Service was good, carvery was the best I've ever had

We’d only had breakfasts and lunches until Sunday 2nd November when we had and Can't fault the sunday carvery. A splash of background music was great very pleasant staff polite and friendly. There's a good choice of meats and vegetables aswell looking forwards to returning to a great venue.

The food was excellent. The mains arrived in good time and were piping hot. 2 small problems. When you ask for a pint of water why do you only get half? Also and it’s not just here but why do restaurants have music so loud. When I go out for a meal with friends I want to talk to them not listen to the music. In all fairness the young lady serving our table did turn it down a bit which helped

Not as good a service as usual, waited for a few minutes to be seated as no one on the desk and upon leaving as no one on the desk again , waited and then eventually had to go looking for someone to take payment . Service when seated was good. I had the curry which Iv had on two previous visits and was no where near as good. Sauce was like a spicy water , no depth to it and was runny , more potatoes than chicken. Friends with me had parmo which was good.

We had a lovely meal at Tocketts Mill. Staff were helpful & friendly. I had the blackened chicken which was lovely and the rest of our party had the Parmos which they found delicious. Thank you for everything.

Excellent food and atmosphere. Some of the staff are very friendly and helpful; others less so. Shown to reserved table and waited for table to be cleaned and set. Then waited to order. Issue with the order not going through meant waiting another 30 minutes just for drinks. Drinks finally arrived after we'd already started eating and were incorrect. Ordered and charged for large carvery but given regular tokens and plates so had to challenge final bill. Thanks to the staff that noticed and helped with these issues but generally not great. An "it wasn't out fault" apology at the till didn't quite make up for it.

Had a lovely meal at Tocketts Mill . Food was excellent as were the friendly staff. Great choice on the menu and would highly recommend to anyone who has not been before.

What can I say which most probably hasn't been said before. The food, service and ambience were all exceptional. Will definitely return again before we finish our holiday

We brought my elderly mum here for dinner, as she can be quite fussy we knew there were options on the menu for her. As well as the food being lovely, the staff were really kind and helpful and, it’s in a lovely location. We’ve been a few times for a carvery which are also delicious but will come back for dinner again in the future.

Tocketts is one of our favourite places to eat. Just when we thought our meal couldn’t get any better you pulled out all the stops and presented us with a wonderful steak meal. The quality of the steak was top class, it was cooked to perfection, the onion rings were superb and salad and presentation didn’t fail to impress.

Had a meal with the team from work inside the main restaurant. The atmosphere is always calm and inviting and staff were quick to come and take our drink orders. The food order was taken and arrived not long after. I ordered the steak pie with chips and it was delicious, the pie was filled with a generous amount of steak which was very tender. I followed this up with sticky toffee pudding and custard which was delicious. Overall it was a fabulous meal with fabulous staff, couldn’t ask for more

Had a lovely meal with friends. Excellent food choice and very reasonably priced. Restaurant really nice and staff very attentive so no complaints.

Good food excellent service.

When I first arrived at the reception to check in for our table I was totally ignored by the young girl at the desk. When she eventually got round to acknowledging me she just said how many for not even asking my name then the man who I believe is the manager came up and took us to a table. Not a very pleasant experience to start our special occasion.

Had a Sunday carvery for two. Main course was excellent except for the broccoli which was rock hard. Waited ages for dessert to be served - profiteroles and a flame-topped creme brulee. Creme brulee was lucky if it had seen a flame as it was like cold custard under the flimsy crust. Entrance to restaurant is far too cramped for the amount of customers trying to get in or out of, plus the counter is there too. Young lady at the counter needs some customer service training.
