Staff very friendly, excellent value and cost, good atmosphere, clean restaurant, food exceptional .......what more could you ask? We will definitely go back and we highly recommend you try it......you won't be disappointed......ENJOY!!!

We visited here for a birthday meal after wanting to go for ages and we certainly wasn't disappointed ! We were greeted by the friendly staff who showed us to our table. Nothing was too much trouble and they were always smiling. We ordered the meze as we just couldn't chose from the menu and it was worth every penny. The food was so fresh and tasty and we got so much it certainly was value for money. It definitely was a taste of the Greek cuisine without having to board a plane. We will definitely be returning

Went to Roots on Saturday evening..... was just fabulous! I had to try their 'Goat' Curry as I've never tried it before and was very interested in how it would taste.... it was amazing! Quite hot but still very tasty and with potatoes in the curry (always good!) it was served with rice and peas (rice and kidney beans) which just went very well as an accompaniment. Onto Drinks..... we each (3 of us) had 5 cocktails..... not one of them was bad! they all tasted fabulous and i cannot wait to go back and try the ones we never got round to trying! the service was 5* as with Covid rules in place - it is all table service and the seating area and surrounds were very clean and the staff were great - very attentive and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was brilliant! reggae music playing and all tables were having a good time (a few very loud tables - but it WAS a Saturday night so not a problem) hand sanitizer was available on every table and social distancing was in place. i felt very safe. i would 100% recommend to anyone who hasn't been before - should go and try Roots for food and drink! they will be as amazed as I was! You have won a customer for life in me :) and thankyou for a truly fabulous night.

Had the loveliest meal on Friday night. Staff are so friendly and welcoming and the food is plentiful and delicious. We originally were going to have the Meze, but the owner explained that he had had some stock issues and would not be comfortable selling it to us as it would not be up to it’s usual standard. We instead opted for a couple of starters to share and a main dish each (I highly recommend the baked prawns with feta!). He very kindly offered us a free Greek salad for the inconvenience of the Meze being unavailable. Love this restaurant. One of my favourites in Hull.

Good service Lovely atmosphere Food out standing

When our holiday to Crete was cancelled due to Covid we decided to console ourselves with an authentic meal at this, often visited, Greek restaurant. As usual, we were not disappointed. The food was plentiful and delicious. We visit quite often and will continue to do so. If you enjoy Greek food, please give it a try,

Had a meal here last month. Booked online but when we arrived, our booking wasn’t on their list. They’d had some issues with online booking, but immediately found us a table with no issues at all. Food was amazing, and service was very good. All staff were very friendly and attentive. Would definitely visit again if we were in Hull. And would recommend for anyone wanting some real traditional Greek food at a very reasonable price!

Went to Roots as haven't been in years and it was even better than I remembered. I had ribs to start, which were outstanding, 10/10. Main was my old favourite which was the Santiago chicken, which never disappoints. Service, atmosphere all brilliant, already booked to you go. Well done guys!

Amazing food & drinks

Absolutely delicious! First time eating out in months and was dubious as to what to expect but the staff were incredible. Soon as we got there the staff made us feel welcome and safe. Our beers arrived in minutes and the food arrived promptly. Oh, the food! The ribs and chicken fell off the bone. Taste sensation. If you haven’t tried it, you should! Thanks Roots team 10/10 from us.

As always, amazing food and lovely staff and atmosphere

Four of us visited for the second time on Friday 04/09. What a lovely place this is. Difficult times with Covid but felt very safe with tables spaced appropriately and sanitisers dotted around the restaurant. The food was delicious and great value for money at £120 all in with several rounds of drinks. Really can’t fault this place and would highly recommend.

Amazing....5 star without a doubt. Very authentic, superb atmosphere, lovely friendly staff and the food..... WOW! Extremely tasty, fresh, hot food.... The Beef Styfado and calamari superb especially, as was everything else ordered at our table. We've been a few times (this was my 14 Yr old daughters first time and she's hooked!) and will be back again soon. Quite simply the best Greek around, so reasonably priced too, just cannot fault it at all. Till the next time.

very good atmosphere and very kind staff, did feel a tiny bit rushed because of the eat out to help out but we fully understand, it was worth the money i would say and i would definately come back as they have lots of different food

HIGHLY RECOMMEND VERY FRIENDLY STAFF. IT WAS VERY BUSY, BUT THEY KEPT CHECKING TO SEE IF WE WERE OK. THEY ADVISED US THAT THEY DIDNT HAVE THE PLATTERS (IT WAS EAT OUT TO HELP OUT, SO UNDERSTANDABLE). THE FOOD WAS FRESHLY COOKED AND HOT. WE HAD THE SAUSAGE STARTERS, LAMB AND MIXED KEBAB MAIN COURSE. COULDNT EAT THE CHIPS AS WE WERE FULL FROM EVERYTHING ELSE.
