Visited for the 1st time on Sunday evening for the carvery as my sister was visiting from down South. Gorgeous place, the bar is so warm and cosy with the fire going and the carvery was excellent! The beef was cooked to perfection, didn't need a knife to cut it and it melted in your mouth! If I could have asked for a portion of that to take away, I would have! Really great price as well. Had the sherry trifle for dessert and it was yummy! Will be booking again and will definitely be recommending.

Food was lovely and tasty, the atmosphere was really welcoming and pleasant. Staff were friendly and it really gave the Christmas vibe. Would defirecommend.

Lunch booked 10th December for 3 people at 1pm. Got our table quickly. Very busy with lots of large tables having the pre ordered Christmas Fayre Menu. We ordered from the normal lunch menu . Waited almost 90 minutes for our meals from ordering. Totally unacceptable length of time to wait. Didn’t seem to be enough staff on duty, the ones there did their best. Had to wait over 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive. If it is an inconvenience to prepare from the normal menu, they should restrict their clientele to having just the Christmas Fayre from a certain date. Also, the quality of our meals not as good as usual.

Beautiful food yet again. Amazingly attentive staff, so friendly and helpful. The best place to eat out for many many miles. Looking forward to our next visit.

Sunday lunch was delicious as usual. Food is always hot and gluten free Yorkshire and gravy brought to the table. Great choice of meats and the more streamlined system for ordering/queuing works really well.

Delicious food, nicely presented and served by pleasant staff. It is in such a beautiful setting - I always love going there.

We went for midweek lunch in the restaurant and the food was first class with lots of choice on the menu . We particularly like having a choice of a small portion. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was lovely. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back .

Went for a meal on Friday evening and we all enjoyed our meal. I especially had an excellent meal of rare filet with pepper sauce, I would highly recommend, would definitely go back as its rare to find a good restaurant these days .

Food super and food service super, drinks service not as good slow and not all the staff know the score leading to confusion

We often frequent this pub/restaurant and have never been disappointed with either the quality of the food or the excellent service. We usually eat in the bar area, which is more informal. The staff are always so friendly and helpful and always go the extra mile to make our dining out experience so enjoyable.

Majority of food was top notch, two of the diners commented that the meat in the stake pie was dry and the pastry was hard at the edges Parmo, mussels, beef stroganoff and scampi was 10 out of 10

We attended with my in-laws for their Birthdays and the staff on entrance were extremely helpful and attentive. Once seated we were asked for our drinks order and were left to decide food. The food was delicious and plenty of it. Staff came to the table throughout and checked the everything was ok. The only thing that spoilt our evening was the volume of music. We couldn’t hear what the person on the other side of the table was saying because of the loudness of the music. It would have been ideal if we were out on the town on a Friday night but not while eating and trying to talk. We asked for the music to be turned down, which they did but unfortunately it was only half an hour before it was back to where it originally was. It was such a shame that something as simple as background music could spoil our evening when that’s all it should of been “background music”

We enjoyed a lovely lunch at Tocketts Mill. The goid was excellent, the service impeccable and the atmosphere relaxed and friendly.

excellent food. service brilliant.. atmosphere a little too fast for us oldies. Bit pricey for us oldies, suggest a OAP price like the Fox and Hounds!! Music way to loud.
