Pretty rubbish really… Turned up on time for our reservation only to be told that the group before were not finished… No effort was made to manage the the exit of the group in the table. Instead we were offered a table stuck right in the middle of a rammed restaurant where I needed to move everyone someone want to get past… Aftet 5mins of that crap and with no engagement from staff we walked out. Shame, because it looks like a nice place.

We had Sunday lunch i had venison he had beef both delicious. Ample portions well cooked veg . Our only comment would be maybe serve gravy separate as he does not like soggy Yorkshire!!

Arguably the best Sunday Roast around! As always, great service and a casual relaxed atmosphere… Sunday live music and a yummy roast, a perfect way to end the weekend.

Good atmosphere attentive waiting staff, but food now mediocre not as good as previous visits.

Great place to eat. The food is excellent, atmosphere is relaxed with good music (not so loud you can’t talk) and the staff were brilliant. We will be back.

Had a lovely lunch here on Saturday. Food was delicious and the cocktails were some of the best we’ve had. Staff were very friendly and we didn’t feel hurried. Will definitely go back.

Many thanks to all at the Tripp for hosting our staff Christmas do. Service, food and atmosphere was fabulous and everyone enjoyed themselves, what more can I ask for. Cheers Matt

Absolutely AMAZING, as every time we visit. Food and service is outstanding! Super happy to celebrate my boyfriend's 30's and all the invites were so impressed and happy. best Spanish Tapas and Wine in Christchurch for sure!

We had a very welcome reception by the waitress who showed us to our table and said she would be over to take our order, but as we were didn’t want to wait we went to the bar to order anyway. The food was slightly delayed as apparently the chef wasn’t happy with his mashed potato, but when the food arrived, it was hot and tasty and certainly, no complaints. We have been before in the summer, so we were glad it was still as good as expected.

We visited the Monday before Christmas and the pub was very busy. We had requested a table in the quiet area near the road, but when we arrived there were some girls sitting at the table. The waitress offerd to ask them to move, but my wife had found an empty table next to the bar. The beer (49er) was excellent but it ran out after the first pint. Starters of marmite rarebit and bread and homous were very good and we looked forward to the main course. Two of us had the fish platter. There were no rollmops or gravlax just a big pile of fried fish with some mussels. When my wife pointed out the missing items the waitress came back immediately with some excellent smoked salmon. The fried fish was covered in thick batter and that and the fishcakes were all oercooked and dark brown in colour - disappointing. We would definitely go back for drinks and the atmosphere, but not to eat. Mick

Easy to book a table. Lovely Christmas atmosphere. Brilliant menu for both adults and children. Staff were so helpful and caring. Brilliant family start to the holidays. Thank you.

I booked a our table 3/11 for 7.30 on 6/12 Sadly we never got our table as despite me calling to check that the amended table time ( as my auto confirm email showed the wrong agreed time) earlier in the day, upon arrival we were asked to come back at least 30 mins later as their booking system had over booked and they didn’t have a table free. Even then there would be no guarantee we would get a table as they had a large booking in. ( incidentally it was a group of people I work with so a little embarrassing to be turned away). It would have been nice to have been informed beforehand - perhaps a text or an email .. as we left the nice warm pub in terrible weather to get to our booking. .. so we left and luckily found another place to eat . Sadly I won’t be rushing back as even with a booking gives no guarantee of a table.
