Excellent service and food
Ravelston House – EdinburghBeen to Ravelston many times now. Food always fantastic, good choice of food. Staff are great too. Highly recommend
Ravelston House – Edinburgh8 of us met for lunch. I had the fish and chips and the fish was delicious. Everyone else enjoyed their lunch. A couple of us had the lemon meringue pie which tasted like it had been heated in a microwave as the pastry was soft and quite unpleasant and definitely not worth the money. Staff were nice.
Ravelston House – EdinburghWaited over an hour for food it was quite quiet when we arrived not many in but started to fill up a few people got up and left the young 17 year old was working her bum off she was so apologetic and couldn't do enough for us the food was nice but big let down with the waiting no one wants to wait for well over an hour and half for food
Ravelston House – EdinburghWe booked a table for dinner as we had tickets for a comedy show at the hotel. Food was pretty good when it eventually arrived, but we had to wait for one hour as the kitchen was overloaded despite the restaurant not being full.
Ravelston House – EdinburghThoroughly enjoyed the food and the ambience here.
Ravelston House – EdinburghGood food at a reasonable price
Ravelston House – Edinburgh5 star!
Ravelston House – EdinburghGreat menu and value for money for the 2 course lunch deal. Service was excellent.
Ravelston House – EdinburghReally good food but we waited 40 mins for fish n chips and steak pie. Too long for me but as I say good food and with the half price deal then worth it. Not sure if would pay the full price though for the mains
Ravelston House – EdinburghBeautiful food and nice vibe! Would definitely recommend :)
Ravelston House – EdinburghBooked a table yesterday evening. Really nice meal and service. Are waitress Susan was very professional and friendly.
Ravelston House – EdinburghThe service was lovely, it was fast and lady was lovely who served our food and drinks. The food was lovely and fresh, good sized portions and good deal on the food for November. The atmosphere was a bit dull, could do with the room being brighter and more welcoming like the bar area.
Ravelston House – EdinburghGreat food, the sticky toffee pudding was amazing. Got the impression the waitress didn't want to be there.
Ravelston House – EdinburghWe had a nice meal on Wed 22nd 0ct, we had a wait of about 30mins for our main meal but this is expected. I ordered Chinese curry which was nice but to get 3 prawn crackers was a bit mean,The servers could be a little more pleasant. All in all good value for the half price Wednesday.
Ravelston House – EdinburghWe arrived for food at 7.30pm, for a group of four people. 3 people had a starter and it was about a 30 min wait until the main course. So 1 member of the group never got food until 8.40pm. Steak was full of fat so half was unedable. It was also presented without the mushrooms and tomatoes. So only had half a meal. And at £28.95 this was a very expensive option. Lasagne-the mince was not cooked properly, it looked raw. A half portion of fish and chips was huge. We did have to highlight the issues with the restaurant manager , and they were apologetic and gave us 50% off our main meals. But we will not return as there has been a few people that we all know that have had the same kind of experience when dining here. It is such a shame because the last time I dined here with a different group of people the food was lovely. This was a couple of years ago now. So do not know what has happened to the establishment within this timeframe.
Ravelston House – EdinburghWe booked a table for 3 on Wednesday early evening. We were attracted by the half price main meal promotion. The restaurant was fairly quiet with a couple of 2 seats and one large table of 8 or 10. I believe there was also the final group of a funeral party in the bar. We were served by a young girl and we ordered drinks first, 2 medium glasses of white wine and one zero alcohol beer .We then ordered 2 scampi and 1 enchiladas We were served our drinks and chatted for some time ,becoming very aware that nobody was being served their food orders. I can't say exact howlong we actually waited but it was well over 30 minutes. Nobody approached to acknowledge the delay. We were actually served before the large table who had arrived before us! The scampi was cooked " beyond" golden . It was overcooked. It was edible but disappointing . The enchiladas were good. When the bill arrived there was no reduction for half price Wednesday and we had also been charged for large glasses of wine! I went to the restaurant bar to query the bill. The half price was removed from the food bill but I was told we had drunk the wine and it had been a large glass. I questioned how we were supposed to know the measure of a drink in a glass with no measurements on the glass. The lady then went on to demonstrate the measures in each type of glass . I was made to feel that being served the wrong measure was my fault not that of the person who took the order or the older lady who had poured the measure. After some discussion I was told that the manager would have to authorise my payment for what I had actually ordered as opposed to what I had been served. There was no apology. It really was not the best experience.
