Excellent service and the South African dishes were incredible, tasted just like I remember them from South Africa.

We'd been to play at Top Golf and wanted somewhere nearby for Sunday lunch. Sadly they only had one portion of the vegetarian roast but were able to make the vegetarians a curry which was very tasty. Attentive, friendly service. Everyone else enjoyed their meat roasts.

Food was amazing

Had a lovely lunch at the horse and chains on Sunday. Every course was absolutely delicious! Best roast I have had for a long time! Sat outside under canvas which kept us dry! Amazing friendly service. Thank you!

Had one of the best Sunday roasts (pork and lamb combo) for a long time. I know the team there take great care preparing for Sunday early in the week. It's well worth the extra investment. Team are also helpful and cheerful! thoroughly recommend!

This is a great little pub. Comfortable inside with a nice outside space as well. The food is good, service excellent, with a warm and inviting atmosphere.

celebrated the wife's birthday with a surprise Saturday night dinner here recently during semi -lockdown and was pleasantly surprise by how friendly and welcoming the staff where. previous visits the had a very old locals vibe about the place. Staff were very attentive and helpful. At every stage of the meal where able to accommodate and judge just when to bring in the next phase of meal. As a family of 5 ,3 children of varying ages we had no problem finding food to suit and the drinks were good too! Everything came piping hot and the accompany garnishes were more like side salads which is a good thing and not wasteful.

Booked Sunday lunch for 4 of us including children. Pub was quiet which was a shame because the Sunday roasts were tasty - beef ribs very tender. Would have been preferred if the children’s macaroni cheese had come with vegetables. Service friendly.

Wonderful. We love going to this local pub. The food is excellent, the service is great and it had an all round lovely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.
