Recently had a lunch time meal at the Red Lion. Service was excellent and the sea bass was cooked to perfection! Have been a customer for over 35 years. Fab place in the summertime, very large garden area, play area and plenty of covered garden space too.

The Red Lion – CoventryOur first time visiting here and will sadly be our last. Not the friendliest of welcomes but we were shown to our table and our drinks order was delivered quickly. Sadly it all went downhill from here, three other tables arrived and were served drinks and their food orders taken. Their food then arrived and we hadn't even been asked if we were ready to order. We had to ask at the bar if we could order our food. Our food order was finally taken and our food arrived shortly after. Once we were finished our table was cleared and we were asked if we would like to see the deserts menu to which we said yes. Half an hour later we still hadn't received a deserts menu or been asked if we wanted any more drinks. Yet again we had to go to the bar to get any attention to which we promptly asked for the bill as we'd had enough by this point. Its a shame as the place is lovely and the food very nice but the service is shocking. We were practically ignored all night so won't be returning

The Red Lion – CoventryThe food was excellent. It’s nice to see a good selection on the veggie menu. The food was piping hot and tasted freshly cooked. Portion sizes were generous and meals were nicely presented. There was a roaring log fire and the place was very clean. The decor is a mix of traditional and modern . All the staff were incredibly polite and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. Two meals and drinks were just over £30 which was reasonable for the standard of the food and service. Would recommend for a really decent pub meal.

They had an extensive menu including the Christmas menu @ £21.95, which two of us had, the others had the main menu. When our order came the portion sizes were huge and came with bowls of veggies. They removed the plates quickly and gave a good amount of time between courses. We waited no time atall when we ordered more drinks. We would definitely return and we have to say how good the staff were, showing a well managed team
