Disappointed food was not hot.
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyWonderful food and excellent service that our whole family group enjoyed.
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyWe had Sunday lunch on the 24th of May. The food overall was fine and eatable although my roast potatoes were a bit dry and tough, but the slow cooked roast beef was tinder and soft. The ploughman’s was ok, but my wife was disappointed that the cheese was thin slices and not a chunk of cheddar. When we arrived the service at first was good. However, during the course of our stay, the service deteriorated badly. It seemed we were forgotten about. After the meals arrived and were consumed. The plates were left for a long time; nobody came to check if our food was fine and did not ask us if we wanted more drinks. Several times we had to call over the staff to clear our table and order desserts and more drinks. Overall, we were very disappointed with our dining experience after hearing of such good reviews. After this experience we are not certain if we will return.
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyWe had a wonderfully tasty breakfast on Saturday morning! All the ingredients used were great with good quality sausage and bacon. The deal at the time was £10 for a full English - excellent value for money! Compliments to the chef and a big shout out to our waitress Tracey who was very welcoming and friendly at all times and gave us some excellent local information, including where we could park for free (!) in Chipping Sodbury!
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyCame to watch Badminton Horse Trials and not knowing the area took a chance on a Family run pub. That g as able certainly paid off. Lovely atmosphere and excellent food.
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyMy wife and I have have eaten here a few times with my parents who live close by. The food has been excellent every time. The homemade pies fantastic. There's usually a selection of three pies in a shortcrust pastry and they are delicious. Their pavlova is another favourite of mine. All the food is well-prepared and presented and offers excellent value for money. My father commented that the scampi had decent size prawns inside the batter, unlike another local establishment he'd been to recently where the scampi was batter and mush. All the staff are very friendly and it feels like a proper country pub. When it comes to the quality of the food served compared to the price you pay, this is the best place to eat in the Yate area.
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyI was visiting my brother and we went for lunch, we both had pies which were very tasty. Lovely food and very friendly service I’m sure we will return
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyWe had lunch here to celebrate my mum’s birthday. The food was very well prepared and excellent value for money. My dad and I had the homemade steak pie and, unlike most places, they literally were homemade shortcrust pies and absolutely delicious. The person serving us was very friendly and attentive. I will definitely be going back.
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyFantastic Food. We went for brekkie and it was 5 star. 2 had a standard and 3 went for the veggie option. Service was fabulous too.

The Codrington Arms – Chipping Sodbury5 star
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyWe visited for the first time on Mother’s Day and I must say the food was absolutely delicious and the service was top-notch. Everything we had was really enjoyable and the Sunday roast was excellent. The only slight downside was that our Sunday lunch was meant to come with parsnips, which we only realised after we’d finished eating when we overheard a waitress mentioning it to another table. That said, it didn’t take away from what was otherwise a great experience. We’ll definitely be returning!
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyMy friend and I visited here at lunchtime on 12th March 26. We were welcomed immediately and shown to our table. We ordered our food the duck and cherry pie was amazing. My friend had thick cut home cooked ham with salad and they replaced the chips to chunky ones when asked without any fuss. The food was excellent and would highly recommend. The staff were friendly and attentive.
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyAlways a lovely atmosphere to sit and eat. The bar and catering stuff are very attentive and extremely helpful. Quite frankly a great place to eat.
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyWent on Taco Tuesday night and that is what we chose. Very good value and I thought service was good. Nicely decorated inside and didn’t feel anyone was close. Will go again.
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyA very good visit to this friendly pub/restaurant. Staff efficient and helpful, food was good and enjoyed by all. I had the chicken hash burger which was tasty , but felt it was not good value for money.
