I have been a regular at Buffet Island and I agree with everyone else. Tried others in the area and there is no competition. The food is great the staff is great and they are also having entertainment on new years eve what else but a karaoke. What a great idea. Have a meal, a drink and celebrate the new year in a great atmosphere. If you go past you will see the posters on the restaurant.... I think it is a must to go. I am definitely going to be there. this is truly the worsest chippy i have ever tasted the food was just swimming in grease i should have just opened a bottle of cooking oil probably would have tasted better the smell was disgusting i couldn't ever explain it it was that bad smelt worse than a fish market the other day i went in there to complain an the man looked riffy and i saw a out of date pasty in the cabinet as i opened the fridge a rat ran out the owner picked it up wacked it off his wife stuck it in the fish batter and then had the cheek to try and sell it me as fresh roe i wouldn't av minded but you wanna know what your eating first and he tried to charge me over top price cuz it was a diy job and the owner said what more do you want it's fresh meat x

Been to all the 'buffet' style places in the B'ham area and this one beats them into submission every time. Not the cheapest but comes highly recommended. Been over a dozen times since it opened and pleased to see it has been refurbished. Car parking can be a slight pain at busiest of times. 9.5 out of 10

This certainly has to be something different, certainly different compared to your "usual Indian". I have had a different dish each time since discovering this place and enjoyed it each time. So far I have had Samosa Chaat, Masala Dhosa to mention a few Certainly worth a shot next time you are in Star City. I am so surprised at this place, they make everything in front of you, in their open kitchen.

i loved the food it was brill i would defo go back again the service was really good too although it was really busy everyone had there meal bought to the table very quickly. The staff was also very polite an cheerful this restaurant is truly the best I've ever tasted!!!can't wait till i will be revisiting again x

the food was very nice by the time i got home it was still nice and warm it's the best cafe I've ever eaten in so far i would definitely give over the five mark.

now im not one for writing reviews on food but this place is fantastic. My ex partner and myself would travel 25 miles just to eat here. The food is superb and modestly priced which was surprising. We would spend an average of £20 for starters, main meal and drinks for the 2 of us. The meat is cooked beautifully, and the curries are so creamy. This place is a great place to go for an enjoyable and tasty night out.

i like to go here regularly. The food is excellent and prepared infront of you, and you can start eating it within 4-5 minutes! it's NOT your typical "Indian", and there are many different north and south indian dishes to try, which i have never seen in birmingham before DEFINATELY something everyone should try out!

I went there with 4 other members of my family last Saturday night. This is the second time I have been and once again the food was fantastic. The staff were very apologetic at making us wait for our table, despite the fact that we had arrived early! I love the fact that you can try all of the different dishes and what you don't like - you don't have to eat as they clear away any used plates from your table very promptly. I am looking forward to my next visit - its just a shame that I live 180 miles away otherwise I would be there on a more regular basis.

This is one of the best Indian restaurants in Birmingham. We have eaten in most of them!! It is always consistently good and the service is always excellent. They have plenty of variety for all tastes and we would not not hesitate recommending this restaurant to anyone.

Excellent food, each time i go out for a meal 95% of the time we end up their. Going again this week.

Best Chinese Food in Birmingham for a low price. I cant wait 2 go back there again. Need I say more

We have driven past many times but called in for the first time yesterday. We had to wait a little while to be seated but we had not booked so I suppose you would expect that on a busy Sunday afternoon. The food and service were excellent and although the price was a little more than I would like the quality made it good value. There are not many places where I would look forward to going back but this is one of them.

Fantastic food, thats looks fresh and tastes great. The presentation is what makes the difference, with fresh, real ingredients visible. The service can be slow, you might think they have forgot you sometimes, but it makes for an unhurried evening. Take aways are just as good and ironically arrive quicker.

Nothing in China is as good as this place. Need I say more. Expensive but the best

I was very wary of receiving an invitation to a meal at this place. I'm not a fan of 'Buffet' type venues as in my experience they are piled high with poor quality food. My visit was on a Saturday night and the place was absolutely rammed. We had to park our cars on the pavements as you could not get into the carparks. The service, quality of food and variety of choice was way above my expectations. A staggering choice of mains, fresh fish/salad and desserts including the famous chocolate fountain. Despite how busy it was, the staff were all friendly and helpful and I can see why Buffet Island has such an excellent reputation. I will definitely be back!

Went with a group of ex work colleagues on Friday 10 November. Well worth the 2 hour drive there and back from Stoke on Trent. Food was excellent with a wide range available (even Jim didn't manage to sample it all!!). Deserts were superb with again a very wide choice. Many thanks to MC for the invite and the booking. Will certainly try again when hungry!
