Another great family meal at the Royal Oak. The roast dinners are delicious, the portions generous and the service friendly. Would highly recommend!

Been coming to this pub for more than 30 years seen many new landlords etc ! Something right for me to keep coming back… Food was good , mine was a tad dry but probably chose the wrong thing we were 5 and all said how nice food was. Friday lunch time quiet to start but got busier as the day went on !

Came for the first time in a few years for a Sunday Roast with the family. The food was tasty and I would come back. As I was emailed and asked to leave a review I will add, we were disappointed that when asking for some extra gravy, we were told you had to pay an extra £3.50 and the reason being was because it was 'homemade' and not granules. When paying over £23 per roast dinner, I would have expected it was homemade anyway. I think when you are ordering bottles of wine, starters and roast dinners, being asked to pay an additional cost for a small amount of gravy leaves a sour taste in your mouth. I'd much rather there be an extra 50p on everyones meals and people feel like you can ask for some more gravy with your roast, without being charged. Overall we had a great day, but that would be my constructive feedback x

Came for a snacky lunch on a Saturday. First time since taken over. Staff were attentive and very friendly. Food was very nice and not overly expensive. Atmosphere great as usual.

Our 2nd visit inside a week. Food and service great as always.

AMAZING FOOD!! The Sunday roast was SUPERB, and probably the tenderest (is that a word?! LoL!) beef i had in a VERY long time! Just fell off the bone! Delicious!

Lovely Sunday lunch yesterday (21/7) Food choices were excellent, staff lovely, atmosphere relaxed and buzzy - our favourite local restaurant.

Went on a Saturday night with dog! We all enjoyed it. As usual, the food was very good and the service excellent. A great local place to eat.

The steak meal was excellent. Staff polite and provided good service as always.

We chose the King Stag as an ideal halfway meeting point with friends and because of their very dog friendly approach. Great dogs walk nearby at Attenborough Fields. Relaxed and welcoming with very friendly service. Food was freshly prepared and tasty. Very much enjoyed our visit and would definitely recommend.

Sunday roast at 3pm was disappointing - overcooked veggie roast and potatoes and black charcoal on Yorkshire Pud. High table and chairs very awkward to sit on.. couldn’t bring high legged chair close enough to the table as couldn’t reach the floor to move it!

This is not the first time we have been here and won't be the last .We Brought family here to eat and as usual it was excellent they were very impressed with the food.There is a lovely welcome feel in this pub everyone is very nice.

We visited midweek with friends and ordered steak. It was cooked perfectly and served with all the accompaniments you would want. Puddings were also delicious. The service is always warm and friendly too. Highly recommended .

Had a delicious Sunday lunch with our dog too. Was really great, the food was so good, an excellent chef, highly recommend. Our dog even sat on a chair at the table too. Husband had the fresh tuna from the Special menu - he said it was cooked perfectly. Will definitely be coming again, thank u so much. Probably the best pub in the area!
