Another excellent meal at Ancient Grains. My husband has a rapeseed and mustard allergy and this is one of the very few restaurants that not only use neither- but also no seed oils at all. Couple this with great service and sublimely delicious food- and it’s a treat we really enjoy.

My friend and I were warmly welcomed on arrival, and had the most wonderful surprise when we were offered a pretty basket of complimentary Sardinian bread with paté, which were a lovely addition to the wine we were enjoying. The main courses we ordered were absolutely delicious, as were the desserts. We would have no hesitation in returning to this charming and very special restaurant. Thanks for a super evening.

A very special evening spent with two of my closest friends who came to visit from out of the local area. It was lovely. The whole experience of eating out was the best I’ve had in a while. Wow! When friends we've not seen for a while came to Eastbourne for the weekend, I suggested we eat here, having enjoyed a delicious lunch here previously. I was hoping for good food and a pleasant atmosphere and we certainly got that, and more. A really lovely setting, with faultless, friendly, service, and absolutely wonderful food. Perfect. How fortunate are we to live in Eastbourne with this incredible hidden gem on our doorstep. I can not thank you all enough, we will be back and so will our friends!

Walking into this restaurant you know immediately you’re in for a truly special experience. The family feel and friendly welcome to this beautifully arranged space prepares you for the treats in store. Next time I’ll preorder as Carla suggested but the prawns we started with will be in my heart forever. When u asked for a spoon I was given more softly buttered toast to mop the incredible juice… so good. I loved EVERY second of the evening in Ancient Grains and will be booking for a birthday treat. Do they do special cakes?!? A recommendation I shall be forever grateful for

We had an evening meal, pre booking a few dishes. I’m so glad we went, everything was delirious, and the staff were lovely. We had a lovely evening and would highly recommend.

I went with two friends for lunch yesterday. We had a lovely meal, I highly recommend this restaurant. The surroundings are pleasant, lovely staff and delicious food. Next time I visit Eastbourne I will definitely be there again it is the best restaurant I have been to in the town.

Just exquisite flavours well presented in a cosy atmosphere. A great selection of Sardinian wines, every one of which was available by the glass to try. Engaging and welcoming hostess. This was a lucky find for us when visiting the area. Did a bit of research and seemed like a good option…… but in fact excellent. I would revisit Eastbourne just to come here!! Thankyou

Ancient Grains is the best restaurant in Eastbourne and we try to come every week if we can get a table. This family run restaurant has something to offer every palette. If you are vegetarian (like I am) or love meat or fish (like my husband) their carefully crafted menu will delight you. The wines on offer are delicious and everything is served with a smile from Carla and her team. Book a table you won’t regret it.
