Definitely the best roast in town! Wonderful food, atmosphere & staff, always looked after and our first choice for meeting up with friends
The Prince George – WatfordI enjoyed my Sunday roast very much thank you. Unfortunately in a party of 10, we had 2 that don’t like garlic so they couldn’t have the roast and 2 of my family that had the calamari said it was not good (batter sliding off of it crumbling). Others were happy with chicken burgers. Sticky toffee Puddings went down well with 2/3 of us too. I would eat here again but shame they don’t do a non-garlic alternative, because it’s a lovely very clean pub and plenty of space.
The Prince George – WatfordSunday lunch 29 Jan Huge thanks to the amazing team at the Stag for a lovely afternoon for our mums 75th. It was crazy busy when we arrived but even tho rushed off their feet the staff were friendly and attentive and took time to make sure we had everything. It makes such a difference when staff are friendly and cheerful despite having a lot to do! The food was delicious- my only minor complaint would be the roast chicken portion was a bit on the small side. It would also be nice to have a bit more veg . But I’m a big eater so I guess that’s just my preference! The sirloin is was deemed excellent and our mum loved her salmon. And it’s not often the sides get much love but the chunky chips were absolutely amazing! Thanks also for bringing out the cake for our mum at the end of the meal - and some very appreciated dog sausages for my dachshund! All in all a wonderful lunch, brilliant team and a lovely atmosphere
The King Stag – BusheyWe went there for my husbands 50th birthday with a group of friends. We booked the room at the back which was perfect. The record player gave it an extra special touch. Food was great and the staff couldn’t do more to help us.
The Horse and Chains – BusheyExcellent Sunday lunch - generous portions and everything was delicious. Friendly and attentive service as always.
The Horse and Chains – BusheyGood food, good service. I ordered the Sunday roast, lamb was the choice of meat. It was succulent.
The Royal Oak Watford Heath – WatfordThis is a lovely little pub. I had the roast beef which was delicious, the beef had a smoky edge to it which was top notch. My son had the fish and chips but after tasting the beef was envious of not ordering it himself. As for the fish & Chips the batter was not to my sons liking as he said it had a sweetness to it, he ate it all the same, as the fish itself was good. Overall a really nice pub would definitely return for the roast beef yum!
The King Stag – BusheyMy sons favourite place to go for a burger! Great food, relaxed friendly atmosphere. Perfect to unwind after a busy week.
The Royal Oak Watford Heath – WatfordWe had a delicious Sunday lunch here. The roast was excellent, the service was great and the atmosphere was lovely
The Prince George – WatfordSunday Roast. Great service but food was cold and a lot of fat and gristle on the beef. Quite disappointed as it’s been really nice on other occasions.
The King Stag – BusheyFirst time at the King Stag. Really enjoyed our visit, good food, friendly polite staff, not the cheapest but if you want cheap, McD's is a short walk away! Would recommend and will likely visit again.
The King Stag – BusheyMyself and my family are lucky enough to live right near the Royal Oak. The food is always amazing, the staff are wonderful, and to make the experience even better they are child and dog friendly. We can’t fault this pub, and are proud to call it our local
The Royal Oak Watford Heath – WatfordHaving lived in bushey for nearly 6 years and enjoyed a drink in the King’s Stag, I had not ever eaten there. I can honestly say it was one of the most delicious meals I’ve eaten. We had the ox cheek and chicken and they were both divine. Good size portions, lovely and hot and beautifully presented. The pub itself was lively with a good atmosphere. The bar/restaurant staff were under pressure but remained calm, polite and had an obvious knowledge of the food and drinks. Very good customer service throughout. I cannot believe this restaurant has been on my doorstep and I’ve only just found out. It will definitely be a regular place to eat from now on. Thankyou
The King Stag – BusheyWarm friendly atmosphere. Food was good service excellent
The King Stag – BusheyRoast beef dinner, beef was nice but lots of fat and gristle. Parsnips were burnt, Yorkshire pudding also bunt. Average at best. Lovely place and attentive service.
The King Stag – BusheyAlways great food, quality drink and great atmosphere
The King Stag – BusheyNice lunchtime sandwich with French fries, but a little bit chilly in the dining area. Plus, it seemed that it was bar service, rather than waitress?
The King Stag – BusheyWe booked a table for Thursday at 14.30, but on arrival we’re told the kitchen closes at 14.30, so we’re unable to order food. The front of house staff told us that as soon as we arrived, and that was latter confirmed by a lady who went to check after we were seated and had our drinks ordered. So we had a drink, and went home and ordered fish and chips from Brothers up the road. So I can’t comment on the lunchtime menu. But have had lovely Sunday lunches here before. My advice is to not to book the last slot on the website, but the one before at 14.00
