Lovely evening, food and wine was perfect, Italian in its heart and the staff attentive

What a great place! The menu was reassuringly short but varied, the portions generous and the food very tasty, fresh and authentic. The red and white house wines were also excellent. Nothing fussy or pretentious, the owners have just got it right!

Our first experience of the restaurant and we were very impressed. Food was excellent and the staff very friendly. We look forward to returning in the very near future.

Lovely food well presented. Great service , lovely calm atmosphere. Really enjoyed the lamb, the aubergine starter was exquisite and the Sardinian desserts were delicious . Fantastic Sardinian beer that you can’t easily find. Will definitely visit again.

We had the most lovely meal on Thursday. The atmosphere was lovely and Clara was so accommodating to dietary requests. The food was incredible, really authentic and delicious. This is my absolute favourite restaurant at the moment.

We had a lovely evening at Ancient Grains with two friends to celebrate a landmark birthday. Carla went out of her way to find us a table at short notice which was brilliant. The food and wine were delicious. The menu offers beautiful home cooked food and a selection of wines not usually available on wine lists locally. We were definitely won over by Sardinian food and the use of ingredients. The service was attentive but unobtrusive and there was a great ambience. Thank you for a memorable evening. We will be back!

Lovely food and fantastic service. The atmosphere is great, and we really enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely be back and would recommend Ancient Grains to all.
