Excellent food. Service amazing. Friendly. Can't wait to come again

Really disappointing visit to The King Stag for Sunday lunch. I’d booked online, but our table wasn’t ready when we got there……not really a problem, and within ten minutes we were seated. However, after our food orders were taken it took over an hour for a food to be delivered to our table. I drained the issue with the staff a couple of times and they were all very apologetic, but they were unable to hurry the kitchen along. Apparently there was a big table of guests in the restaurant which had caused a backlog, which I completely understand, but that should have been taken into consideration at the time of booking. That said, we were offered a reduction of 15% on the food we ordered, and the staff were very apologetic, but I’m not sure we would visit again.

Fantastic Sunday Lunch We had wonderful food and were really pleased with the friendly service. Although busy the staff were very attentive and the atmosphere was perfect for a long catchup over pre-lunch drinks. We even indulged in the dessert menu which had some lovely options, will definitely have to revisit to try the cheeseboard. Good local ale as well, and overall reasonably priced for the quality of the food.

Been asked to write a review by email. Sadly not possible as when I turned up they had no record of my booking. Went to the Three Horseshoes in Letchmore Heath which was outstanding!

Not my first visit for Sunday lunch at The King Stag with my daughter son in law and grandchildren but always our first choice. Good food, and delightful service; what more can you ask for, and minutes from home!

Warm welcome, had noted my requests for the table. We were there for the Tuesday Burger night. Ordering was very efficient and food came quickly. We all enjoyed our meal and thought it was good value for money. Only comment would be that the egg needed to have a runny yolk and the mac & cheese hotter. Felt sad that a pub offering such a nice atmosphere and a reasonably priced meal wasn't busier.

Great food, good atmosphere, nice people running it and all around one of the few nice pub in the area, Lucky to have it so close!

A brilliant family venue with the best Sunday roast in Watford. Staff are all very friendly and the whole atmosphere is homely and pleasant.

Had a fantastic lunch staff friendly and helpful. A really quaint setting for Sunday lunch. Food was amazing and a great choice of food. Probably one little criticism is the roast potatoes were a bit aunt Bessie's. The rest of the food was excellent.

Another great family meal at the Royal Oak. The roast dinners are delicious, the portions generous and the service friendly. Would highly recommend!
