The Cove – FalmouthI'm hesitant to write this review, as I almost don't want anyone to know about this gem of a place in case it gets spoilt by the masses!! Mount Haven is a truly special place to stay - beautiful location with fab views; food is so fresh, delicious and there? always lots of choice - complemented by the selection of daily specials; the hotel itself is tastefully decorated and the rooms are more than comfortable (and the fresh flowers make them smell gorgeous, not to mention the posh smellies in the bathroom to make all us girlies smell gorgeous!). We've been there for two long weekends this year and can't wait to go back again! The staff can't do enough for you, and it is truly a wonderful place to switch off, relax and be spoilt! THANK YOU Mount Haven.... hope to see you soon xx
Mount Haven Hotel and Restaurant – MarazionA perfect night out was had by all. Amazing food, especially the puddings!! Wonderful atmosphere and friendly staff made us feel very welcome. We will be back - would recommend to anyone.
Cornish Range – PenzanceThis is a great place to eat, we tried it for Sunday lunch, the quality of the food was superb, slow cooked lamb with the best quality veg. Lovely puds and a special vegetarian meal was made to order. Nothing is too much hassle, The chef/owner is friendly and the atmosphere is great. There arent many Organic places around and you should try this one.
Greenhouse Organic Restaurant – The LizardWe love this restaurant, we tried the special regular local Food Hero night where the menu features local suppliers produce. The food both vegetarian and carnivore was as usual excellent from start to finish. I especially enjoyed a confit of rabbit, served with beautiful leaves and an amazing dressing. The staff were professional and efficient, a rarity in Cornwall. Try it!
The Garden Bar and Restaurant – PenzanceLove the eastern eye, always will be my favourite Indian Restaurant. If you are having a big social gathering it? definitely recommended. Food is brilliant, I especially love the poppadom dips at the beginning and the Vindaloo! :) And of course the free shots of Sambucca and Tia Maria at the end! I would also recommend getting a takeaway from there, free bottle of beer and lollypops! They add the personal touch and that? the main reason I like it so much. But yes, a definite thumbs up! Make sure you book though! Always very busy!
The Eastern Eye – The LizardWow! This is such a refreshing change, quality food, amazing atmosphere and smiling staff giving excellent service!! So rare these days! Both dogs and children welcome at any time of day is a real bonus along with proper disabled access. A huge range of local produce in the drinks menu and food, you definitely get what you pay for and more!!!
Five Degrees West – FalmouthSimply the best place to go in the s west for a great night out. Food and drinks to die for and a fab atmosphere last Saturday in a building that is out of this world. 10/10 for everything
One Eyed Cat Bar and Restaurant – TruroThis is our choice of restaurant for birthdays, anniversaries etc. Always really good. Nice, happy waiting staff (it makes such a difference when you go to a restaurant where the staff actually smile!!). Food was excellent, perfect portion sizes. Really delicious every time we go. Keep it up!
Cornish Range – PenzanceCame back again, what a surprise food still as wonderful as before family trying to work ourselves through the menu. Sad not to see the young waiter there this year, certainly lost its extra charm from the service point of view would love to know where he has gone his name I cannot think, Darren, Dan just cant think but nether the less lovely food service ok with young ladies. Young male waiter prob gone on to better things well good luck to the Ben and ill be seeing you again next year.
El Barco – BudeI used to go to Piero's a lot but it has slipped in recent years. They try very hard, it has a great atmosphere and the service is ok (not amazing like it used to be). The food however is no way near what it used to be. As an example I had a vegetable pizza that came cold with large chunks of vegetable and a lump of fenal on it, the next time I had a Lasagne that had fatty beef and for some strange reason ham in it. The desserts are now brought in instead of made and they seem to have become very tight with breads, wine and spirit measures. Still ok and good for lunch but there are now many other great pizzerias in Truro to eat at that are cheaper and have better service as well as good food.
Piero’s Ristorante and Pizzeria – TruroI love this place. It is, just a pub but everything they do is spot on. It? all standard pub food too, but done exceptionally well. The service is very good and will be familiar to anyone who has ever been to a weatherspoons. The price is a little higher than normal but that? to be expected due to its sea view and location. Lots of parking and loads of seating too. Great for lunch as long as one of you doesn? mind the brief drive.
Bowgie Inn – NewquayLou the landlady cooks the best Sunday Roast in Cornwall. I highly recommend it (Available in 3 sizes, small, medium and bloody enormous)
Stonemasons Arms The – FalmouthThe Cornish Deli has a fantastic atmosphere both day and night. With superb locally produced and fresh foods this is a definite must when visiting St.Ives.
Cornish Deli – St IvesWe regularly visit KAM in Budock Water and have ALWAYS received top-quality food, service and value for money. An acquired way of eating (i.e. with your fingers and from a wooden platter!), the food is plain and tasty. Chicken in the rough, scampi, fish etc, all well-presented and brought by the constantly smiling (if terribly dressed!) waitresses. The mead tasting is a MUST, as long as you're not driving home of course.
King Arthur’s Meadery – FalmouthWow! We LOVE Asha! Mine and my partner's relationship has literally run through this restaurant. We have even contemplated holding our wedding reception here ;-) Fantastic food, staff that will do anything they can to please you and ridiculously cheap prices, Asha is the place to go to eat.
Asha – FalmouthLovely food, beautifully cooked in a great location. Service was brilliant and it was an all round winner that I would go back to frequently if I lived in the area! We went for the pre-7.30 special, which was amazing value for money. The staff were not snooty about the fact we were eating from the special offer menu, either. Highly recommended!
Alba – St IvesA few of us went to Onshore last weekend and had a great time. Food was unbelievable as was the service from some lovely girls! Fantastic outlook over the harbour as well. We will be back soon for an encore xx
