Gorgeous little place ! Lovely food and staff ! Highly recommended!
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe had a wonderful meal here, it’s so refreshing to be able to go to a place and eat top restaurant food whilst with the dog… most dog friendly places are pubs or do basic food. We were pleasantly surprised with this place. Every course was wonderful, excellent and friendly service and the place was full which makes for a great atmosphere! Didn’t even notice any dogs as they’re all so well behaved. Will return next time we are in the lakes!
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe arrived early to enjoy a drink in the sunshine outside before eating. My husband asked straight away if we could extend our table and the request was granted, no problem, even though we had anticipated having to leave to make room for the second sitting. The warm, welcoming service continued and my order of a main course that was not exactly as the menu offered was granted with pleasure. Service was slow, in terms of our food being served, with diners all arriving together for the first sitting of the night. It’s a shame, and our only criticism of the evening. It didn’t spoil our night though and we both enjoyed our selections. All in all, Lewis’s was delightful.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFantastic meal, staff were amazing and so lovely. Especially Lewis. Value for money and great atmosphere. Would recommend and will return.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereThis is the second time I have visited, I came back in March and returned as it was very good. Service was a little slow but it doesn't matter we are on holiday and we had wine! Food did not disappoint and well worth the wait.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFabulous Bistro, Food was soo tasty, staff were attentive and friendly, altogether, a 5 Star experience, great wine list too (More Australian Reds Please).
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereBooked a table for 1800hrs ,we were told in our email to arrive promptly which we did ,had our drinks order taken and our main meal ,drinks arrived but we had to wait 50 minutes for our meal .however food was vey good .
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe have been to this bistro on numerous occasions and it has never disappointed. It is always full so a reservation is highly recommended.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereSuperb Meal & Desert, 3rd time this week, had the Fillet Steak with New Potatoes instead of chips, Chef excelled himself, Desert my Wife just said "Yum". 1st Meal was Fantastic too, 2nd Meal of Lamb mediocre, overall, 5 Stars, Service was fantastic too, we'll be back.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereLovely Sunday roast dinner. Great service. Would definitely recommend this Hotel and restaurant.
Rothay Garden Hotel – GrasmereExcellent meal well cooked also well presented, very pleasant and friendly staff so nice we have booked another meal with them. Disappointed and surprised to see that they allowed dogs into the restaurant,
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereAbsolutely the best steak dinner I've had from arriving into the UK from Australia. Staff were amazing, the Italian Red was superb, we'll be back, our new favourite.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereOn our annual visit to the Lake District decided we must enjoy Lewis’s menu again even though we were staying over 45 minutes drive away. It did not disappoint. The food was excellent and the service friendly and efficient. You know the standards have been maintained when the restaurant is full and there is a steady turnover of tables throughout the evening and people being turned away who haven’t booked. There is a good selection of starters an£ main courses and the portions are not small. Great care is given to the food presentation and it arrives all hot. Cannot praise them highly enough and would recommend them to anyone staying in Grasmere and the surrounding area. Well worth the visit.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereAte here on Saturday evening. My meal was very nice but the sea bass fillet my partner had was tiny and was certainly not worth the price. Service was very good. Very surprised to see two tables had a dog with them. I love dogs and no issue in a pub but not in a cosy restaurant.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereLovely meal, nice atmosphere, friendly staff all in a beautiful setting.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFillet steak was excessively fat and gristly. The “new” potatoes with the fish were not only “skin on” but were riddled with eyes. These should never have been served. The so called pan fried scallops were no more than one scallop cut into three layers. The ambience was acceptable (although the table near the entrance door on a cool and windy Saturday evening was not the best despite having been booked weeks in advance) until the loudest party of 8 arrived making normal conversation impossible. Although not within the direct control of management it is still a wonder why a man needs to shout past 5 diners in his party to explain the dangers in swimming in parts of the Bahamas. Although our server prompted comment as to our dissatisfaction there was no response.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereOur third visit to Lewis Bistro and it did not disappoint. Starters all fabulous and the main courses were to die for. Staff are amazing and go out of their way to accommodate as had wheelchair user and large dog in our party. Perfect restaurant in centre of Grasmere!
