My apologies I thought that the pub opened at 11. Would make sense to open earlier than 1 for lunch but at least post opening times on door. In fairness I have always found OEG to be a great pub.

Old English Gentleman – HullBit disappointed that the pub was closed today. Went with pal for meal at 12.30. Web says it should have been open.
Old English Gentleman – HullOn walking in the place has undergone a good refit. Service was really poor given two menus with no follow up. Had to ask for a drink on entry left at the bar with just the menu. Main manager forgot my drink . No ice bucket available for wine. Bread order came after we had finished our tapas. Gritty prawns and less than tasty calamari. All for £60. I score 5 out if ten, need to find a good restaurant now as still hungry. A real let down, I am a big tapas fan have got a house in Murcia so I think my review is a valid one. They must try harder. Main restaurant significantly better by a country mile. Service being our main issue, service was 1 out of 10, food 5 out of 10, setting 8 out of 10.
Solita- Hull30 of us went to Aunt Bibby's tonight in Hull. The food was excellent, staff were very polite and helpful, really enjoyed it!! Would defo go again! Only fault was we all kept falling through floor boards up stairs, but overall excellent.
Aunt Bibby’s Smokehouse – HullLandlord is a bullying belittling man who make fun of customers he thinks he's gods gift because he runs a crap pub because of this the pub losing customers every day for that matter there is only one good helpful member of staff and that's jim i for one have stopped got in to priory inn and started using the old bottle witch isn't far away
Priory Inn – HullFood excellent - well worth the money - the smaller portions are ideal for my mum as she does not have a very big appetite due to illness. Would recommend this pub to all my friends and family. Will be visiting again very soon.
Priory Inn – HullVisited this grill with my wife appalling service with dis-interested manager. Avoid
Woody’s Bar & Grill – HullWent on sunday july 20th had the carvery with my friend it was the worst one we have ever had and will not be going ever again. The beef was the end bits burnt gammon was all fat roast potatoes burnt veg not prepared properly. Yorkshire puds horrible gravy luke warm as was everything else on our plate. Yes did complain waited ages for some sort of apology but still waiting. It was my friends 1st visit to the pub and he was really mad over the meal service rude staff who came to take my glass away when I was still drinking it. The wait in queue to order food by only one staff on till is beyond a joke when all stops to get drinks as well. Really needs sorting out the pub, was not busy yet waiting ages to order. Needs more staff on tills to take orders I never complain but this experience really made me mad. Also ordered desserts again ages waiting only one couple in front of me got to give my order complained over the carvery was told manager would come over to our table, yes kept seeing him but he had no intention of coming to our table. Then waiting ages for our desserts awful service.
The Manor Farm – HullHi, Thought i should post this as we are so angry right now. My partner is a Ceoeliac. A mutual friend of ours had organised to have her Birthday at Aunt Bibbies Smoke House in Hull tonight. My partner rang ahead yesterday and spoke to a member of staff and asked about the gluten free options available where she was informed they would be plenty of choice available. We arrived tonight and had a drink whilst waiting for our table to be ready (they were 30 of us). Once our tables were ready, we went and made ourselves comfortable. My partner went to a member of staff to highlight that it was her that was in need of gluten free options, 10 minutes later the member of staff approached my partner to tell her that the only option available was a small plate of chillies. When my partner then told this member of staff that they had rang ahead, the response was "the other member of staff was probably joking". We then had a few words with the member of staff who then said they was nothing they could do. Our only option was for me and my partner to get up and leave and to apologetically explain to the Birthday Girl that we had to leave her celebrations, this was very embarrassing for my partner. We will be making formal complaints to the manager in person tomorrow once we have calmed down.
Aunt Bibby’s Smokehouse – HullBest Indian food for miles around beef Madras is a must.
Alachi – HullHave been to this restaurant half a dozen times and can't recommend it enough. Great food, great value and you dont end up getting ripped off on your wine as you can bring your own and the off licence next door has a good selection. Waiters are helpful but not hovering around you. Best indian weve tried in Hull.
Alachi – HullDon't bother unless you live close. I was looking forward to a night in with a takeaway from here but apparently bottom of Beverley road to bottom of holderness road is too far, surely all businesses dreams are to expand? But I guess that extra mile is too much, on another note, there food is nice as I tried a friends, but now I cant personally order, thanks I'll take my money else where.
Larinos – HullWhat a shambles! Service was rubbish! The barmaid kept saying things that didnt even relate to our order! Then after waiting 55 mins for our lunch what she brought wasn't ours! When she did bring ours it had peas on the plate! My friend had already had a conversion with her about peas as we do not like them! We were told that what we had chosen did not come with peas! The only nice thing about mine was the sausages! The mash was unbelievably hot!!Gravy was only warm!My friend did mention to the barmaid that the service wasn't very good, actually it was bad! And she also mentioned the peas - barmaid just said "oh, sorry i did say no peas to the chef" mmm! Not good enough!Needless to say i will not be visiting this place again!
The Corn Exchange – HullThis public house is in need of major refurbishment, the ladies toilets are a disgrace, and the overall cleanliness leaves alot to be desired, although it is a friendly place, the above needs addressing asap, the glasses are dirty.
Saltshouse Tavern – HullA friend and I went to Da Vincis for lunch, and were impressed, by the cosy, relaxing little bistro, the staff were lovely, I had a chicken dish and my friend had pasta, it was very tasty we later sat outside in the herb garden, with a coffee, a totally relaxing afternoon.
Da Vinci Bistro – HullJust a few words to say about my experience at Da Vinci's, it was very refreshing to see such a warm and refreshing bestro. I often look for bestro's and tapas bars in my local area and would travel as far as an hours drive if there was one that had caught my eye, but no need any more because the food was very delightful and the price reasonable, the staff was pleasant and made my wife and I very welcome, I would strongly recommend the Steak which was advertised as 30 days hung and u could tell I can assure u. So please share this ner delight with me and book or just go to Da Vinci's
Da Vinci Bistro – HullWent here just for couple of drinks with friends great place. Staff were friendly, food looked really nice we have booked table for 4 in July.
Da Vinci Bistro – HullI've eaten in various places in the uk and I must say that Da Vinci is up there with the best. The menu is refreshing and it was a joy to see red snapper on the menu. I had mussels for a starter followed by red snapper as a main which was cooked to perfection. Compliments to the chef for the effort and presentation which was top draw. The meal was washed down with a pint of Berra Moretta a premium Italian larger which is not readily available was a joy. Atmosphere and music very relaxing if you don't believe I urge you all to try for yourselves And see if I'm not right ,thanks to all at Da Vinci.
Da Vinci Bistro – HullIf you cannot decide what you would like try the Meze - a selection of starters, fish, meat & salad dishes for £34.
Or our Meat Platter for 2 is £26.50 per person.
