Fancy a full fry up with a bottle of Chablis on a Sunday morning? You can at Saints & Scholars. A group of us rolled up at lunchtime on a Sunday birthday hangovers intact, ordered a full english with Chablis & Beaujolais for the red wine drinkers and stayed for the afternoon. The staff were friendly and joined in with the birthday celebrations. The fry-up was the best this side of Manchester.

A truly fantastic place to eat, excellent service and not as pretentious as The Lime Tree

Café Jem&I, School Lane, Didsbury. The eponymous Jem, the owner/chef at Jem&I (this name has an explanation involving twins but if you want to know more I suggest you ask them yourself!) started his career at West Didsbury? classiest restaurant The Lime Tree before being snapped up to run the kitchen at The Lincoln in Manchester. Jem? brought exactly the same quality and excellence that he used there with him to Jem&I. I feel The Lime Tree suffered as a result of his absence though it has since recovered its form. And reports from friends about the Lincoln seem to confirm a similar dip. The food is fantastic, it? not cheap but nothing is overpriced. The ingredients are all bought fresh from the market and the fish dish changes daily depending on what they found that morning. The wines I?e sampled have all been excellent and like the food whilst pricey it? a fair price. But it? the food that should entice you there; Jem is a master of good quality, simple food. Nothing is over flavoured or messed around with, his sauces are sublime, the portions are huge and the service, poached from The Lincoln, is a feat of friendly, Scottish, comedic excellence. The Premises on School Lane in Didsbury used to be the Time for Tea café and they?e remodelled it brilliantly given the limited space and the ability to look past the stainless steel counters into the tiny, efficient, kitchen certainly enhances the atmosphere. It does have a habit of looking closed from the outside however, so be bold and open the door! (Unless it? Monday, when they close) It? still a café and they open in the mornings with a full breakfast menu and stay open all day.

The food was very average infact somewhat poor compared to other Thai eateries. However the evening entertainment is fantastic and the atmosphere is excellent. Shame they try to pack too many people into the restaurant.

Bring your own booze is fantastic. Food was very cheap - nothing spectacular but you can't argue with the value. Service was very good with friendly staff. Just try and ignore the southern students at the next table.

The best restaurant in the world. please try it atleast once. I did and I have been going ever since.

We went to Aladdin for my leaving do, we found the food excellent and the staff very friendly the only downside was a couple of mistakes with our order, however these were rectified as soon as we drew attention to them.

As Indian food officienados this is our number one destination. Top specials, quick service no matter how busy and ten percent off each time with the £10 membership card.

The best in Manchester. Try the specials. Much better than the greasy stuff in Rusholme- and easy to park too.

Continuing the traditions of the Sangam,the food was graet (particularly the Karahi.Biggest change is the interior of the place,very posh when compared to Rusholme,how long it looks so nice and new depends as the place is likely to get swamped post-pub.

I have been to The Jade Garden a number of times now because it is probably the best Chinese resaurant in Didsbury. The food is always hot and the service although sometimes forgetful is normally polite and prompt.

Fantastic food and very reasonable prices. Quite a small place and very busy on a weekend so booking is essential. Feels a bit cramped but well worth it for the food.

The Lime Tree is without a shadow of a doubt the most 'Kick Ass' restaurant in Manchester. It's been No.1 for years, others may come close but none surpass, being let down by their overpriced menus, snotty staff or painfully pretentious clientele.
