Booked for Christmas lunch for 6. Had to amend to 4 on day. Arrived 5 minutes early table was not ready but just went to bar. Table ready in 10 minutes. Had pre ordered meals as requested but nothing had appeared after 25 minutes. Had to ask then food arrived quickly. Starters were delicious mains -all Turkey and trimmings-were lacking the pigs in blankets but delicious just the same. Desserts again were lovely. Bill arrived without drinks round but that was rectified when asked. Staff were friendly and helpful but having ambient music was quite loud. Good value meal all round

First time visiting Ravelston House on 10th December 2022. The waitress that greeted us was rude and unfriendly then walked away when i said we had a table booked. Another waitress then came over and showed us to our seats who was more friendlier. The first waitress who greeted us came to take our drinks order and again was rude and unfriendly. I think some training on customer service would be beneficial. The food was lovely, I had the half haddock which was a generous portion size whilst the other two in our party had burgers which they both enjoyed too.

Lunch for three, food was delicious and staff couldn't do enough for us. Lovely atmosphere, small negative was that we were seated under the jukebox which was a bit loud.

A very disappointing meal, moved to the bar area a week prior to 9th December which was fine but the bar was extremely cold that my mum had to eat her meal with her coat on. There were no menus on the table nor place settings. We had to pay for our meal when we ordered again something we would not have done if dining in the restaurant. We made 2 orders of sea bass, the vegetables were so crunchy you couldn’t cut through them, the mushy mint peas lacked mint (no mint whatsoever). The potatoes as described on the menu we had 3 half potatoes per portion and the poached eggs were rubbery, cold and yolk solid. We also ordered the pork fillet again the vegetables undercooked and mash potato cold. We reserved my grans 90th for 38 people last January and I personally have been back but after my experience on Friday I would certainly be reluctant on returning and recommending. Truly disappointing.

Saturday 10th December went for a meal at the ravelston. Staff friendly and service was great. Both had steak pie which was the best I have had in a very long time. Well done to the chef as this was lovely especially when having to cook for Xmas party which was going on in function room at the same time. Had drinks afterwards in bar which was really busy, staff pleasant and polite. Would definitely recommend x

Attended for Christmas lunch with a party of 19. The food and presentation were superb. The staff were very attentive and friendly. We will definitely go back I would certainly recommend it

I met a friend for lunch 1/12/22. Staff very friendly and polite. Calm efficient service so lovely relaxed atmosphere. We both opted for the chicken balmoral, delicious and served with a nice selection of veg. We both enjoyed dessert, mine was sticky toffee pudding and ice cream. It had been a while since I was last in the Ravelston but hope to be back again soon

we had a table booked at 1:30. there was a funeral and a wedding on at the same time friday 25th nov we were seated at the bar which was was busy at the time. we waited 25 minutes and got no service in that time, spoke to the barmen and told him we were leaving, very disappointed with the service.

We had an excellent time at Ravelston. Service was nice food tasty, lots of food envy. Having a space our selves meant we sisnt worry about our hilarious conversations. A great time

Friday lunch with friends for my birthday. We go there a lot and the food never disappoints and is great value for money. They were very short staffed but the staff who were there worked their socks off to keep things running as smoothly as possible.. Only little negative point was it was a miserable cold wet day outside and the restaurant was cold.

Lovely birthday lunch with friends- lunch menu was good and reasonably priced

Lunch again on Sunday with a guest from overseas and as usual it was fine. My friend always now suggests the Ravelston House when we meet on his periodic visits. The menu is the usual suspects with a Sunday roast added, but it is none the worse for that. I also have occasion to attend club functions there, and I cannot fault it for food or service.

Went in after the racing at Musselburgh and as we were staying the night there. Great hotel and restaurant was good too. Meals were throughly enjoyed and the fish was huge! Two courses for £15 and the service was great. Modern and welcoming.

Food was absolutely delicious and very well presented,staff were very friendly and attentive,will definitely be back

Been several times over the years. Very seldom disappointed. It was very nice food and Good value.

Tables booked for 18 people Good service Good food Staff interacted, listened & assisted in taken pictures for us The group had no complaints about the food or staff. Some back ground music would have been nice But overall our experience was good

Food was amazing! Tasted great, hot and fresh. Atmosphere was lovely and restaurant was very clean and we had a great table. Service was okay- we felt a bit rushed at the end as were asked if we wanted to pay rather than look at desserts etc and were sort of forgotten about once seated and after about 5-10 minutes had to ask for menus.
