its a shame the food and service didn't match the decor , such a fab place yo look at, just a shame the food wasn't up to the same standard. we don't think we will be returning.

So Salsa – CrosbyUnfortunately the meal I had at the Pioneer was less than satisfactory. I went there for the three course Christmas menu with my sister and we were very disappointed. The sprouts were like bullets, grossly undercooked and the carrots were unpeeled and also undercooked. . We eat out quite a lot and know that vegetables only require minimum cooking time. However they might as well have been raw!! The starter was goats cheese which unfortunately was too large, covered in batter and without any sauce or accompaniment - only a small amount of leaves which I assume was meant to pass as salad. So I can't understand the enthusiasm for this restaurant. We won't be going back.
i would easily recommend this chippy, very good quality of food, well worth the prices which are charges. very good portion sizes. the staff are also very friendly and helpful.
Mike’s – CrosbyThe best full English EVER.. And great price. Also service was excellent. Recommend the poached eggs.Good luck for the future.
Travelled up to Liverpool from Kent to visit the family and this restaurant was recommended, so took my parents together with my husband on Friday night. Excellent service, drinks, wine. Staff very attentive but not overbearing. Food was absolutely fantastic, good size portions and everything was hot. The only thing that spoilt the evening was the taxi driver going home, completely slated the place and said it was too expensive.....we "should try the Hungry Horse instead, great value".....my opinion is you get what you pay for and the meal we had was worth every single penny and we all enjoyed it.......thankyou.
The Fat Italian – Crosbyfreshly cooked food, really tasty. Sangria was especially good! Staff were friendly and helpful. Lovely atmosphere, really busy for a Tuesday night! Can't wait to go back.
So Salsa – CrosbyVisited this restaurant last night. Service was excellent and staff were knowledgeable and helpful. The atmosphere was vibrant. Food was excellent with a good and varied selection. Well worth a visit.

So Salsa – CrosbyA great find - Went to So Salsa on it's 2nd night of opening and was not disappointed. Relaxed atmosphere, fabulous food and great service. You won't be disappointed.
So Salsa – Crosbyme and my wife and two kids went here for Sunday lunch in April 2010 we all got soup for starter which tasted odd so we sent it back then the waitress said the cook had tasted it and we were right it was odd i thought the cook was supposed to taste before it left the kitchen then the roast came out meat was like old boots we had to ask for more gravy because potatoes was very dry do not recommend this restaurant i would give it 2 out of 10 didn't even say sorry about soup manager and cook need sacking
When this place first opened it was a bit hit and miss for me, however for the last 6 months I have been visiting fortnightly at least. The food has been nothing short of fantastic every single time. By far the best place in the local area. The staff, albeit not too knowledgeable, are very friendly and warming, but the girls can wear a bit too much make up. The owner, David, is just gorgeous!!!
We have been back again and again. Their tea time main course offer is fantastic value. The atmosphere is great.
The Fat Italian – Crosbyfriends of mine ate here the other week spent £400 celebrating a birthday . They took some champagne along and they asked how much for corkage ? they were told £ 15 per bottle !
The Fat Italian – CrosbyExquisite food! .. really would recommend to everyone and there is such a good atmosphere between staff and customers. definitely go again anytime soon. reasonably priced aswell and never heard a bad word about the restaurant! five stars!!
The Fat Italian – CrosbyMy wife and i along with two friends who were visiting us from Australia went to the pioneer wine bar in crosby on new years eve. What a let down! we had booked for the "gourmet? " buffet and had been advised by the person taking the booking that there would be hot food also. NO hot food was available. During the evening my wife went to the toilet and came back with excrement all over her pants as some lovely person who had previously been in there had what can only be described as having "diarohea" deposited this all over the toilet floor. Absolutely disgusting, my wife reported this to the staff who were very sympathetic. my wife had to leave to go and get changed. when our Australian friend paid a visit to the toilet ater nothing had been cleaned up and the cubicle was still in this disgusting state. This is a restaurant for heavens sake, how our people supposed to enjoy their food? Needless to say we left well before midnight very embarrassed for our friends on what should have been a celebratory night. I phoned the bar when we arrived home and was promised by a staff member that a manager would phone me back. nobody has had the courtesy to do this and we will not be going back again to the pioneer nor will we be recommending it to any our friends who live in the crosby area. Our friends have now returned home and god knows what they think of our decision to go to the pioneer. Yours disgusted and ashamed.
I had a meal at pioneer bar and brasserie last Thursday,i have to say that the food wasn't great at all in fact it was pretty poor.I was told that there was a new chef who had a cv of top places he had worked as long as his arm. I have also been informed that if i wanted a excellent meal by this top chef that it would have to be a breakfast as 'top chef' doesn't do much more than a breakfast shift .
restaurant decor fantastic, wish I could say the same for the food,we have been to this restaurant a quite a few times now , the food is a bit hit and miss, the music far too loud ,when I asked for it to be turned down , they refused, so they have lost not only our custom but that of our friends.
The Fat Italian – CrosbyHad another meal last night (Thursday) Cooked by (Im told) Michael Wichmann and Michael Abrahams. Best meal I have ever had. Shame neither Ian nor David were on hand so I could tell them how good it was!!!
