This is a great little place, not overpriced, & you can take your own wine!! They do have a licence too, so I buy a pint of Indian Beer!! Don? let them sit you downstairs!! Go for a drink after at Orocco Pier/

The Magnum Bar & Restaurant – Edinburgh

great takeaway! - comes fresh/quickly and in microwavable dishes. Best Aromatic Duck and Lemon Chicken tastes better/different than usual 'lemon curd' style which is typical elsewhere

Good home cooked pub grub, served by friendly bar staff. Prices good and portions too. No complaints whatsoever. For a light bite or something bigger worth a visit. (nice garden and inside surroundings as well.)

Having read two very favourable reviews recently, one in the Metro and the other in the Glasgow Herald we decided to venture off to The Kitchin and test the food for ourselves. It was a lovely, mid week summer evening and as we parked the car in the large car park by the restaurant we could see a few tables outside with guests enjoying a drink. We sat at one of the remaining tables and were quickly welcomed by a very pleasant waitress who took our drinks order and asked if we were dining. The menu looked excellent I chose hand dived scallops followed by lamb, my wife had Tartare of mackerel with quail egg and Crispy fillets of red mullet with fine ratatouille of vegetables and we both had to confess the flavour and presentation of everything surpassed anything we have experiences anywhere in Europe including several 3 Michelin star restaurants. This is a real chef's kitchen, fantastic food, superb atmosphere and delightful yet very professional service. Edinburgh is the richer for this addition and I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending 'the kitchin' to anyone.

Went to Cafe Rouge whilst in Edinburgh on a friends hen party and have to say - it was excellent! The food was great (I definitely recommend the lamb), the service was excellent & the French ambience was spot on. It's also in a great location just off George Street.

A foody friend recommended The Kitchin so we went for lunch last week. The staff were really good, friendly and attentive without being intrusive and obviously knew their stuff about both food and wine without being superior about it. The food was frankly fantastic. I had chilled tomato soup with basil sorbet which was perfect but the halibut that followed was far and away the best bit of fish I have ever eaten, in fact probably the best thing I have ever eaten. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Kitchin, fantastic food, great atmosphere (love the wine cabinets) and staff. A very welcome addition to Edinburgh's top restaurants.

Late at the Dome when I stayed in Edinburgh 2 years ago. It is undoubtedly the best restaurant I have been in. The food was delicious, well-presented and there was nothing that wasn't excellent. Service was excellent and there was a cocktail bar where we had a few very nice cocktails. I plan to go to Edinburgh in November this year for Christmas shopping and I will definitely be dining in the Dome.

A fine family run pub/restaurant in the heart of historic East Lothian. Fantastic walking country and always a warm welcome in the Inn. Weekends can be busy but the quality is always the same. One of the few remaining family run Inns. The last Inn before you reach the Scottish Borders towards Duns. A great sponsor of the East Lothian Robert Burns Connection.

This was one of the best restaurants I?e have ever been to. I had a perfect dining experience and the most amazing meal that I have ever tasted. It was the lobster ravioli and i think it was perfect in every way. I will certainly go again if I ever happen to visit Edinburgh.

Still unbeatable as the best Thai food in Edinburgh so far...I have looked for others as I like variety...however the Thai orchid comes up trumps and I can't recommend it enough. Staff are cool, the girls pretty and efficient without being overwhelming and the food is authentic and unlike many other Thai restaurants is Thai. So if in town this is the obvious choice.

Visited this restaurant and had a lovely time. Service was friendly, food excellent, little bit expensive but you only get what you pay for. The best part was not being able to choose from the four lovely desserts so the chef let us have a small portion of all four - FANTASTIC ! We will definitely return for more.
