Great evening! Delicious food, excellent cocktails and fab atmosphere!
The Carriage – CrawleyThe meal was absolutely delicious. Generous portions of good, tasty food. The staff are very accommodating and efficient. Highly recommend.
The Carriage – CrawleyWe heard alot about this place and all was well with our visit until a large group of youths turned up in the village looking like they were getting up to no good. Food was very good as was the service. We just didn't feel comfortable with our surroundings and we were by far the oldest there and we are only in our 50s! Great for the younger generation maybe but just not for us!
The Carriage – CrawleyStarters good - main was a small piece of fish, with far too much rice Service was poor - the waitress seemed more interested in talking to friends than serving us, and consistently removed her mask to talk to us Atmosphere good, largely because we were squeezed in due to a risk of rain: not COVID friendly though Would give it another go, but not rushing back
The Carriage – CrawleyLovely atmosphere, lovely food, lovely service, second visit, will definitely come again.
The Carriage – CrawleyFood was excellent along with the service they provided blankets as it was quite chilly that day Nothing was too much trouble and so nice to have a new place to eat right in the heart of the village Will definitely visit again soon.
The Carriage – CrawleyWe came in Saturday evening and the service was amazing especially Eddie and there was a young girl to. You ran out of mushrooms for the steak and offered us a free drink which we had cocktails. Very good service and went out of their way to help us. Food was amazing.
The Carriage – CrawleyGreat food, great service, will visit again.
The Carriage – CrawleyWhat an amazing space you have created. Just what the heart of a village needs. Stunning cocktails beautifully presented along with delicious food at such reasonable prices. Have been telling everyone to visit, I just hope I can still get a booking when I come back next week. Thank you
The Carriage – CrawleyHave been there twice now and the food was fabulous both times. Staff very attentive the 2nd time we were there which had improved from the first time when a little slow. Best place to sit was down the side as could feel the heaters and not so cold but they do provide blankets. Will definitely be back.
The Carriage – CrawleySteak very nice & cooked med/rare as I asked. Would have been nice to have less chips & maybe some peas but maybe that's just me. Wife enjoyed her halloumi mushroom bunless burger too. She's vegetarian & gluten free, it would be good if these options were clear on the menu rather than having to ask. Shame the desserts we wanted were unavailable but the positives outweighed the negatives, the staff were great & every new place is bound to have a few teething problems. Will be back to check it out again for sure.
The Carriage – CrawleySecond time we have been with the children. Wonderful food. The waitresses are so sweet. Communication is a bit iffy but that's expected with a newly opened restaurant. The chips are out of this world. My 2 boys told the waitresses tonight they get 5 stars. This is just what crawley down needed. I can't wait to book again. Absolutely amazing.
The Carriage – CrawleyExcellent food and excellent service, thanks for the blankets too!
The Carriage – CrawleySuch an exciting addition to our village! The first visit was overall very good, food quality was excellent, but lots of dishes missing from the menu meant choices were restricted. A good start and hopefully the menu will grow to include some vegetarian options. Our waitress Jodie was a little star!
The Carriage – CrawleyI must admit to being disappointed with our first visit to The Carriage. On arrival things were very disjointed and staff seemed uncertain as to where we were to sit, despite having booked a table. I then felt that we were almost invisible for a while as more customers came in and were served before us. On requesting a glass of pinot blush I was then advised this had run out which I found surprising as you have only just opened. My partner ordered fish and chips and was advised this too was not available, on further investigation however it appeared that it was in fact still in stock. The chicken I had ordered however was out of stock! When I asked how you had run out of so much I was advised that you had not been sure of how well you would be accepted in the village so had not stocked up too much. I did explain to the young man that this seemed very naive in view of the fact that we have just come out of a lockdown and there has been very little activity in the village since the pub closed around 7 years ago. The food was good, not excellent, but good and the service improved after a while but the overall experience was quite poor. I must admit I had been looking forward to this for the whole week-end and really want your business to work in the village as it is what we need, I know there will be teething problems and will probably give you another go and hope for better service and choice of products.
The Carriage – CrawleyFood was excellent and Mo was very attentive . Will be regulars. For sure . Tapas menu needs broadening .
The Carriage – CrawleyFood an service was excellent. Very competent and friendly staff. Given it had only been open for a week we were very impressed how quickly they had got it together. I had the steak which was cooked exactly as requested. I small improvement would be more salad/fresh veg with the main courses or an option for for a side salad/seasonal veg. Definitely going back.
The Carriage – CrawleyI’m new to the area and was pleasantly surprise with the Carriage location. Walking distance to the house. On booking I mentioned al our different dietary requirements and there was something for everyone. Food was very good, apart from the Mussels, in my opinion it was rather salty. I think it was an accident. Nevertheless, it was a very enjoyable evening and we are alreday making plans to go back.
