Absolutely lovely meal. Great Service.

Wonderful meal. Excellent staff, very helpful and friendly. Restaurant is very relaxed. Only downside was a dog, think it was a cockerpoo with its owners on the table next to us. Not very well behaved, jumping at the table and getting in the way of other customers, shaking and staring at my wife and I when eating. As I say only downside but you cannot account for some dog owners!!

Lewis's is the best restaurant in Grasmere, indeed I would say in the area. The food is always seriously good. The wine is carefully chosen and always pleases. Service is spot on. Tables are cosy, intimate and comfortable. Everything about this small unassuming restaurant is first class. My partner and I always book when we're in the Lakes and there's the rub, you have to book, theyr'e often fully booked , that says everything.

Came across this little gem of an in-dependant restaurant on our last visit to Grasmere in April and were well satisfied. On our most recent visit to Grasmere we ate there each night working our way through the menu. We have not been disappointed. Well cooked food and friendly staff we could not ask for more.

Excellent food,service and ambience. We celebrated our recent wedding anniversary at Lewis's Bistro and had a lovely evening with good quality food,service and ambience. Would highly recommend.

We visited yesterday evening and we can say without hesitation that the service and the food was excellent We were a group of 4 , two of us had the Seabass and Samphire and two had the fillet steak - they were all excellent meals very tasty and beautifully presented , we also all had desserts which were also excellent The member of staff that served us was friendly and knowledgeable with a great sense of hum our and made us all feel very welcome They had a good selection of GF / dietary options and were very knowledgeable when assisting with our choices Thank you to all the team at Lewis’s for a fantastic evening

We had a lovely evening, staff were great. Atmisphere, friendly , we will definitley go back next time we are in Grasmere. Husband enjoyed the black pudding starter, and we both had chicken mains. I was a bit disappointed , felt it was a bit dry , had ecpected it would have more sauce. I was given a pot of peppercorn sauce which sorted me out. All in all, had a nice evening , will return and try some different meals.

What a fantastic place this is ...if your ever in Grasmere this is a must ...we always book early and really look forward to the night.. the food is amazing...staff are great ...we were in for a birthday celebration and they went the extra mile to make it special...see you soon.

Staying in Grasmere for a short break, we first visited the Bistro on Saturday night and enjoyed the experience so much that we returned on the next available occasion, Tuesday. Friendly welcome, relaxed atmosphere and great service. Food was first rate too. Would happily return if we are in the area again

Excellent all round. Good food, great staff and lovely atmosphere. The black pudding stack was incredible, and perfect cheese board. Chicken wasn't quite perfect but nearly there, would definitely go back when in the area.

Yesterday meal of Fillet Steak was very mediocre, Tonight's meal of the same was just soo different and all round delish, the potato gratin was beautifully presented unlike yesterday that was a heap of potato slices just thrown down on the plate, different Chef's?

Very good dinner but we found the menu very limited for fish lovers and vegetarians. The cooked breakfast was disappointing and the smoked salmon was inedible. Good selection for continental breakfast. We were only given a small jug of coffee for two people and both days had to ask for more. There were no serving utensils for croissants and toast. Really not what we expected from a four star hotel.
