As a big fan of Indians, I have tried them all in and around Truro and can say that for a consistently high standard, interesting varied menu this is the tops in my eyes- recommend it - very stylish ambience- not the flock red wallpaper of so many and the staff are excellent and very conspicuous in their service- recommended

if you were looking to dine in a place with a medieval theme redruth meadery would be the place to go. made to look like an old medieval castle the place is lit by candlelight and you will dine in a thoroughly relaxing atmosphere and be served by barefoot wenches. being a medieval setting you eat with your fingers from a wooden platter just like our forefathers. a great place for the whole family to eat in a relaxing atmosphere.

We have eaten at the Cantina in Newquay on several occasions and cannot fault the food and price. The staff have always been friendly and courteous, we would recommend it to anyone who likes to try something different.

We have lived in Cornwall for over 6 years now and eat out often in St Ives and the surrounding area. We don't go to St Ives in August but we had some friends down and decided to treat them to a meal at onshore as we had heard some good things about this place recently. We booked last minute and could only get a table outside but what a treat they had the heat lamps on and we saw seals in the harbour our friends were delighted. The food and service was excellent, Steve had the fillet steak which he reckons is the best meal he has ever had. I had the seafood risotto and our friends chose from the fish specials board and had the cod and the sole which again were delicious. I'd also recommend the desserts especially the chocolate and orange torte which looked and tasted amazing. A young lady called Ellen served us and made our evening really. She was attentive and efficient even though the restaurant was absolutely packed. We got chatting to the guys sat next to us and they also had a fantastic meal and said it was better than the seafood restaurant they had visited the night before. I'd recommend this place for everybody, there were families, couples and big parties all dining together and having a great time!

Our restaurant of choice in Falmouth. Beautiful food, cooked fresh to order, with the kitchen on full view. You really cannot beat them for quality food and friendly atmosphere. We have eaten there on more occasions than I can recall over the years and have never had a bad experience. The waiting staff are mainly Italian so an authentic air is prevalent. Do not be afraid to give Da Vinci a try. Bookings are always advisable, as they are usually busy even in off season.

Have eaten in Chantek about 5 times in 2006 and have never been disappointed. I am vegetarian and virtually all dishes have a V option which is wonderful with so many choices. You can certainly take a tour of Asia through the menu and I have now sampled various dishes away from red and green curries. I have particularly enjoyed sweeter dishes such as Massaman and Penang curries or a contrasting taste in the spicy Pacific Jungle Curry. The Papaya salad is recommended too. The food is certainly authentic and if you opt to sit near the kitchen you can watch the Thai chefs at work. The staff are great too and knowledgeable about the menu. The rice portions served with main dishes are a little on the small side but then you have room to sample the desserts! My wife is Thai and she loves the food..a home from home!

Local produce, great atmosphere, friendly service and delicious food = The Cornish Deli. I highly recommend if you visit St. Ives you eat here at least once - the smoked salmon and brie is particularly good!!

My wife and I eat out whenever we can and have taken to visiting the BABA as a first option. The food and staff are above average and you are always made to feel a special customer. The owner maintains a very high standard at both restaurants. My only complaint is the menu. It's so big and under the soft lights the glossy finish makes it impossible to read. The food will certainly compensate for this little frustration.

Great place in a stunning location. Service is informal and friendly. We took our 3 kids out to dinner which can always be an effort and were made to feel more than welcome

when found by chance this cosy cafe became our favourite spot. we began with a breakfast of s.salmon and s.egg, next day crab baguette and rare beef sarnies were winners, dinner consisted of an amazing crab salad, pan-fried squid, garlic k.prawns and tiny spanish sausages, pud was the most amazing treacle sponge and C.Cream excellent! V.fresh and delicious, we were given advice on local produce too, friendly and professional, better than Fifteen as sampled earlier in the week! Many thanks to Mark and team, we will recommend and be back soon.

We had booked a weekend at Boscundle Manor last December, a nice break for us both especially as I was 8 months pregnant. Mother nature being against us decided to have major snow storms that day and in a traumatic journey that lasted 9 hours (instead of 1.5) we eventually arrived at the manor at 11.30 pm! What greeted us was surly the most wonderful site ever. Boscundle is beautiful and on a cold snowy night look so warm and inviting. Although the hour was extremely late, we were greeted warmly, given a glass of champagne and nibbles allowed to freshen up and then shown to the dining room where the chef had stayed on and then cooked us the most fantastic 3 course meal. Our whole weekend was so fantastic, we were so pampered with gorgeous food, hot chocolate in the afternoons, delicious breakfasts and the suite (room 3) we were in was so luxurious and extravagant it was the most fabulous weekend. I hope we can return with our new addition in the near future

Blas is just what St Ives needed, I've eaten there 4 times and to coin a phrase from the Golden Arches co. "I'm lovin it!" Their approach to good food is refreshing and they have great burger combo's. Can't recommend them enough.

Chantek in Truro was recommended to us by a fellow holiday maker, and we will be ever thankful to that couple. Holidaying in nearby Hayle with our 5 month year old baby, our top priority was to eat out as much as possible and as well as we could afford. We have not had such an authentic and tasty Thai meal in the UK. My partner and I are both Thai food lovers and holidaying one year in Thailand we discovered green papaya salad which became a daily staple. We were delighted to find this on the Chantek menu, and it was the best we have had in this country - a refreshing mix of green papaya, dried shrimps and peanuts, in a lime dressing. We sat outside in a courtyard, pleasantly decorated with exotic plants. We shared a plate of fresh grilled seafood from the daily specials menu with a dip that was hot and sour but not too sweet. A Malay yellow curry seafood dish was made less hot for a breast feeding Mum; it included more than we expected, with crab claws and tasty prawns. My partner found a King prawn green curry evidently very moreish as he ordered extra rice with which he could soak up anything remaining. Lunch was made complete by a lovely desert of yellow bean Kanang moreng and pineapple fritters with local organic ice cream. I was particularly pleased, as the restaurant offered brown rice, rice noodles offered as an alternative to egg noodles and herbal tea catering to my highly selective palate The restaurant was atmospheric but relaxed with coral lights that I would have liked for my own home and some revealing photographs of Thailand. The food was good value and reasonably priced. By chance we got chatting to a couple of the staff who were very friendly and particularly admiring of our baby which wins points with us. To any Asian food lovers who find themselves in Truro I would suggest checking out Chantek.
