Had dinner with 6 friends last night to celebrate a 60th birthday. We had an excellent meal, the food was really delicious and plentiful and the staff were really friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend .

The Horse and Chains – BusheyStaff were incredibly friendly, genuine and helpful. The food was outstanding and the environment created by everything from the staff, the food, the aesthetic was excellent. Couldn't recommend highly enough.
The Prince George – WatfordBooked at table For Father’s Day. The staff where really friendly especially our server. The food was really nice, the calamari was fresh and the lamb was lovely ! Shame there ain’t more option for vegetarian / vegan other than a cauliflower steak but it was tasty none the less .
The Prince George – WatfordLovely grub. Friendly staff. Good outdoor awning for dinners not wanting to eat indoors due to Covid. Spoiled slightly by a few drinkers at one table ignoring the no smoking signs.
The Royal Oak Watford Heath – WatfordGreat local pub, good for & service.
The Royal Oak Watford Heath – WatfordCame for birthday drinks and highly impressed by incredibly friendly staff and a lovely outdoor area... had a great time and couldn't recommend enough!
The Horse and Chains – BusheyLovely food and service.
The Royal Oak Watford Heath – WatfordLovely food and service.
The Royal Oak Watford Heath – WatfordLove this pub the staff are super friendly and helpful and the food is put of this world the mac and cheese was amazing chips to die for and my hubby really enjoyed the buffalo wings this is why we keep coming back thank you
The Royal Oak Watford Heath – WatfordIt was very easy to book an inside table to eat then a table outside for later. The bookings were verified so no concerns. I had a roast, my friend had the vegan option and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We both had the brownie with salted caramel ice cream and could have cheerfully licked the plate clean. Delicious! Excellent service all round.
The Prince George – WatfordAnother excellent Sunday lunch at Horse and Chains.
The Horse and Chains – BusheyDisappointing way below average and very expensive. Roasts were ok (passsble at best). However options for non meat eaters awful (cauliflower cheese for £14) outrageous, asked for vegi curry if mild and only when it was served was diner told we cant do it mild so here is some yoghurt (she had asked if she could have a simple salad or vegetables instead and told no its sunday) so most of meal left uneaten. When said could not eat curry as too hot was offered free desert (not wanted) and no discount offered for cost of curry for person who effectively had no lunch
The Horse and Chains – BusheyI was expecting a quaint little village pub type feel but it was nothing like that, it was rather bleak and dreary inside and lacked any hospitality - the food was quite nice but sadly the environment or service wasn’t up to scratch
The Royal Oak Watford Heath – WatfordHave been going to The Royal Oak for 40 years, it has changed hands a few times, Lee & Sue are exactly what The Royal Oak needed to update it and bring it back to its' former glory at the same time. The food and service are fantastic, especially the burgers & wings. My current favourite is the prawn & chorizo starter, the beef short rib is also fantastic, as are the Durban curries. Actually, writing this is making my mouth water. Highly recommended, I now find it difficult to go anywhere else.

The Royal Oak Watford Heath – WatfordAmazing atmosphere and lovely food, but most importantly absolutely lovely staff. Everyone went above and beyond, they couldn’t have been more accommodating and friendly!
The Horse and Chains – BusheyOur favourite place for a great Sunday Lunch. This week we both had the slow cooked shoulder of lamb which was excellent.
The Royal Oak Watford Heath – WatfordUnfortunately poor service. Server took the wrong order and when we politely asked for this to be corrected the exact quote was 'The kitchen is too busy so you will have to have this. Plus you have already started it.' It had been tasted (a tiny bite) to see if we would have been happy with it rather than what was ordered. It was not very nice and the ordered dish would have been preferred. No apology or solution was given other than just eat what you have been given. We were then treated as if we had been rude and made a scene. We felt very unwelcome and rushed throughout the visit, even prior to this. We shall not be returning.
