Littledean House Hotel – GloucesterI love eating here and each visit is a pure delight as the service is brilliant and the presentation exceptional.Vintage tea cups and saucers are fabulous. Wonderful local produce superbly cooked. .Lovely menu I just wish I lived nearer.
The Old Dairy Tearoom – GloucesterThis place is terrible, and is not worth a visit. My friends and I called to have lunch, and most things on the menu were not available, the beer was not in good condition and the hosts were uninterested. We went to the Farmers Arms about 2 miles down the road which was excellent. We will not go back to the Hawbridge inn - ever !!
Hawbridge Inn – GloucesterWe ate here earlier tonight and found the whole experience fantastic. A great welcome, friendly (although a little keen to clear away the plates) and an amazing choice of food for the buffet. At £13.50 all you can eat, it was brilliant value and found the choice of Indian and Thai flavours amazing. A huge plus was the amount of Gluten and Wheat Free choice, and my partner who doesn't have to worry about wheat didn't even know the difference Definitely be visiting again
Vinings Restaurant – GloucesterWe loved this pub it is so traditional in every way. Log fires, wood beams and the food is very good, real food and generous portions. Very cosy and great atmosphere. We will be back.
Golden Heart Inn – GloucesterVisited Dino's for the first time last night. Excellent Meze for two with a good bottle of Cypriot wine(Aphrodite), pleasant little restaurant with good & friendly service. Meal for two was just over £60 with drinks and dessert - excellent value, will return. (Restaurant is open Wednesday - Saturday)
Dinos Village Taverna – GloucesterExcellent pub grub , but only served Mon -Fri lunchtimes ....no service evenings . Lovely out of the way pub with lovely secluded gardens . Well worth a visit !
Great Western – Gloucesteralways an enjoyable experience. friendly staff, good food, relaxed atmosphere.
Prezzo – GloucesterI can only confirm the previous recommendation, I have enjoyed the food of Peter (the owner of The ugly Duckling), even before he opened his own restaurant, so I can vouch for his food.Sadly I have now moved from the area and can honestly say that I haven't enjoyed a meal as much as Peter's since I left. I have been back and it only makes me feel I shouldn't have left the area as we used to eat there up to 5 times a week, so really really miss him. I must also just say that the staff are the most friendly you'll find anywhere, always a smile and excellent service. See you soon again Peter.
Ugly Duckling – GloucesterOn the whole nice food, but extremely overpriced. Unfortunately you are made to wait an unacceptably long time for your main course, to which an insincere apology follows, and as a patron you are told 'sorry our chef forgot about you', which seems unfair to the chef to be blamed for what seems to be the incompetence of (what can only be described as;) the woman masquerading as the proprietor. Whom one would've assumed surely would make efforts to discretely rectify such an oversight. We found to our amazement that when we raised the issue about the unacceptable level of time we'd had to wait, citing that we would not expect to pay for the full bill, you are met with arguments and accusations from the the woman (masquerading as the proprietor) who advised us that as a gesture of goodwill she would deduct the cost of only one glass of wine, and proceeded to bellow at us to never come back! Suffice it to say the waiting staff and chef were not the issue, but the woman masquerading as the proprietor was, which up until her inhospitable intervention ruined our entire evening. So on the whole you are paying over £75 for a two course meal for two, and to be insulted should you dare to raise a complaint!
Old Passage Inn – GloucesterThis restaurant is a little gem. It's not the most glamorous, and maybe lacking in atmosphere, but that is made up for by the quality of the food. Everything is fresh, seasonal, local, beautifully presented and expertly cooked. And the value for money is extraordinary. Unfortunately, I live in London. If the Ugly Duckling were my local, I'd eat there every week! As it is, I've had to make do with four visits over two weekends.
Ugly Duckling – GloucesterThis restaurant is excellent. The 'eat as much as you like' selection is outstanding and prepared individually not just presented in self service troughs. Staff friendly and helpful. Go early or book as very popular. Rick G
Blossom Chinese Restaurant – GloucesterI have been eating at this place for a good few years and have always had really nice food. The owner Andy is very friendly and will always make sure you are well fed :-)
Wonderfood Noodle Bar – GloucesterI have been eating there regularly for the last few months and have always found the food very good and reasonably priced too!
Wonderfood Noodle Bar – GloucesterI love prezo, there food is amazing!!! Can get a bit noisy when there is a party in there but well worth it. EVERYONE MUST GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
