Buzios on a Sunday afternoon was very quiet. Took over half an hour for food to arrive at table. Seemed a bit on the stingy side but very nice. Waitress was a real sweety!

Buzios Cafe Bar and Restaurant – NewquayExcellent! Really enjoyable evening. We were quite loud but nobody seemed to mind! Food was great, loads of it and served with beaming smiles! If only Wadebridge and Rock would latch on to the idea that you don't have to charge a fortune in your Restaurants/Cafes. We now venture to Newquay for a decent meal with a reasonable bill!
Senor Dicks – Newquayit's just been taken over and it looks like the new people know what they're doing. amazing location, worth the trip for the home-smoked mackerel alone. loved the furniture, esp. the hammocks!
Gurnards Head – St Iveswe loved everything about this place, and none of us are vegans, hippies or friends of the earth. they take food seriously which means it tastes good and they're nice people so you leave happy.
Blas Burgerworks – St IvesThis restaurant is the best on the Island by far. We tried out many places looking for a Wedding reception venue and the quality of the food made us book, then revisit for relaxed lunches and evening meals with our guests, who all agreed it was superb.
Spero’s – Scilly IslesSo happy I?e found this place, great atmosphere and for a pub the foods great and lots of local stuff to eat and drink. Very relaxing and refreshing to find a place where you can eat all day and tries to do more than just your average pub.
Five Degrees West – FalmouthWe had heard that Brendan had taken over as chef and that Louise had moved here from the blue fish, so we just had to try it out, we had a great night. It was a misty atmospheric evening outside and you couldn't see much, a real pea-souper! We were warmly welcomed by Louise and shown 2 separate menus; a la carte and the specials. I opted for the special starter of scallops with chorizo, rocket and chilli beurre blanc; a generous portion with excellent flavour (truffle oil on the salad a bonus. My partner ate; grilled Cornish goats cheese and a balsamic cherry tomato salad -a whopping portion of delicious, crumbly cheese. For mains I was recommended the line caught sea bass served with a white chocolate risotto, unusual but fragrant and delicious, the chocolate was in the background and the bass perfectly cooked. My partner chose a risotto of artichoke, parmesan and vermouth- a wonderful mix of flavour. We were stuffed but Louise said we must try a dessert, so reluctantly we had a signature pudding from the sous chef, a dark and white chocolate panacotta which was light and delicious, my partner opting for a strawberry semi-fredo. We were the last to leave and made our slow way home through the mist, sated.
Alfresco – St IvesJust happened across the restaurant on a drive, what a find! This place is right up there with The Seafood restaurant in my opinion but at a fraction of the cost. Tandoori yuk sung (the chef's own invention) was delicious as were the mains of chicken achari and nepalese lamb. Very friendly, great atmosphere and what a setting! Thanks for a great night.
Journeyman Restaurant – WadebridgeWalked here on spec on a Friday night (a bit daft in retrospect) and even though the place was fully booked they bought out another table for us. Food and service was first rate, very friendly informal atmosphere. Chef made a point of talking to my wife who is vegetarian, she ended up with a tandoori mushroom and spinach balti which she loved, my lamb shanks were equally impressive. Have already rebooked for our next visit.
Journeyman Restaurant – WadebridgeFantastic local fresh food. The breakfasts that we had were particularly good. The crab sandwiches are also the best I have ever tasted. Reasonably priced yet exceptional quality and a huge range of Cornish cheeses.
Cornish Deli – St IvesVisited initially following a glowing recommendation in the comments book of the cottage we stayed in, and then again later in the week just to try more of the menu. A very unusual place, a very quaint old mill building (complete with water wheel!) serving what I think after eating has to be the best fusion cooking I've tasted - very rare to find such a diverse menu which is all very authentic. The baltis were superb, the chef individually chatted to us about the heat we required which was a nice touch especially as it was spot on. On the second visit Jules had the beef wellington (ater seeing someone elses on the first visit) she loved it. My Panang duck was very good too. All in all highly recommend a visit we'll certainly be going back first chance we get.
Journeyman Restaurant – WadebridgeYes St Ives is a great little place to kick back for a week but the main attraction has to be the excellent seafood. Alba is always our first stop on our first night and every year the restaurant delivers the goods. I am not going to drone on but will say that the composition of the food has a wonderful light touch, which comes from food cooked by a chef with natural talent who lets his food do the talking.
Alba – St IvesLovely welcoming pub, recently taken over by new owners which has been for the better!!. The decor is beautiful and compliments the pub better than the awful green that the previous owners had kept. Fantastic food, service was outstanding staff couldn? do enough for you. Definitely will be returning, can recommend to any one as the pub is suitable for any age. They also do quizzes and karaoke and have local bands playing which makes it a perfect and fun filled night out.
Maltsters Arms – WadebridgeI absolutely adore this pub, its staff are extremely capable, polite, chatty and helpful. They were good with the children, and let us choose meals that would accommodate us. I am very glad that we chose this pub to come to on our holiday. We came here once before, but were not impressed at all, but then found out that it had changed ownership, so decided to try it out again. I am so glad we did. I will definitely be returning. The new owners should be proud of their excellent pub!
Maltsters Arms – WadebridgeIt is located in porthleven cornwall, The food was wonderful. The staff were very polite and made us feel very welcome. I highly recommend people to eat there.10/10 top marks.
Moonflower – HelstonHaving recently revisited the restaurant, I was very impressed with the standard of service, quality of food and friendly atmosphere. Having strolled in at 8.30pm on a Friday night, we were assured of a table, were not kept waiting long and the food was served promptly. My husband plumped for a very good chick. tik. mass. and I had an unbeatable Coriander Lamb which is a complete meal in itself and can't be rated highly enough!! The only gripe is that the spanking new glossy menus are a bit pants. Unfortunately they are virtually indecipherable due to the gold colour with silver or white font. At £50+tip for two with wine and soft drinks, the meal was more expensive than a takeaway but if you want takeaway prices bloody stay at home!! Highly recommended
Baba Indian Restaurant – TruroWe visited here on 19th April 2006 and at first thought we had made a mistake. As the evening went on, we realised that this was a very different dining experience and that our first impressions were very wrong. I can't say that I would rush back but Chris and Steve went out of their way to make our visit memorable and I guess I can say that they succeeded. Thanks and good luck to you all there.
Journeyman Restaurant – WadebridgeWell worth a visit - great fun and excellent menu choices - should give Rick a run for his money!!! Well done!
