserie style, which would lead one into hoping the service would be of a similar fashion. However, without meaning to be unduly rude I felt that, after spending a whole evening being served by these people, they are all looks and no brains (except for one young man, whom I believe to be the manager - his service was courteous and knowledgeable). The menu was appetizing - there are many dishes on there that I would like to come back again and try. That night we had parfait and moules to start, both of which were delicious, then the cod and seabass off the specials board and the duck off the main menu. These were absolutely exquisite! The seafood dishes are by far the best you can get in Truro - so fresh and flavoursome, with sauces to match. As expected, the duck was fantastic too. We are so glad that Simon, the head chef, has moved to Truro as now we don't have to travel half so far to taste what we believe is the best cooking in Cornwall - my wife and I are two of his avid followers! The wine menu I must say is just as excellent as the food menu - some real thought has gone into matching it with the style of the restaurant's food. The brandy and cider range were good too. Finally, somewhere exciting for adults to go out to wine and dine in style. I would definitely recommend a visit! Ian and Annie
Bustophers Bar and Bistro – TruroWe loved it so much we dined there three times in the week we stayed on the Lizard! Absolute fantastic to enjoy real food cooked properly. Great ingredients - lots of local and organic produce - made into really delicious meals. Small menu (which I find reassuring personally) that changes daily. Fantastic vegetarian options and they were great about me being coeliac - even produced their own gluten-free bread! And I could have a pudding other than ice cream - a miracle!
Greenhouse Organic Restaurant – The LizardExcellent, delicious, well presented food in unpretentious surroundings. Hope to visit again.
Navy Inn – PenzanceWe had our staff do here, we had a Xmas menu which was lovely especially the veggie option. The staff could have been cheerier! The tables were set out with posh Xmas extras which went down well. The only downside were that our party were split up onto opposite sides of the room instead of together. I would really like to go again for next Xmas.
The Garden Bar and Restaurant – PenzanceWe have been regular visitors to the Halzaphron Inn ever since Angela Thomas and her late, much missed, husband, Harry, and she took it over when they decided they needed a less stressful place to run than Nansloe Manor in Helston. Angela and her second in command, Mike, make the place run like clockwork, turning out excellent meals. If one could bottle Angela's ringing, operatic laugh, one could market it as a sure cure for the blues.
Halzephron Inn, The – The LizardThe Hut lies just off the main street in the centre of town. You enter down the steps to find a cosy but contemporary decor. The menu reflects the location serving seafood, game and steak with vegetarian dishes too. I like this place because they use quality ingredients, cook them well and serve decent portions without fuss. A wonderful little find in Falmouth! Opening times - from 6pm daily Prices - starters £4-7 - main courses £11-18 including side orders - dessert £5 - house wine £11
Hut, The – Falmouthshort but very good selection of choices. Options include some main courses as starters and my field mushrooms were excellent. Also shallot risotto perfect. Generous proportions and main course "Rack and black" (lamb and boudin noir) excellent. Fantastic wine list with good selections of whites and reds from old and new world plus (unusual for cornwall) a fine wine list. For the quality and variety, the pricing is terrific. It is a small and intimate place and if you want very good food in unpretentious surroundings make sure you book.
Trewithen Restaurant – LostwithielWoW Great food in a pub at pub prices!
Navy Inn – Penzancewe visited the old schoolhouse for my others birthday. the menu was mainly local seafood and was extremely good, but there was a small selection of local meats such as cornish lamb which one of our guests had. the restaurant is small but very well organised the bar and waiting staff were extremely attentive and helpful, we ate our frst course on their lovely patio, and found the whole experience very relaxing and the food superb. this restaurant is not cheap but definitely worth the cost.... Go and try it.
Old Schoolhouse Hotel and Restaurant – Port IsaacA friendly and welcoming pub. Offering a lovely carvery in relaxed surroundings. Landlord and lady very nice!

The Cove – FalmouthI'm hesitant to write this review, as I almost don't want anyone to know about this gem of a place in case it gets spoilt by the masses!! Mount Haven is a truly special place to stay - beautiful location with fab views; food is so fresh, delicious and there? always lots of choice - complemented by the selection of daily specials; the hotel itself is tastefully decorated and the rooms are more than comfortable (and the fresh flowers make them smell gorgeous, not to mention the posh smellies in the bathroom to make all us girlies smell gorgeous!). We've been there for two long weekends this year and can't wait to go back again! The staff can't do enough for you, and it is truly a wonderful place to switch off, relax and be spoilt! THANK YOU Mount Haven.... hope to see you soon xx

Cornish Range – PenzanceThis is a great place to eat, we tried it for Sunday lunch, the quality of the food was superb, slow cooked lamb with the best quality veg. Lovely puds and a special vegetarian meal was made to order. Nothing is too much hassle, The chef/owner is friendly and the atmosphere is great. There arent many Organic places around and you should try this one.
Greenhouse Organic Restaurant – The LizardWe love this restaurant, we tried the special regular local Food Hero night where the menu features local suppliers produce. The food both vegetarian and carnivore was as usual excellent from start to finish. I especially enjoyed a confit of rabbit, served with beautiful leaves and an amazing dressing. The staff were professional and efficient, a rarity in Cornwall. Try it!
