The Crown Inn – Grange-over-Sandsvery cosy atmosphere and excellent food especially the sticky toffee pudding
The Royal Oak – CartmelI was in L'Enclume for Christmas Eve dinner, food was so amazing, they put thought into every little detail, well worth the trip!
L’Enclume – CartmelThe new owners are really making a go of this pub/restaurant they now have a fine selection of wines, real ale and food which is mostly locally sourced. Since Chris and Karen moved to the pub in August the food has improved immensely.
Engine Inn – Grange-over-SandsJust go. As simple as that. Food was very good. Well looked after. Made the effort with my 18mth old daughter. They just need to get a few high chairs. that? the only worry, sorry but i go out to friends for meals they don? have an high chair so you deal with it. Best chips and roasts in the lakes.
The Pheasant Inn – Grange-over-SandsI always have a hell of a job finding this place but I must be in the minority as it is always busy whenever I visit. It's not hard to see why it's so popular -- spectacular views, plenty of outside seating, a good wine list, cask ales, efficient staff, and an extensive and varied menu ranging from upmarket sandwiches to elaborate mains. Getting here is half the fun, I suppose, and when we went on Saturday we were serended by a troupe of morris dancers.
Masons Arms – WindermereWe were recommended this restaurant and it proved well worth a visit or four! The staff were very professional but at the same time relaxed and friendly, the food was outstanding, especially the value of the kids (I had kids meals with my children for three of the nights!) highly recommend, even Molton Brown to use in toilets and buy!
Masons Arms – WindermereBasic, clean accommodation. Good pub atmosphere. Cheap edible food.
Engine Inn – Grange-over-SandsAlthough it was last year when we visited the Commodore, the food was quite good. they also had a very varied blackboard menu of special dishes. Also a nice pint too. well worth a visit if you are in Grange.
Another top quality lunch, excellent value at £25 (3 courses plus appetiser and pre desert) A really good way to try out L?nclume without breaking the bank...guaranteed you?l be back to try the "big one" 10/10
L’Enclume – CartmelFor those wishing to eat the meal of a lifetime , try this one out. 8 , 13 , and 20 course taste experiences. Amazing presentation flavours that blow the mind friendly and helpful staff that know their jobs inside out. modern and relaxing atmosphere with no stuffiness. Casual clothing is well accepted, customers are here for the food. My recommendation - Go for the "tour menu"....fourteen courses and have your wine by the glass and matched perfectly to complement each dish. p.s. The rooms are within staggering distance.
L’Enclume – CartmelOne of those restaurants that must be experienced, food beyond the wildest imagination, textures and flavours that beggar belief. I have eaten in the countries "best of the best" over the last 25 years and l?nclume is by far the most outstanding food I have ever eaten. One of my foodie ambitions was to eat at El bulli in Spain (apparently the worlds best restaurant)...I cancelled my table reservation after my first meal at l`enclume and haven? eaten anywhere else since. Without a doubt 10/10 and has the potential to capture the magical 3 Michelin stars.
L’Enclume – CartmelFantastic restaurant. We enjoyed a very special meal here. Well deserving of it's Michelin status.
