I first ate here in April. I will eat here again and again and again. I live in Plymouth and consider the journey well worth the undertaking, spending the time anticipating the gastro-delights that are on offer. Perhaps other restaurateurs should pay a visit and learn.

Very good food, plenty of choice and selection always a lengthy process as everything sounds so wonderful. This is a Pub though and it's prices are rather high so it's a treat rather than your usual Pub meal out.

Maltsters Arms – Wadebridge
Rajpoot

Excellent atmosphere, delicious food and great service by friendly staff who were attentive but not pushy. Thoroughly recommended

We have eaten at the Xen bar numerous times and have always found the service, quality of food and the overall experience very very good. We will always recommend the Xen bar for a perfect oriental meal at a very fair price. But do not take our word for it, go and try it for yourself but pre booking is always a good idea. Enjoy your meal.

I love this restaurant, Since the new owners have taken over I have seen the food quality just get better and better. It's great to finally have a local restaurant serving fresh (not bought in) food... I met the chef Bret, he seemed very passionate. My wife and I are going back next week again!! Give it a go!

I have been three times and every one was excellent! Well worth the cost.

We went to 'The Cat' last night to watch Martin Harley. It was fantastic he played on the balcony so everyone could see him, the place was buzzing. The drinks, food and staff as always were amazing, this is the best bar in Truro and has become the only place my friends and I go. I recommend it to everyone especially on the live music nights

Stopped here for lunch on the way back to our hotel. Simple but tasty food using real, fresh ingredients. Had a welcoming and cosy feel to it - we got so settled on the terrace watching the surfers that we ordered coffee and cakes and stayed a lot longer than we meant to! Dog-friendly - water bowls provided on the terrace. Would recommend it - there is something slightly magical about the location!

Bodhi’s – Newquay

eating at the new Austell? restaurant wasn? just a fantastic eating experience, but a fabulous venue, Jamie (restaurant manager)was so knowledgeable about the menu and the wines to match, service staff impeccable, and at the end of the meal even Brett (chef proprietor) came out to chat to the guests. i recommend this new restaurant to anyone that wants quality.

We went for dinner here last week and quite frankly had one of the best meals we have had in Cornwall for some time. I wholeheartedly recommend this experience to anyone who enjoys fine food.

I have stayed for pleasure at the Wellington Hotel a number of times over the last year and ALWAYS eat in Waterloo Restaurant. On every occasion the meal has been amongst the best that I have ever had. Service is friendly and professional without being overwhelming. Staff, including Scottie and his chefs, are always willing to chat about the food with you. Menus are varied, but always make the best of LOCAL produce, with anything, such as the bread varieties and puddings, that CAN be made in the kitchen actually BEING made there! I now await my next visit with anticipation.

Found this restaurant whilst looking for another! The owner was very welcoming, and we had some excellent mackerel and local lamb. Happy to entertain children, but beware that the 'childrens' menu' really runs to small portions of the adult dishes or pasta, and at £5 for a bowl of tagliatelle with butter, that's not great value. However, it is still a lovely place to eat, with a good selection of wines and spirits.

St Andrews Street Bistro – St Ives
Mermaid

Great food and service complimented by the beautiful view!

we have just returned from our holiday to Port Issac and on our first night the Old School House was recommended to us by one of the local B&B owners. The owners and staff were welcoming and the atmosphere was very relaxed but professional. The meal was fantastic we would certainly recommend the scallops !! Exceptional. In comparison we ate at Rick Steins Cafe a few days later and in all honesty the food served at the School Restaurant was of a much better standard for taste, presentation and value - we will definitely be eating there again - Excellent Restaurant.

Friendly and welcoming pub, with great home cooked food, non smoking already too!

Me and my guy went to pizza express after being turned away from Piero's - and we are so glad we came across it. They were also busy but made space for us and we had a delicious meal which we now rate higher than Piero's. The wine was also nice and not to pricey!! Love it lots and we are now repeat visitors!

As luck would have it they managed to fit us in on a busy night and so happy they could as it is now my top spot for eating when down in cornwall, From start to finish truly wonderful food and service.
