Excellent, tasty food , friendly, helpful service and a warm atmosphere .

This has been one of our favourite places to eat for a while. We went for Sunday Lunch last weekend 13th December and the food was absolutely fantastic, very tasty and enjoyable Remembering the Covid conditions we are living in there is a small and expected wait for a drink with everyone seated and table service but the food was very quickly served once the order was given. We certainly look forward to visiting again.

Wow this place was lovely inside and we got to say one of the best roast dinners we’ve had in a long time and plenty of meat, we even had to take a lot of home for sandwiches on Monday. Only negative was the tiny pot cauliflower cheese which was expected to serve 4 - we got 1 floret each and wasn’t allowed no more. Booked this based on reviews via trip advisor as we were visiting Perrygrove which was 2 minutes away and was a lovely find and good value for money. Staff could of seemed happier tho but times are different.

We’re so lucky to have this place just down the road. Without doubt the best Sunday roast. Great service despite COVID restrictions. Not that we had it this time but the ‘5 reasons to love Christmas’ is probably the best dessert ever.

Had an amazing Sunday lunch yesterday, food was, as usual, outstanding. Service excellent and it was all done with Covid in mind .

We had a lovely dinner 10th of December. Booking on line was a breeze and we arrived to a lovely table. Suberb service and every starter and main were so delicious. We took pictures and they make you drool! Best Fish Cakes, Best Calamari, Best Best Best, Sticky Toffee Pudding. We are most certainly heading back your way next time we venture out to the countryside. Thank you!

Lovely Mexican themed meal. Food was delicious. Staff were very attentive and even in these strange times there was a good atmosphere .

Quite a journey on a dark, foggy night but well worth the effort. Absolutely beautiful fish and chips. Crispy, light batter and chunky chips. The ‘mushy’ peas were crushed garden peas which were disappointing but tastes differ! Great Covid-19 regs in place. Well done The Miners.

Had a lovely meal at the Croft Restaurant. The staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The meal was very nice and would definitely go back there.

We eat here often and have never had a bad Meal. The food is outstanding. The flavours are amazing and it is always extremely well presented. The staff and the service are excellent.

It was so good to be back on a Monday evening after the recent second lockdown. Rules have changed somewhat because of new restrictions, but they were carefully explained in our booking confirmation, so that we knew exactly what to do on arrival. As two 'vulnerable' older adults we were very aware of needed to feel safely distanced from others and we had no qualms whatever about where we were seated, and the space around us. The food was, as always delicious. Staff are having to work within very tight time constraints in order to get two sittings through and away before the 10pm curfew. At no time did we feel rushed, but our food arrived very promptly and was beautifully presented and piping hot. My cod and salmon fishcake was crisp on the outside and moist and perfectly cooked inside. It was surrounded by a gorgeous sauce and fresh spinach. It is not a huge portion, but for me was just right and I relished every mouthful. My friend had the Cornish haddock with crushed peas and chips and said that the batter was just perfect - light and not intruding on the flavour of the fish, which was also perfectly cooked. This was a large portion, so great for those with a bigger appetite. For dessert I chose the creme brûlée which was accompanied with fresh strawberry halves and mini shortbreads. Every mouthful was creamy and bursting with flavour. My friend's Affogato in its tall sundae dish has a delightful combination of sweetness alongside the bitterness of the coffee - a great combo. Ameal for two for wine just over £30 - Monday night is Pot Luck night and so the food is half price - as a bargain - and I will be back next week. Huge thanks to all the staff who have worked so hard throughout this turbulent year to make things work for their may appreciate regular customers, and to continue to welcome new comers.
