Four of us went early Saturday evening . It was quiet, but the meals took a while to arrive. Starter of bread and olives to share, lovely. It was worth the wait for the mains, 1 Lemon Chicken, 1 Pesto chicken and steak x 2 all with extra sides.All meals were very good.Waitress very helpful. Would go back.

My husband and myself booked a table at Cassiel bar in Cottingham on Friday 21st of August was a birthday present . We both ordered the battered Haddock. Well I had to leave most of mine , the chips and salad was ok but the batter on the fish was awful was really thick and inside was stodgy, hardly any fish was all hard thick batter . My husband actually ate his but then during the night he was ill . I have had meals there before and have been lovely, but this time was really not good .

A party of six ate on Monday this week and received very good service and good food.

We ate on Sunday as a group of 6 and all agreed it was lovely food, big portions, waitress friendly & would highly recommend

First let me say the food was excellent. However,the organization of a pre booked meal for 6 was beyond woeful. It took days for the initial email to be answered . I contacted them and explained I needed to pre book meals to be served at 11-30 as we had a taxi waiting at 12-30 to take us to our venue. The staff were lovely and assured me that despite the kitchen not usually opening until 12 noon this could be accommodated. It wasn’t the food arrived at 12-05 ( all pre ordered so no surprises) and we had to bolt it down . No one was able to finish their meals and this was just burgers and sandwiches. It ruined what should have been a lovely day. Danny was excellent ,It wasn’t his fault,but the order should not have been accepted 7 days in advance ,if it was not possible to fulfill. Never spoke to the manageress as she was never available.

This was our first visit to Cassiel Bar and we were not dissppointed. The tapas menu was excellent with lots of choice The main courses had a good choice and the portions were huge. The young boy who was our waiter was courteous, polite and attentive. The drinks were not expensive, especially the wine. We shall be back. Keith

Bar staff were friendly and welcoming. Food service was very slow considering ther was only 3 tables in to eat. Food unfortunately isn't as it used to be. This place was always our go to, but unfortunately we won't visit again. Food quality has gone really gone down. The burger I had was dry, and the calzone my parter had was well over cooked. 50mim wait for food was way to much.

We had a great night. Meal was lovely and staff couldn’t do enough for us.

Had a great time , the service was excellent , really nice polite staff. Food was really good , great value for money and very tasty ,highly recommend this place .

2nd visit here, both times service and food excellant, easily the best in cottingham, will def go on our next visit to the area, 5 star

There was four of us and the two of us that had main meals were really pleased and thought the food was lovely. The other two got tapas they said it was nice but for what you paid for you didn’t get enough. The price was very expensive for a tiny amount of food.

Had a lovely meal. One of the best burgers I have ever had, great quality. Good service and generous portions.

We had a lovely meal. Lemon chicken and a chicken curry. Both absolutely delicious. It was a hot day but quite cool inside. The staff were lovely, service was good and even had a chat with our waitress. A lovely early evening out to celebrate 60 years to the day of our first meeting.

Took my granddaughter here for a mid afternoon lunch for her 21st birthday. We have been here lots of times, and always enjoyed the food. However, on this occasion it fell short, both on service and food . There were 4 of us, it was prebooked, and when we went in it was empty. So there shoulve been no excuses for poor service. When the food came, we were surprised to find that the menu offering 'chunky chips' turned out to be the usual frozen mcdonalds type chips. They missed out the extra onion rings, and chips from two of the orders, we had to ask for them. The meal of scampi n chips was really meagre. Looked more like chicken nuggets than scampi. The bread on the fish finger sandwich was dry. In my opinion, it seemed to me that they couldnt be bothered to put the effort in. For a bill of £90, it was very disappointing. Needless to say, we wont be going back anymore. Customers deserve better, and there are far better eateries out there.

Visited Sat eve for food and drinks. Online booking hadnt gone through but luckily they had a table. Food was ok. Good portions and chunky chips were definitely the highlight. Would say prices were on the higher end for the quality of food. Stayed for thr band after our food who were brilliant and definitely made the night. Staff were friendly and checked in to make sure all was ok.

Lovely service and good. Good value for money

Got the chicken burger and the chicken was very dry and chewy. We were given a pudding menu which stated if you buy a pudding you get a hot drink for £2 however they charged us full price. When I questioned it they said thats for lunch only however it didnt state this on the menu so they did honor it. They even forgot to give us the drink and we had to ask for it.

Service was brilliant but we thought the food was terrible. We made our excuses that we were just too tired and that’s why we had left a lot because we felt bad to say how awful it was. The burger had a weird taste and the beef in the stroganoff was not good quality. We will not be back now which is a shame as you are on our doorstep.
