Had an excellent meal and the staff gave great service. When they found out it was my granddaughters birthday they played “happy birthday “ and brought her a cake with a candle, a great touch.

Went here for valentines with partner and 2 friends, food is always lovely loads of choice always hot and refilled if low. Nice comfortable restaurant not too crammed. Definitely recommend and will be back. The onkyvthing I would moan about is the fact the price is based on height and I now have to pay adult price for my 11 year old child as he is tall, regardless of how much he eats.

Party of 5 ladies celebrating their 60th year! Food outstanding and impeccable service…..and happy to take Scottish notes! Would highly recommend and when friends visit Ipswich, will be bringing them here! Thank you! ☺️

We came on Valentine's Day and it was obviously very busy. We had booked. There was a lot of people waiting to be seated and we thought we were never going to get to the front. However a member of staff asked everyone if anyone had booked and we were taken to the front of the queue and till. The staff were efficient in taking dirty plates and all seemed to be working really hard! Well done!

I organised a lunch, with only a vague idea of how many would turn up. The staff were most understanding, and the event passed off successfully thanks to their great service.

We brought my son and his friend out for his 11th birthday. It was a cold windy day and initially we were shown to a table near the door but another member of staff quickly came over and showed us to a table away from the door as she said there may be a draught. The staff were friendly, the tables were cleared quickly but the staff didn’t hover waiting and making you feel uncomfortable, they were just very efficient. As always the food choice was brilliant, and flavours lovely. A thoroughly enjoyable meal out for all! Even our fussy 7 year old left with a full tummy!!

I visited the Ipswich Spoon and was quite surprised by the price £41.98 for 2 of us for dinner. I Not that impressed to be honest whilst the chinese food is ok the selection of other foods is limited in my opinion. The food is not hot enough for my liking so by the time you eat it some of it has already gone cold. I did leave some chicken as it appeared to be still pink inside. As for the desserts, I chose some of the little squares of cake and was unable to it one as it was completely stale. Definitely not worth the money and me and hubby won't be hurrying back.

Went to Ipswich Spoon Buffet for the first time last week. We really only ate the (extensive) Chinese and Indian offerings but there was also Japanese, Italian and carvery (not a carvery on the Friday night we went, it was just cooked chicken drumsticks and some pork squares). However, the Chinese and Indian were really lovely, lots of choice, nice flavours. The desserts were average (I'm a bit of a dessert chef so fussy) but the majority of people seemed to like it all. For us what really stood out were the staff. 1) I am large lady and on arrival as we were preparing to sit down a very thoughtful young waiter immediately and quietly brought over a normal chair for me to replace the rather small bucket type - so impressed. 2) The staff worked cohesively and quietly as a team to keep all the tables refreshed, making a good job of each as they went but so unobtrusively. It was seamless. Thank you for a good value meal, we shall return.

Six of us ate lunch to celebrate a birthday. It was very quiet, the weather was bad and so we were the only ones there. We had a lovely time. One of the diners who is coeliac and vegan told the server at the end of the meal that it was the best meal she had ever had. This means the Waterfront Bistro has gone straight onto our list for when we are in Ipswich! Everyone loved their food and whilst it was not cheap, it felt very celebratory
